I was watching a video you made where you commented about not liking to cut sticky things with scissors as you don't like sticky scissors. I don't like sticky scissor either. I accidentally found that if you have your scissors WET, the sticky will not stick, but the scissors cut Perfectly. If you have your fingers moist when you touch anything sticky, It won't stick to your fingers either. I have been having FUN using double sided sticky tape with having found this to be so. Crafting is so much quicker and simpler with finding this tip. The sticky tape or foam does still stick to the project.
Lindsay, this card turned out beautifully. I've had those chalks for about 20 years from my scrapbooking days. I'm going to have to try it. Thanks for sharing.
Discovered this wonderful series of tutorials after watching a more recent video where a comment mentioned it. At last I've found one where I have all the supplies and don't need to add anything to the shopping list (know what I'll be trying tomorrow after I've hunted down my bottle of glycerine). Been a stamped for years but still well worth a refresher and reminder of old forgotten techniques. Just so entertaining. Keep up the fantastic work.
What a lovely card you have shown us with only a few products, and l have them all except for the stamp, however l have a different one that will do. Fantastic idea to use eyeshadows too. Thank you again for your wonderful videos.
I have this chalk set and don't use it much but I sure will now! Love how the paper towel made it come alive. Simply beautiful card. Had no idea it worked with versamark and stamps. Sweeeet. Thanks for sharing!
you probably dont give a shit but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can stream all the new series on InstaFlixxer. I've been watching with my girlfriend these days =)
Wow Lindsay...beYOUtiful card! I have two sets of chalk inks that I've never used - I know shame on me but I really didn't know anything about how they work. I have to say that it really got me thinking and if there is one piece of advice I could give beginners, it's when you start off, don't fill your craft room with a bunch of different mediums. It seemed to make me more confused and I couldn't decide where to begin....does that make any sense to you? I think it best to start off with one medium, say dye inks, and play with that until you get a sense of how they work best, and then move on to another medium. I hope this helps those who are just starting there paper crafting journey! Happy Crafting everyone!!!
I loved your card and your video...thanks for sharing some great tips. I have used chalks before...but I sure learned some new techniques. Thank you so much
I'm completely fascinated with the tool those pastels came with. Although I suppose I could use a clothespin with a bit of cut up makeup applicator sponge. Or a small pompom, as I do have some of those!!
Oh this cards so pretty! Thanks Lyndsay for helping us create beautiful things like you do. I absolutely love watching your videos they're so interesting and clever. Ok... now i need to go run and make this card i luurv it! x
I can't believe how using the paper towel to lock in the chalk really made that image pop! I thought it would rub everything away. I have no idea of the science behind glycerine or embossing ink, but it's way too cool😀 Very pretty card! Thanks Lindsay for stamp school!!
I think it is the wetness that grabs the chalk and gylcerin is a bit oily so it stays wet while you work. You could probably use water if it stayed wet enough for you:)
hi lindsay... I am just like a kid in a candy store when I hear your voice. I get so excited to see what you are making...I just love you ! You make me laugh but most of all I learn so much!!.....lol.. thank you for all you do you are amazing !! blessings to you and your family. ....
Hi, Lindsay, I have to say that I was getting a little worried as I just couldn't work out what the design from the stamp was, apart from the tower, but as soon as you rubbed it with the paper towel it all came crystal clear and the smudge at the top turned into a plane!! I think this is something that I want to try out - firs ton a scrap piece of card incase I mess up lol. Bejay x
After watching this video today I had to go downstairs and make a couple of cards. I had forgotten how much fun it is to use chalk on cards. I use an old paintbrush that is small and I've trimmed the bristles down to extremely short instead of the Pom-Pom or Q-tip. I can scratch it into the chalk and card a little better. I used to use the chalks on bisque ceramic ware, so I use one of the brushes I used to chalk ceramic pieces with.
+Maggie Laird (NanaPoweredBy6) the brand is Pebbles and they have 4 or 5 chalk sets and one cream set. Make sure to get the chalk ones. Any brand should be fine tho. Most craft stores carry them:)
Lindsay-tip from another video: If you don't have a die cutter, you could probably spritz the card stock with a little water (I used alcohol) and use a rolling pin with the embossing folder. I did it (happy dance). The image wasn't quite as sharp as it would have been with a die cutter, and I needed to leave it in the folder with a book on top until it dried, but it worked great! Thank you for sharing experience & tips.
Ooh, thank you so much for making this video! :) I have those same exact chalks (bought them years ago) and I really haven't used them in ages b/c I cannot come up with any ideas I would incorporate chalk on my cards/scrapbooking layouts. Even though I do not have any dies and die cutting machine, I have tons of stencils so I can still dry emboss (do it the hard way lol) it that way. Thanks again!
Lindsey I just found these chalks in a box of crafts from a sale of overstock/out of business sale. How would you say they compare to the pan pastels; in consistency, dust, etc. How would you recommend sealing these particular chalks? and did you ever use a Dove blender pen with these?
Hi Lindsey, two questions, with the chalk can u use them like a watercolor? And also, what are your feelings on the peerless watercolors. I saw another video using them and thought is pretty cool. ok 3 questions lol, is there another medium that u can use like the peerless? Thanks! Love all the wonderful videos!!
+Candace Tabako you van use chalk like watercolor but is won't be as vivid. Peerless are OK for small things like rubber stamping or photo tinting but I don't like them for larger paintings. Peerless are most like ink it seems to me.
I have to try the chalk pastels now, beautiful card!!!...What kind of tape refill do you use for your ATG gun? I notice at Micheal's they have the 2 pack of rolls for the ATG gun, but they have two different kinds they have one for $5.99 and one for $9.99 do you know the difference if it matters one was acid free and the other one isn't ... Thanks so much !!!
You call them chalks and chalk pastels. Are they the same as the coloured chalk one would use on a blackboard, just in a different shape? I love the look but don't want to have to pay Michaels prices (it's the only craft place in town, though there are a few art stores) if I don't have to.
Is it just me or did you put that second panel on upside down? Anyway the card is beautiful as is everything you do, I love watching all your videos and I have learnt so much from you xx
Will you please do a show comparing the differences between die cut machines and embossing machines? I'm looking to buy a machine that does both, but can't figure out which one to buy. If you've got a show on this topic, please share the link. I'm so confused. Don't want to waste money on one machine to find out it doesn't do what I want. I'd like to emboss paper with varied textures as you've done in many of your shows, including this one. Then also be able to die cut paper and card stock as you also have done in many of your shows. Is there one machine that does it all, but won't kill my bank account. Lindsay I could really use your guidance in this decision. Also if you could recommend the right accessories to buy when purchasing, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance sistah, you're awesome as usual.
Thanks Anita. I just found one of Lindsay's other video's which she says the same thing. so I guess I'll search for the best price on that machine. Should I look for any specific accessories to ensure I have the best experience with the machine?
Anita Holmes is this the machine you're talking about? www.walmart.com/ip/46356508?wmlspartner=wlpa&adid=22222222227034239830&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=89207577768&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=123769682688&veh=sem
Yes it is. It is the Cadillac of all die cutting machines out there, I bought mine from Stampin Up about 5 years ago and use it all the time and it does not show any wear at all. You can also buy a magnetic platform for it which then keeps your dies from moving around so you don't have to use washi tape or post it notes to keep them in place, I love mine. There are several copy cats but you will know it as BIG SHOT not by any other name. Hope that helps.
Thanks so much. Very much appreciate your help in this situation. I've been watching Lindsey for over an year now and love the embossing and die cuts she makes. I've always wanted one, but wasn't sure I'd stick with my crafting stuff, since I'm getting my master's degree (takes up a lot of time and energy). However, being creative, painting and making things is a huge stress reducer for me. And I love Lindsey for all she does to help me learn more and want to experiment more too. This community is awesome. Again, thanks for taking the time to answer my question. off to find a good deal now. :) Have a blessed day.
this stamp is $6.50 but no matter what you pay for a stamp it is an investment, choose ones that you will use time and time again. a $1 stamp is no bargain if you never use it but a $20 stamp set you use 100 times is a great deal. You will not wear them out so chose wisely:)
How many children do you have Lindsy if you don't mind me asking? I had identical twins, girls, so fun! When they were 16 months old I gave birth to a boy, yep 3 under 2 yrs....but I had a wonderful older child, that was 8 when the twins were born.....sorry to get off subject, just thinking of the extra sound you have in your your house😀😄😊
I ordered the pastels and the darker ones and the cream ones, I had repeats of the colours. They fall out of the cheap plastic that's supposed to hold them in place. These are a joke.
Beautiful work...but could you possibly slow down your instructions please....have problems with my ears and you do tend to talk quite fast. thank you.x.
Lindsay this is my FAVOURITE card of all the ones I've watched you make so far- I absolutely love it!
Great video Lindsay! I love the pastels with the white. Very classy looking. 😆
Hi Lindsay, I know the longer video's are more work but I love them!! Thank you
Love those little pom poms. I checked out the set on Amazon and they have various sets, pastels, basics, pearlescent and metallics. Awesome!
I was watching a video you made where you commented about not liking to cut sticky things with scissors as you don't like sticky scissors. I don't like sticky scissor either. Great techniques Lindsay! Can't wait to try them out!

I just bought 4 trays of these at a garage sale. NEVER used and I got them for really cheap. So now I have another use for them.
Gosh your studio would be my supply heaven :D
you probably dont give a shit but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can stream all the new series on InstaFlixxer. I've been watching with my girlfriend these days =)
@Josue Draven Yea, been using Instaflixxer for since december myself :D
Wow thank is so pretty! Thanks so much for sharing.I love all your videos.

That is so beautiful! Never thought of pastels with stamps, what a wonderful idea!
I loved your card and your video...thanks for sharing some great tips. I have used chalks before...but I sure learned some new techniques. Thank you so much
Wow, that was so delicate and special! Thanks!
This is one of my favorite cards from you or anyone else I absolutely love it definitely my taste!
+Alex serra thanks!
Thanks love that idea
I'm completely fascinated with the tool those pastels came with. Although I suppose I could use a clothespin with a bit of cut up makeup applicator sponge. Or a small pompom, as I do have some of those!!
you sure can!
thought you'd say that!
Well, I never even thought about using my chalks for stamping. Absolutely love the effect! So soft and romantic looking. TY Lindsay!
thanks! You can also use the shimmer chalks on dark cardstock ad it is very pretty. Or try dark autumn colors for a more bold look o white or cream.
Thank you Lindsay for showing us about using chalk. I learn alot from you:-)
I love your card you are so creative. I cant wait to watch more of your videos. thank you for sharing. have a wonderful week

Just lovely! I need a wedding card and this is perfect. Lindsay to the rescue again😉👏👏

Lindsay, what is chalk enhancer? Thank you for all the wonderful videos you do🌹
I love it! I have some chalk already and the little tool I can make out of dowel rod and gator clip. Thanks for sharing! :)
Lindsay it is soooo pretty. thank you so much for all your videos.

so cool. I have chalk pastels but they are not shimmery. If I m using eye shadow is it the same procedure??

Thanks for the inspiration to create a quick wedding card for a friends wedding tomorrow!
Stunning! 🌈
cool very pretty card.
Can anyone share the brand name of this particular Eiffel Tower stamp. Can’t find it? Loved this whole effect
Lindsay-tip from another video: If you don't have a die cutter, you could probably spritz the card stock with a little water (I used alcohol) and use a rolling pin with the embossing folder. Beautiful as always. You are so creative. Love this idea. do you think chalk markers would work?? $ tree has them in a bunch of colors.
No, you want a dry media. Eye shadow will work tho.
@@thefrugalcrafter Thank You. And thanks for responding so quickly.
Beautiful and great tutorial ! TFS Rosemarie
Lindsay, where did you get the chalk set you are using here? Is there a link? Thanks
Absolutely loved this! hugs, xoxo

They are pretty similar. I'd seal them if I didnt have something sticky under it like versamark ink or a blenderpen.

+Nancy Martinez I get the acid free scrapbooking tape 1/4" from the tape depot. It is so much cheaper
Love this!!
Lindsay, what is chalk enhancer made of, and how can you make it?
it is glycerin:)
thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich Thank you❤️

if the chalks are bright enough they will work, some chalkboard chalks are harder and whiter though and those won't work that well.
Is it just me or did you put that second panel on upside down? Anyway the card is beautiful as is everything you do, I love watching all your videos and I have learnt so much from you xx
Great idea! I forgot about my caulks Thank you
+Jeanie Gregory they are an oldie but goodie!

Never used a die...how does that work?
+Gail Gassen you place it on your paper and crank it through w die cutting machine and the pressure cuts it.
Great video, thank you Lindsay xXx
love this!!!!!!!!!!
