Bought one of these in March last year. Probably the best car I'm ever going to own, it's such a pleasant car to drive, and it'll upset some SS Commodore drivers too haha. Also, it's about as long as a Hiace or Commy wagon. There's legroom FOR DAYS in the back seat, even with the fronts all the way back!
Believe me these cars are way better thn its german rivals, people in Pakistan are literally crazy about these cars, there are two cars from same era "Mark X" and "Crown"and there value increases with time in Pakistan......

The Royal Crown, Athlete and Majesta are very popular in Jamaica as well. So it's not just Australia. I am pretty sure some African countries import them also. These are luxury personified beasts.
We also import them here in Kenya,we have so many of them. They are an E-class mercedes on a low budget with every luxury. The crown athlete with the 2GR-fse is my dream one to date
Great Video. I love it. I am from Suriname (in South America). 80% of the cars here are used cars from Japan. The toyota crown is a very great car. The prices are very cheap here when u compare it with other countries. example a used 2007 athlete 3.5L goes for about 3K to 5K USD depending on the conditions. With some minor mods you can reallly bump up HP.

Hey welcome my Canadian brother! i was born in sechelt lol.. glad you enjoyed the review.. really great cars.. im planning to review a 180 series Crown next

Hey bro its all so popular in my country Jamaica 🇯🇲 too 😁 man those guys luv them a true Japanese machine no doubt..I reside in the US now & I see they bringing the new model here but I don’t know man those previous models that we have is bad ass 😂
JDM cars that have terrestrial TV is an interesting one. It's a bit of a grey area. New car dealers, by law, have to block the TV feed through the infotainment while the car is in gear. Only allowing audio. But when the car is in park it is unblocked. I used to work at a Jeep dealer in Japan and the workshop would add that to cars as part of the PDI. But, it is not illegal to buy and install a bypass that allows you to watch while you drive. (often found at auto parts stores) You wont get pulled over for having the TV on while driving. (I should know, my own car has this feature and my kids watch cartoons as I drive...Also almost everybody does it) It's a strange law that isnt really enforced.

The mechanical specifications and interior design are reminiscent of the Lexus LS in the US. 4.6 V8 with roughly 340hp, this is what a LS 460 has between the production years 2007 and 2017. The infotainment system, door panels and centre console are almost identical to the LS of the era too. Unfortunately, the first Crown model, here introduced just this year, doesn't inherit the ambiance of a Crown at all.
Thanks again for an interesting ride, I'd have one of these in a flash if they were around. One criticism is the sound was very low today so I couldn't hear the engine sound. Keep up the good work ...
You can’t hear the engine because it’s so quiet. It’s insanely quiet. I’ve just cut the second cats off and put Varexes on and it’s pretty loud out the back, but still pretty damn quiet inside. Zero drone. Sound deadening is on point.

The GS460 - URS190 has the exact same chassis, floor pan and all mechanicals are the same. I recently sold my GS460 . This car the URS206 is something of beautiy and they drive really nice. I've driven 1 , same colour that was imported about 3 years ago. since then, there's been a couple more imported and sold here in WA. i currently now just bought a Spruce mica GRS204 , which again shares the exact same chassis, floor pans, mechanicals as the Lexus variant *S190 series. My personal opinion is that the Crown is much better finished off and the leather is soo much better than the Lexus for some reason. It's softer and more comfortable. My Athlete is cloth as i was majorly put off by the leather in my previous Lexus.
@@RossReviewsau You do know Lexus is made in Japan at the Tahara plant. This car possibly has A22 at the plant code which is Motomachi , where the Crown, Mark X and Estima are built. Lexus after 2005 was sold new to the Japanese public as they built their own spefic models that weren't just rebadged Toyota models.
Lexus GS and LS is the export version of Crown. Toyota themselves said neither is better than the other. Crown is for Japanese taste, and Lexus is for Western taste.

I have a S180 2005 Crown Majesta with the 4.3 3UZFE, there's quite a few Crowns, over here in NZ, prices range from 8k up to at least 30k from dealers. It's a bit hard to get parts though unfortunately. It's a beautiful car, very smooth to drive with plenty of power. The early 2000s model had quality control issues with the dash material, it does not like the heat and tended to crack and melt a bit like mine.
I had to replace the ABS Pump, over $2000 from toyota, was trying to get used one. I eventually got one from a NZ wrecker, I was going to get one from Japan?
This by far looks much better and more luxurious/balanced than the '23/4 Crown coming soon! Honestly don't get what Toyota is trying to do with or thinking with the latest Crown...sedan, x-over, SUV sedan.. just stick with the original formula Toyota, it was perfect with this!

I know it is bloody difficult to do an English conversion but even if I can do a solid state drive swap I will be happy.
@@caffeinefix2751 I like it. My 12v battery (2017) came really weak probably due to parking in a Japanese port lot for a long long time during peak covid. I didn’t find out about a Crown until a month or two ago 😭😭😭with the hybrids sold in America and I want one soooo bad. I went to get an oil change on my 2017 ford escape S.E. and the mechanic and I were just shooting the shii about cars and I mentioned the crown and says “why won’t you import the older ones from Japan?” I had no idea these gems have been in production for over 60 years 😭😅😅
6:26 😂 ok, that clears things up a little! I got stuck playing the intro a couple of times over because I wanted to check if i imagined the hints of Australian i heard!
I've recently bought 3 Japanese cars for myself and family. Quality and built to last. And live in the UK. German car's can't touch Japanese Quality trust me.
The hybrid V6 version you skimmed past of this is actually faster with 100kw electric + 200kw from the V6, they're pretty cool but unfortunately weren't specced with the nice Majesta bells and whistles...
The Crown and Crown Majesta are really 2 different cars. The UZ186 Majesta is the better looking car, but has the smaller 4.3 engine, the 180 series cars dash cracks and the fake wood de-laminates.
This is very nice, also 4.3 awd vs 4.6 rwd? I do like the squeal of rubber and every little bit of displacement is important so, if you ask ol me what I choose, expect 4.6 rwd
@@RossReviewsau I was sent this by someone on a U.K. owners group, seems rapid enough for what it it. ua-cam.com/video/N128gGJsb1Q/v-deo.html But now Iv watched your review a couple of times, may have to look at the price of the s200 Majesta.🤔
Totally didn't realize this video was from Australia until around the 7+ minute. Australian content creators should start following and doing this, by providing contents that are more neutral in terms of the accent, for it might attract a wider audience. 🔥👍🏼👍🏼 As an Asian, I struggled to understand/appreciate the thicc accent by Australian content creators, Economics Explained (for example).
It’s weird growing up speaking English, because we can understand people speaking English with most accents from around the world. I don’t have a hard time with other languages, I just can’t hear their different accents at all (say Sydney and Perth or Tokyo and Nagasaki).
Good review of the Crown, would love to see the review of the MacDaddy of all them all, V12 Toyota Century. I think prices range from $45,000-$60,000 at the moment.
Hey Ross, just came across this review and i thoroughly enjoyed it Now that you tested the S180 majesta and this S200. Which one do you prefer and which is more comfortable?
If the V8 is not enough for you, there's a much older model (GZG50) Toyota Century - ie the Prime Minister spec - with a 5.0L V12 knocking round Perth.
This is why I only buy and love Japanese car they build to last and unique

@@ElijahTichborne hit me up on instagram mate! i'm usually always filming something on the weekends :) be keen to catch up
Awesome video. Would love to see a toyota century v12 another step up from the majesta
You and me both! lets hope one day i find one!
There’s one for sale in Perth, WA.
A bigger, slower version of the Lexus isf and gsf but ultimately still just as reliable and comfortable.
and cheaper ;) but yes all of what you said was true haha.. ill take the ISF thanks :)
20クラウンマジェスタカッコイイですよね
200 CROWN MAJESTA is so cool!!
very cool car! hoping to review a S180 next :)
Great review
thanks mate
We have a lot of crowns here in Jamaica🔥
Such a cool ride eh
The Crown is very popular in other Asian countries too.
These Majestas are cheap as chips, but JZS171 with the 1JZGTE is holding its value more, specially the VX
I was looking to get one of these but chose a Nissan Fuga 450GT instead.
Was a close decision however.
id love to review a Fuga! very cool cars also
You should up your eq for your videos, you are to quiet and the ads come in blowing up my speakers. Great video btw.
Sorry about that man! I’ve been trying to fix that.. bloody adds always too loud
@@RossReviewsau just some positive feedback G, I had my volume 80% to hear ya(wouldn't say I'm deaf either😀). Great content again. Very informative.
I love mine so much, but even though it's a Toyota, things do go wrong and repairs a re pricey. but what a car!
Awesome 👏
These are very popular in Jamaica, all models from 2012 up (by import only) (but we import a lot of them)
Yes Jamaica does love em eh! I’ve been before once 🙏 beautiful place
I've recently bought 3 Japanese cars for myself and family. Quality and built to last. And live in the UK. German car's can't touch Japanese Quality trust me.
love these cars.. they really are ultimate reliable luxury
lovely. can you review the 2009 crown?
Going to review one soon! Have one keen 👍
@@RossReviewsau looking forward to it!
The hybrid V6 version you skimmed past of this is actually faster with 100kw electric + 200kw from the V6, they're pretty cool but unfortunately weren't specced with the nice Majesta bells and whistles...
interesting.. would love to see one would make a cool comparison
The hightest trim is the G Type F Package tho! It's 2 times more luxurious than this one👀
Japan chose to keep this for themselves but gave us the LS460, no complaints from me.
i still love these Crowns more why lol
The Crown and Crown Majesta are really 2 different cars. The UZ186 Majesta is the better looking car, but has the smaller 4.3 engine, the 180 series cars dash cracks and the fake wood de-laminates.
im hoping to review a 180 series soon.. would be good to compare the differences
This is very nice, also 4.3 awd vs 4.6 rwd?
I do like the squeal of rubber and every little bit of displacement is important so, if you ask ol me what I choose, expect 4.6 rwd
def go the RWD! only would opt for AWD if i lived in a snowy climate
Some also come with a 18 and even 20 speaker fujitsu-ten sound system
nice cheers for sharing..
Nice review. Currently looking at importing a Toyota crown Grs204 athlete into the U.K. not a V8 but a 3.5 V6.
Very nice! love the looks of the Athlete be interested to see the speed differences :)
@@RossReviewsau I was sent this by someone on a U.K. owners group, seems rapid enough for what it it.
ua-cam.com/video/N128gGJsb1Q/v-deo.html
But now Iv watched your review a couple of times, may have to look at the price of the s200 Majesta.🤔
The crown is not really a “secret” car. It’s quite popular in several countries, It’s here in my country 🇯🇲
in Jamaica its popular but not in the United states or europe really... an amazing car!
@@RossReviewsau yea. It’s a beast man. Complete package for the price too. Wish I had one 😂
Great review. Should try and track down a Nissan Fuga 450gt for a review. got a nice v8 in that.
That would be cool! i love the FUGA! remember seeing them in japan n instantly liked them
@@RossReviewsau Yeah i really want one as a daily and they aren't expensive either.
@@scottjohnson7373 yeh surprisingly reasonable considering what you get
Totally didn't realize this video was from
Australia until around the 7+ minute. Australian content creators should start following and doing this, by providing contents that are more neutral in terms of the accent, for it might attract a wider audience. 🔥👍🏼👍🏼
As an Asian, I struggled to understand/appreciate the thicc accent by Australian content creators, Economics Explained (for example).
Thanks mate.. yes I have a benefit as I grew up in Canada so my accent is much easier to understand than most true blue aussies 🇦🇺🤣
It’s weird growing up speaking English, because we can understand people speaking English with most accents from around the world. I don’t have a hard time with other languages, I just can’t hear their different accents at all (say Sydney and Perth or Tokyo and Nagasaki).
my i love Crowns you should try hosting a giveaway on one
Awesome Review, now, let’s find me one of them 👍🙂
You should! great cars.. glad you enjoyed the review
Good review of the Crown, would love to see the review of the MacDaddy of all them all, V12 Toyota Century. I think prices range from $45,000-$60,000 at the moment.
Let’s hope one day I get the opportunity! Glad you enjoyed the review
Hey Ross, just came across this review and i thoroughly enjoyed it
Now that you tested the S180 majesta and this S200.
Which one do you prefer and which is more comfortable?
definitely the S200 is the better one if you can afford it.. but the S180 is really good and very cheap
Do u have a ta moko tattoo? Haha. I'm from NZ that's sick. Nice review to.
Yes I have lol my family is originally from NZ i lived there before moving to Aus
Guys plz keep this car a secret we don’t want jdm tax before I can get one😭😭
move on one quick bro.. they are gonna be $$$ soon
Hey man how you keep finding these crowns with top trims
I’m just lucky I guess 😅
If the V8 is not enough for you, there's a much older model (GZG50) Toyota Century - ie the Prime Minister spec - with a 5.0L V12 knocking round Perth.
oh man how cool would that be.. weird and crazy cars like that are what i live for
If you want to review a turbo 1jz you should try to find a 1999-2003 Toyota crown athlete v, might be a few around WA
i will keep my eyes out for one! would love to get in a Athlete.. i was unaware they even had a 1JZ!
Toyota Crowns are quite common here in Pakistan too
It has always been my favourite family car. I wonder what is the latest model of this type? And is it available here in Australia. Thanks
you can import them here but not sold directly i believe
@@RossReviewsau you mean import them from Japan to here?
Jamaica is loaded with them
Very true
