Have to admit, this was one of the best interviews I've seen on UA-cam for a long time. Tons of value, straight to the point questions and answers. So refreshing, compared to the usual time-wasting, clickbait nonsense-content, thats out there. Thank you, for this one!

@@skodakid1 I do agree with you. However no denying his insight is quite revealing and his understanding is second to none, The last car I got I swapped for a tractor! @@skodakid1 there is genuinely no other reason to say this than envy. ‘I don’t like him but etc’ would be understandable. As he is obviously the real fucking deal. Never thought I would watch a 2 hour video of a car dealer, but Carl is more than that, not just a passionate car connoisseur, but a very well-spoken business man who is absolutely entertaining to listen to. Finally, refreshing someone to speak the truth, I cannot get behind the electric car game, the sound, the smell of exhaust, the shifting of gears, the curves, the exotic looks, and then there were the posters I had on my wall as a kid. What is so refreshing is my kids are the same, my 16-year old daughter, loves the cars from the 60's and 70's, my younger son, he loves the exotics...neither are interested in the 'boring' EVs. I miss the F1 racing sounds from even 10 years ago, electric just does not do it for me, no soul.

Being Neurodivergent I have had to do all the problem-solving in life myself.
No one tells me you cannot do that.
I used to offer tips to improve the designs but always got rebuked because there are no letters after my name.

Great chat. I love the financing argument. The reality is that car loans are expensive (interest) and now it is very difficult to invest the same amount to cover the cost. Every 100k in a car will cost between 5%to 10% a year (or more) before other costs. Very few investment bring this after tax…this is part of the reason of the crash. Buy the best you can with your money and you can enjoy it without worrying. Cheapest way is to buy it outright…Well said

Not sure about his Ferrari leanings. Yes good to look at and good pedigree. But very fragile and constant maintence. In most cases a bit too an obvious choice - like Paemla Anderson. Blond hair - boots and a red swimsuit.
With a Porsche if you get that 2 am phonecall to be somewhere - by 10am - you'd take the Porsche - it would get you there without drama ( and some fun thrown in ). With a Ferrari you'd have to think hard then leave it.

thats fair but u have to think abt someone garage as a whole not just the supercars. Vast majority of porsche, ferrari owner do not daily them, they have a bmw, mercedes, audi, tesla, range rover etc, as the daily. In the use case u mentioned i would forget the porsche or ferrari and take the high powered daily.

1:45:13 The reality of power/weight ratio trumps all really...I adore the Bugatti Veyron/Chiron I really do...but i couldn't forget the fun of lightweight cars. The lightest cars ive driven are Aerial Atom (K20) and Formula Renault 2.0 (carbon tub, sequential box etc....at speed too, no limits at bruntingthorpe). Heaviest is armoured Range Rover (L405).

A really enjoyable watch….what really resonated with me is Carl’s belief that he has to make it enjoyable for people to spend their money…..that’s why people like him exist and it’s the single thing that these Uber brands and their agents have lost sight of….Porsche, Ferrari, Rolex, Ap, Hermes. The customer experience is just horrible. There’s nothing worse than being treated with what verges on contempt when making an expensive purchase. I don’t buy watches anymore because of it.

What a wonderful chat. Loved it! however as I do agree with Carl that Porsche Turbo S is boring as a perfect wife...GT3 (not RS which is too grippy!) is like a perfect lover! You dont have to go 200mph to have fun with it. Quite the opposite. Traction off. Mountain Passses. Drifting in slower sections. The sound of GOD at 9000rpm and great looks. I cannot believe petrolhead woudn't appreciate it.

Great long video. Very entertaining and natural. Your insight on supercars balances out what we have learnt from Top Gear and real life. The gold Nautilus and navy is Awesome. Its took a while but I'm in.

I am fortunate to have purchased a 997.2 GTS in 2016 last week I was asked at a Porsche dealership if they could buy it for a client for £59.000 I paid £45.000 for it, So research is important, on flip side Depreciation on a BMW M4 was brutal but it was leased.

This guy is the real deal. He would do well as a pro stock trader because he understands 'speculation' and while eliminating the emotion out of it. That's also why amateurs, whether in the car market or stock market or poker championships go home with their tails between their legs!
