Omgosh...you have opened up a new world of my embossing folders. Wait till my recipients see these. I buy them for cheap, couple bucks b/c I had to have it, lolol. I am so happy I found your site. Thanks a million for sharing!
When you first started stamping the Christmas trees over the birch trees, I thought, “Where in the world is she headed?”. It took a while for me to see your vision, but as usual, it turned into art. This is something that will definitely take me more than a few tries to get right, but I do believe the end result will be worth the time and trouble. Thanks for the inspiration.
ms weirich, i do wish you would stop apologising for thinking that your taking up our time, i think its obvious that every one that watches your channel doesnt mind at all how long your videos are, we will go on watching them for as long as you put them out,and you have given me a new lease of life to help me through my pain and worries. we love what you do. thank you. j x
Jayne Walters thank you for saying it! Lindsay I watch you for hours at a time! I can never get better if I don't learn! Your stamp school has inspired me to stamp, craft and 'card' (not sure how to say that lol) as a career! You're the best thank you!
I love the idea of supporting the paper by leaving it in the folder. You would not believe how many times I have tried to color in my embossed images and they have come out a mess because the paper flexed. Thanks for sharing. Love the card too.
I LOVE embossing folders and use mine a lot. I saw the birch trees all over UA-cam but most were using a Stampin up folder that was 14 or so dollars. Thank you for doing this with a darice folder! I never thought of taping it to the folder. THANK YOU for that awesome tip! When the trees first went in I didn't see them as trees that you stamped on. When you drug the stamp pads down those stamped trees started to come to life and I was AMAZED! I now regret not going to Joann's when my sister texted me about the 5 for 10 sale last week. I will have to see if consumer crafts has the folder.
Wow Lindsay...making cards is what I do mostly. I can tell you that I watch probably 100 card making videos a week and I have not seen this done before. I've seen crafters take an ink pad and go over the embossing folder before they run it through but not where you actually color it while it's still in the EF. This is absolutely fantastic and I'm in love with the results! Thank you so much for sharing. I'm running off to my craft room now to give it a try LOL!
Once again, Lindsay, you create a work of art, but never would I believe it was from an embossing folder. Bravo! Could literally do this to every embossing folder ever made. xoxo
Awesome cards! I love how you did those birch trees with the Evergreens behind! Wow! It made me imagine a small cottage & stream in the background. Your card took me to that "Ahhhhh" place! TFS.🤗💖
Lindsey,...I just have to say how beautiful your card is,even as an experienced crafter I'd never ever think of using my tree embossing folders like this...it's definitely on my to do list,TFS your amazing talent. Dawn from the UK
I have used a newsprint pad for years! Like you said, it has a nice extra padding when stamping. It also gives a base for stamping off the edges of papers and gives an automatic scratch paper to test out the stamps before stamping on the card. In fact, sometimes, I really love the random artistic look of my stamp tests!
I am thinking of all my embossing folders and stamps. The combinations are endless! Thank you for giving me ideas of new ways to use my embossing folders.
Girl, I've watched 100s of your videos over the last couple of years, and I do believe this is one of your best. The possibilities are endless! You had just reached 100,000 subscribers when I first started watching you, I can't believe you're coming up on 300,000! Congrats!
When you first started I was skeptical but step by step it turned out fabulous. I have embossing folders with snowflakes and Christmas baubles that I am going definitely have to try this with! Thanks!
Great lesson, you always post the best techniques for card making besides your ART. ( that is in caps because all your art work is over the top) I have learned so much watching your old and new videos. Thank you
I wasn't sure how the card would turn out, but of course as always you do a wonderful job of surprising me and the card turns out beautifully! Thank you
So enjoyed this video Lindsay. I've been looking for an inexpensive embossing folder for the birch trees. They are so popular that they sell out before I can get one. I know this video is older, but still so current. Thank you for all you do!
Hi, I know this is 2 years ago. I have been watching vidios on this technique. This one was my favorite one. I also like that your hands look like mine when I ink anything. And usually have glitter on me somewhere. Seen too many perfect nails. Thank you for the clear tutorial.
My saviour saved the day again LOL! Perfect timing for this tutorial Lindsay. Your card is absolutely stunning and I can't wait to give this technique a try as I have quite a few underused EF. Really, the results are gorgeous, quick and easy. Appreciate all you do Lindsay and TFS!
Good morning I just caught your tutorial on the birch tree treatment that you're doing and it's absolutely superb you did a beautiful job the technique is wonderful and I'm going to try to mimic it I'm not real good at this but I keep on trying to get them the way I wanted to look and watching you has really been a blessing take good care keep on doing what you're doing cuz you're very good at it and know you do not take up our time we have an off button and we don't want to turn you off we want to watch more my name is Gail and I'm from Michigan
Lindsay I have watched you forever, I love your ideas, you are the most amazing creator. I loved the wreath you made a couple days ago and can't wait to get the supplies I need and steal the branches from my neighbors. Just kidding, I'll offer to make them one also if I can have some of their branches, or they can join me to make them. But you knocked me out on this embossing folder technique. I love dirch trees, and I have a couple embossing folders of birch trees. Can't wait to try your technique. I have dyslexia and it is extremely difficult to do art, but I love doing it so I never give up. I do so much better when I have something to look at which is why I love your videos. I had to watch your video 3 times before I could finally understand that the trees are the parts that were lower, and the background was raised. It took me forever to get it. I know it is the simple things that I struggle with. Here I am in my fifties and still struggle. To get those kinb of results with out masking is great. I always get my masks backwards and then have to do it again. The front images in the front and the back images in the back. I just can't get my brain to work that way. So videos like you do, really help people like me to do things I love so much. Thank you.
I would never have thought to use my trees embossing folder the way you did. I am going to try it right away. your cards are beautiful. you have an eye for design. I'm subscribed and watch all you do. thank you so much for sharing your experience.
Lindsay! I watched a bunch of super old videos on your channel last night and I love how YOU were in them all and I even more loved the hilarious commentary on the screen. Soooooo funny. You should bring that back!!!
thanks, I would love to but I had to cut the comments to be able to do more videos, I am glad you are enjoying them tho! The comments helped me deal with my insecurity when I as a new UA-camr and now I am more confident:)
Teresa, you are such a sweetie. Reading your comments is an uplifting and positive experience. Don't ever change. NBAR, I watch the old vids as well. Lindsay not only got more confident but she managed to get a whole lot more glam! She actually inspired me this summer to do something different. I dyed my hair purple and I am going to keep it that way. She has always given me a little push to something outside my comfort zone. I have had to take baby steps but because of her I feel a real sense of accomplishment. Lindsay, you have no idea how much you affect people here. I for one thank my lucky stars for people like you, Teresa, and even NBAR! LOL! G'night everyone!
Hi Dia! So happy to hear from you! You are very brave! I have never dyed my hair.I bet you look really nice-cos you said you are going to keep your hair purple! I noticed you have a purple letter but don't know who decides what color letter we have on the comments! You are right- Lindsay inspires everyone who watches! And she thinks she's teaching art!! LOL! Ha! Ha! Seriously though-she does that and much more! You are right on target! We all need someone who encourages! It's truly a gift because not everyone can! I think it is one of many reasons we all watch! BTW-we are spoiled this week! She served a banquet of videos this week! Didn't expect and was so thrilled to see them! Now tell me (because I'm illiterate @ text) what does NBAR mean? I'll wait for your answer friend! Have a wonderful day! SFT-SFC! Or is it SFC-SFT? /:). Either way-I love it! Bye Sis! :)
oh Lindsey! I love this embossing folder and the tree stamp. Birch trees are my most favorite. I have got to get me both trees! Thank you for your time. 📦🎅🎄🎁❤
Love this tutorial! Sharing it with my craft group:THE GIFT,Your talent is a gift to share and inspire.Thank you so much for Sharing Your talent with all of us, you are awesome!!♡
This card is so beautiful and you make it look so easy, but I know for me it would not be. I am going to try this anyway and hope it turns out close to yours. Thank you so much.
What a great idea! Damn, you have so many tricks up your sleeve. Time to get out those unused embossing folders. I finished Christmas cards but I am going to think ahead to New Year, Valentine's Day, etc etc...Thank you once again.
Absolutely wonderful video. What tips you've provided us with!! Wow! I can't wait to try my folders like this. Soooo happy I've subscribed to your channel.
Such a neat card, Lindsay! Love the relatively simple techniques to get something so fabulously unique. The three-leaf cluster, though, made me think of poison ivy! LOL Thanks so much for sharing this. :)
I really like this card. I've been watching you for about a year and a half but I think this one is really nice. I don't have this folder but I'm getting one I've recently realized I love trees happy Thanksgiving to you and your family
Genius idea, Lindsay!! Love it. A cardinal would look awesome sitting on the birch branch, too. Gonna dig this embossing folder out tomorrow!! Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I know this an older video but I watched it in the past (watching it again today) and wanted to say I took your advice to heart about re-inkers. I have several $2 stamp pads from Michaels which work great; when they got low I ordered re-inkers from SU that were close and it's worked out great for me. And saved me a lot of money too. I'm not real crazy about the large size of the SU pads, plus some of the ones I've ordered were dry when I received them and had to be re-inked b/4 I used them. When I pay a premium price for an ink pad I don't expect to have to do that (exception: if's a specialty ink like white pigment or white stazon). Also, SU comes out w/ 5 new colors every year; they are retired in two years. I stopped trying to have all the 'latest' colors b/c I couldn't keep up. And I find that there are colors I reach for all the time so it makes sense for me to stick with those colors/color families. The $2 Mike's foam pads are so similar to SU foam ink pads that I can't tell the difference; and the size is more accommodating to my stamp press. The SU re-inker is reasonable if you don't factor in shipping. Best to order it with some other stuff you want b/c shipping is $6.95 PLUS sales tax or 10% or whichever is higher. I'm frugal and your frugal tip has been a good one for me. Btw: Another one of your tips that is a great one is 'all the alcohol ink markers play nicely together". I was able to save a lot of money and still have a nice color selection w/o a huge investment. As frugal tips go, for me, these 2 tips are among the best of your frugal tips.
+Dinahsoar good for you! I know buying reinker is not as fun as other supplies but it saves you so much money in the long run and it us more convenient than running out mid project and having to go buy one. They are so versatile too!
Oh I love those blue-green ink colors and that embossing folder! I think I may need to ask for a manual die cutter for Christmas or think about using Christmas money for one; Embossing can be used in art journaling too (both dry and heat); may put a request on the blog for a video about that technique!

this is great most of the time I've seen this technique with embossing. using the debossed side was cool. will you do more cards using this technique. enjoy day. love the card and your videos
Hey Lindsay, I would love to see this technique with other folders. I mainly have background folders - I can't see how it works with that kind of folder. I want to find ways to use what I have already.
Omgosh...you have opened up a new world of my embossing folders. Wait till my recipients see these. I buy them for cheap, couple bucks b/c I had to have it, lolol. I am so happy I found your site. Thanks a million for sharing!

Hi Lindsay, I enjoyed watching you give such a simple embossing folder dimension and character. I will try this technique.
I am thinking of all my embossing folders and stamps. The combinations are endless! Thank you for giving me ideas of new ways to use my embossing folders.

Never thought of using more than one color of metallic EP on one card. Great look! Thanks for sharing.
This. card is soooo pretty! I would never have thought to use the birch trees for a Christmas card but I love it. Thanks so much.
When you first started I was skeptical but step by step it turned out fabulous. I have embossing folders with snowflakes and Christmas baubles that I am going definitely have to try this with! Thanks!
that would be pretty!
You make it look so easy, being creative! It does not come that easy to me. Great video and card!

Thank You Lindsay!!! I have a lot of Embossing Folders that I'm going to try!!!

Great idea and a beautiful card. It would also work as a card for any occasion
thanks!
I love this card design idea even without the embossing-I don't have one. tfs!
You are so inspiring. I love the colours and technique. Thank you.
Thank you for all of your tips and tricks! This card is so lovely. I can't wait to try it.
omg... finally something interesting to do with all those embossing folders~!! thank you!
you are welcome:)
Wow! So creative and easy. Thanks Linsey.
This is such a great tip. Thanks for sharing this. Love it Lyndsay!
Hi Lindsay, Great video as usual. thanks pat
You have the most creative ideas! Do the tree branches stay white on their own, you did not heat emboss them? Thank you
Amazing. Would be well worth endless hours watching you create!
Oh I love those blue-green ink colors and that embossing folder! I think I may need to ask for a manual die cutter for Christmas or think about using Christmas money for one; Embossing can be used in art journaling too (both dry and heat); may put a request on the blog for a video about that technique!
I will have to an "Ideas from Joe" regular segment:)
LOL "creative producer on TheFrugalCrafter" would be a great resume item :P
So beautiful! Love this idea!
I guess you haven't had the chance to post this to your blog yet. I couldn't find it there. But I really like this card. I love the wat Birtch trees look. I'm not sure what it is I like about them, but they always catch my eye. TYFS

Hey Lindsay, I would love to see this technique with other folders. I mainly have background folders - I can't see how it works with that kind of folder. I want to find ways to use what I have already.
try it, just be sure to stamp on the debossed side (more flat area)
