Sunflora should get an evolution, it's literally just a sunflower. Maybe turn it into a solar panel or something. At least spice things it up a bit like they did with Ursaring
They missed an opportunity in Scarlet and Violet.
Paradox not evolution
Honestly, with how they’ve given us an meme tall/long Pokémon every gen since Alola, I’m surprised they didn’t make an evolution that’s just Sunflora but taller like they did with Dudunsparce. It would make sense too since sunflowers can get tall as hell!
@CaptainObliviousV Sungorgas. After consuming so much solar energy this beautiful sunflower has evolved to its pinaccle.
@@jesuisunstroopwafel There still is hope with the second DLC, I doubt it, but it could happen, maybe
I'd see furret get hustle since it has coil to counter the lowered accuracy, and sunflora really should get weatherball
Sunflora actually does get Weather Ball thanks to the Teal Mask dlc :)
Get it fluffy or furcoat and that thing will tank.
Furrets niche actually works pretty well, frisk is definitely not nearly bad as people might think given it has access to both trick and knock off. What I think furret really needs is a status move or something to cripple other Pokemon a bit more
@@renegaderonin1247 open sheets makes frisk pointless.
@@renegaderonin1247 no such thing as a furret niche. thats a gimmick at best especially with 415 bst
Wow, this guy has guts saying Unown is functional as is
Oh, that was a sick burn, if he has guts you just boosted his attack massively you fool
@@menel3lmao
@@menel3ability swap
Ampharos should really get access to the move Tail Glow frfr. I mean, the whole thing about Amphy in the lighthouse is that it uses its tail to make the lighthouse work. So yeah, give it Tail Glow. +3 special attack in 1 move would make it hit like a truck
wait ampharos literally has a glowing tail thats its whole design
Wait, he actually doesn't have it??? But it's like, the first tail glow Pokémon that I could imagine if someone asks me
Ummmm ACTUALLY tail glow is called firefly light in japanese so it doesn't fit with ampharos
(it should still get nasty plot or calm mind tho)
@@gabrielfreitas3033 Xurkitree, a literal bundle of wires with a weird light for a head, got tail glow, so that excuse doesn't hold much water
@@gabebaum6527also Manaphy, which i'm pretty sure isn't a firefly lmao
Buffing Meganium without changing its stats or adding Fairy is a godsend
Give it strength sap
Honestly, it just needs a half decent ability. Other than Thick Fat, you could give it Harvest to let it run as a gimmicky sunlight wall that keeps grabbing berries.
"We don't need much to fix Meganium, its body is perfect the way it is"
*Calls it thick fat*
tbf starters stats are very streamlined, they ranged between 515 and 535 if im not mistaken, and meganium is literally in the middle of it at 525. i dont think +10 BST helps that much, it could be nice but its still meh. and we are still not really in a time where we know its realistic for a mon to get a type changed when no new type was introduced or it received an evo, so being realistic means we dont get such things like adding fairy to meganium, dark to luxray, and the other overbeaten even if good suggestions.
@@unkindled6410 just give meganium strength sap
Another idea for buffing Houndoom (and a few other Pokemon): update the ability Early Bird. Instead of it just decreasing the sleep counter by 2, you'll ALWAYS wake up the next time you move. This effectively makes Rest just a reliable recovery move that makes you immune to status for a turn, while also effectively making you immune to other Pokemon putting you to sleep
That’s epic actually.
Interesting buff, but NOT for Houndoom, since he lacks any bulk for some kind of ResTalk set and is guaranteed to die very easily.
Also, he's already immune to Prankster TWave and any Will o' Wisp, making the status heal less useful.
Give Houndoom either Strong Jaws with Jaw Lock and Super Fang, or Solar Power over 1 of its 3 abilities from its Mega Form.
@@cosmic12321 Yeah, I was gonna suggest giving Houndoom Strong Jaw with a bit more Attack as well as access to Psychic Fangs. It doesn't really need Jaw Lock since it has Crunch.
There’s a rom hack that gives Houndoom an ability called Soul Eater that gives it +SPA after every KO. Could make it viable
I'm very happy to learn Moxie thinks Ariados is viable as is. time to use it in my team :)
Nah I just buffed it in another vid
@@MoxieBoostedwhat vid
I used a Rage Powder Ariados in a trick room team once 👍 completely outclassed by Amoonguss but hey
@@Jet-plane "GameFreak ruined these pokemon, so let's buff them"
the one with Torterra and Banette in the thumbnail
it 1v1s darkrai, obviously
Something else Delibird needs is a new hidden ability. It gets Insomnia *and* Vital Spirit, both of which do the exact same thing.
The ability that immediately comes to mind would be Snow Warning. But we could also be funny and give it an ability like Huge Power lel
So many possibilities; arialate, a snow summoning ability, or even something that fits its gimmicky nature for ingame playthroughs like pickup or ballfetch
@@timurtheking Kind of like the idea of it having Glaciate.
@@Slimeonian give it +50 BST (a realistic increase that can be meaningfull if optimally distributed), swap insomnia with slush rush and give it thick fat (or hospitality if really feeling it) as a secondary ability, rework present so it always heals allies and always damage enemies, and scale the damage rolls to be equal to that of magnetude, it could be a gimmicky support that could just try gamble on some damage.
or just give it an evo so that it can have proper fully evolved stats. just make it a chonky birb with big beard, its literally just santa.
Evo condition idea: must have Wyrdeer in the party. Boost stats so it’s basically physical attack bundle.
Def continue this series. It's always cool to think about how GF can buff mons.
Runaway should've been buffed to to include immunity to move or ability that won't let the user switch out (Shadow Tag, Whirlpool, Bind, etc)
The ability that Meganium needs/deserves is Flower Veil. Currently it is only found on pure fairy type pokemon for some reason so I wouldn't blame you if you forgot it existed.
Flower Veil grants allied grass types (can include self) immunity to both status and stat drops. A direct upgrade to leaf guard that is also thematicly fitting.
Tbh, Meganium would suck with Flower veil too, lol. It needs mono grass to function for VGC support which obviously is awful and niche as hell, and as you mentioned it currently doesn’t work on the pokemon itself. And even if it did work, it’s not really like Meganium necessarily cares about intimidate etc. unless it’s running a very niche meme set.
Weather Ball would be an absolutely incredible move to give Sunflora, and it's probably the most justifiable "Fire" attack it could use. Even attempts to change the weather result in it still using a base 100 power move, just of a different type
Sunflora got Weather Ball in SV
Just used assault vest Sudowoodo in a playthrough of Violet and it was so fun! Definitely needs a buff but still not terrible with Rock Head Head Smash and Tera Grass Wood Hammer
Why can't Houndoom learn Fiery Wrath? It just makes sense for a literal hell hound to learn a move all about Hatred
because it's a signature move :P
I've noticed that a lot of the Johto Pokemon are also the ones that a lot of people tend to forget they exist.
That part about a base 117 speed Houndoom goes crazy with the knowledge that Megas are returning lol
I sincerely thank you for that Meganium to Mega Venusaur transition.
For furret: buff run away to give 50% damage buff to pivot moves and never allow it to get trapped. Give it a stab normal type pivoting move.
For ledian: Make it bug/normal and keep same stats except buff attack stat. Give it a bug type punching move and boom
Houndoom: Give it dark aura+your buff
Corsola: filter ability
The production quality just keeps getting better holy crap im loving the recent uploads!
This is an awesome series so far, hope you keep it up :)
Ledian has always been a favorite of mine since using it in soul silver (unknowing of its BST). Since learning of its stats I have been haunted every time I see my favorite bug and remember 390.
Can't wait to see your ideas on how to buff Luvdisc in the next video. It's a Pokemon that sometimes comes to my mind as "damn, can't believe how bad this things is"
Its going to get the farfetch'd/delibird boost 20/30 to all
Luvdisc would have been a perfect trash mon if they had just made it evolve into Almomola. It's criminal they decided not to connect the two and left Luvdisc hanging out to dry.
I really like the radical red buff to Meganium, where they give it triage and the fairy typing. It gets priority stab on giga drain, draining kiss, synthesis and I believe leech seed too.
I saw that it had heal pulse too
I feel really bad for Houndoom because in Gen 3 OU, thanks to Pursuit being a special move back then, it was actually a niche and interesting STAB pursuit trapper who also had access to STAB Crunch and Fire Blast. Not as versatile as Tyranitar or anything, but still really cool.
I'd like to go crazy with Meganium and grant it Flower Veil. What if instead of buffing Run Away to allow switching no matter what, it was just combined with Quick Feet? Ledian and Sunflora deserve to evolve more than needing a buff, though Sunkern evolve via stone so that might be out of the question. Plus and Minus have been around long enough that they probably deserve to activate whenever there's an ally electric or steel type.
Make Run Away prevent all speed-drops, including para, kinda like Big Pecks. If that’s not good enough, still always allow switching like Ghost-types.
I also think maybe plus/minus has a passive smaller boost to itself for singles that spreads to both when both team mates are active. So plus on its own always has a 50% of the full boost to the team. Then it hits full power when criteria is met. Can do the same with flower gift. passively 50% of the boost and you get the full when you activate the conditions.
Also agree with run away. I suggested making unerve a speed intimidate so long as other abilities can be immune to it.
Also Early bird team speed boost for team if first pick in singles/doubles (or when it wakes up from sleep)
Houndoom is described as a pack leaders that show superior team work and dont leave their pack behind. So i thought Early Bird could give a speed boost 1 stage to both pokemon if they are picked 1st in a single or double battle. Plus if you want to be more broken or a alternative give a speed boost to both pokemon when you awake from sleep. That helps sunflira, lediean, and xatu too.
Also houndooms cries terify and cause tension in others making them flee. I considered for a second making unerve a speed intimidate(white many other abilities like quick feet could counter, dark/fighting types immune?) I realised how many broken pokemon get this so there would need to be counter measures.
117 speed is a nice start
How to buff meganium:
Add rage powder (iirc bayleef have dex entries about producing aromas that can excite those who come across it)
Give it a good while also fitting hidden ability such as flower veil (finally a grass type Pokémon with the clear body + status immunity ability for grass types on ur team including the user), grassy surge (pure supportive rillaboom?), or aroma veil (providing anti taunt/encore/attract/etc for itself and the team)
Ppl say that its stats needs a rework but for a support mon, the stat distribution is good enough
This series honestly could be used for every gen. If you keep it up, I can't wait til you get to Paldea cause Squakabilly is certainly a pokémon of all time
As someone who went 3-1 with Sunflora in a Reg C side event, it needs a little more bulk and some coversge to be good. It pretty much only has grass and normal type moves
A lot of Grass-type Pokémon have limited coverage.
@@jesuisunstroopwafel Grass is a defensive type. While having... the most weaknesses out of the 3 base types isn't great, there's a reason so many Tera Grass pokemon were running around in Reg A-D, as the mostly uncommon nature of the typings its weak to as well as the presence of Urshifu in Reg D. They also bunch of longevity moves like Synthesis, Leech Seed, Giga Drain, Sleep Powder, Spore, and a hilarious amount of them have screen support.
Its coverage is not terrible now that it has earth power, dazzling gleam, and weather ball. I ran solar beam, dgleam, EP protect in series 1 and it was quite good with the right setup.
I would not say no to a nice buff to its bulk though.
My god. You're the only youtuber that left Meganium's mono-typing alone. Everyone else kept pushing for Grass/Fairy with Triage ability.
It isn't bad, but i believe the Jhoto starters being mono-type is the whole point of their identity compared to every other starter.
I think giving it Triage is pretty cool, even if you leave it as Grass Monotype
I really like the idea of simple for furret, because look at him: there's absolutely nothing going on behind those eyes.
Here me out on the houndoom buff;
In lore houndooms fire never. Goes. Away. So you physically cannot get rid of it and it always hurts like hell (pun intended)
I think we need to give houndoom the aforementioned 117 speed, BUT give it an ability that makes its burns an absolute nightmare.
My proposal the new hidden abilty; Underworld flames
This pokemons flames posses dark magic, making them affect all pokemon, last indefinitely, and increase in pain as time progresses
So to translate into game terms, houndooms ability turns burns it causes (Will-o-wisp, random flamethrower proc, etc) into the burn version of noxious poison increasing in chip damage each turn and they cannot be prevented by things such as fire typing, berries, or moves that prevent normal burns meaning the only play around is to either OHKO houndoom before it does anything or have a flash fire pokemon to stop the attack entirely
This would not only make houndoom a great pokemon with some counter play (its defenses still suck) but it would also be a total meta shift away from the damn karate bear
Ariados just needs an evolution that reduces its speed stat to ~30 and increase it's HP and attack stat somewhere within the range of 100-130 each while making its defenses a matching 80-85, allowing it to really become not only a great field setter but actually bulky. Make him an actual menacing spider who is threatening both in its utility and in its sheer power because it won't hit like real life daddy long leg spiders do against humans. Please GameFreak I beg you, make my boy good
Loved it, please continue doing these style vids! Love your analysis/insight videos
The way I buffed Ledian in the hackrom I made (basically for me and my friends to play), was also by giving it Aerilate, 20 points in HP and Defense, 25 in Sp.Attack and 5 in Speed, alongside Quiver Dance. That way, while it might seem like it steps on Butterfree's toes, it actually works quite different, as it relies on Sleep Powder tactics to set up, while Ledian doesn't has the move, but has the bulk to find a good turn to set a Quiver Dance, and automatically go on the offensive with Bug Buzz, Hyper Voice and Giga Drain, and also learns Follow Me and Helping Hand for some support in doubles battles, which is great because the ones I added also tend to use Follow Me shennanigans while the other Pokémon sets up. But wait, it's a Bug/Flying move, who would use it in doubles, or more importantly, VGC, with its X4 weakness to Rock slide? Aha, but you see. That's why I changed Conversion's name to "Morphosis". Same effect, but it has a more...organic name. And which animals are commonly known to go through a meta-morphosis during their life cycle? Exactly, bugs.
Not gonna lie, I've had so much fun with that version of Ledian. If only Gamefreak would give it half of those boosts, maybe it could find some kind of niche, wether it's VGC or Smogon
The fact that sudowoodo is Oliver from Baki is hilarious, makes sense the dude who’s build like a boulder would be the rock type😂
Most of those pokemon are lucky for being 2 stage or 1 stage evolution lines. So realistically, they can get an evolution that will fix their stat line issues while also making the original mons be able to use eviolite, which could help the bulkier mons.
You could do a lot more to buff some of these Pokémon by just giving them evolutions
Here are all of the Gen 2 changes I would make.
Meganium: move 10 points from speed along with 2 and 3 from attack and special attack to HP, and add another 10 points bringing it up to 105 HP. Then give it thick fat alongside move pool additions such as strength sap, curse, sleep powder, stealth rocks, spikes, and a few offensive coverage moves like earthquake and rockslide.
Typhlosion: Swap its speed and special attack and your good.
Furret: give it access to close combat alongside the simple and quick feet ability.
Noctowl: Give it compound eyes focus blast, and add 20 points to its speed and special attack.
Ledian: Add 20 points to everything except special attack and defense then give it pure power.
Ariados: Give it 100 in both defenses then give it the prankster ability.
Crobat: give it sword dance 10 more attack and 30 more special attack.
Lanturn: Give it 30 more special defense, and bring its physical defense up to 76.
Xatu: plus 10 stats across the board compound eyes and hurricane.
Ampharos: Give it fluffy because it would be ironic.
Bellossom: Give it the fairy typing with moves like draining kiss, dazzeling gleam, and moon blast. Then give it an additional 30 speed.
Sudowoodo: Same buffs as him just give it access to solid rock incase somebody wants to use it defensively.
Sunflora: Swap its attack and speed stat then give it the fire typing alongside some fire type moves.
Quagsire: plus 10 to everything, and maybe regenerator.
Steelix: Give it recover and iron barbs as an ability.
Granbull: Give it the dark type, the strong jaw ability, and swap its speed and special attack while adding 30 points to speed for 90 base speed.
Shuckle: Give it harvest that's all.
Heracross: Swap its special defense and speed then add 10 points to speed.
Octillery: 105 speed, and mega launcher.
Houndoom: +10 speed, +10 attack, and +20 defense then give it intimidate and solar powered.
Donphan: Give it access to recover.
Miltank: Give it some more support moves like glare, and so on.
Raikou: Give it access to ice beam for bolt beam coverage, and give it access to nasty plot.
Entai: Swap its HP and speed stat then give it access to sword dance.
Suicune: Just recover seriously should have gotten it by now.
Celebi: Make it fairy instead of psychic then give it fairy moves.
Lugia: Make it a water type.
I feel like the number of times I said "wait, it doesn't already have that?" is testament to how good this is
Shout out to sunflora for actually being a sleeper pick, huge in sun-room comps.
Choice specs with Tera fire Tera blast, solar beam, earth power, and dazzling gleam. Incredibly slow + hits stupid hard with sun up = free torkoal synergy.
I ran a TR team with Hariyama, Farigiraf, Sunflora, and Torkoal in the Paldea Prologue, and I was nuking Miraidons left and right. Hella underappreciated
Where Brian Hands
@VikrHsbabag I was late on the Brian train. Hariyama guts was very alluring in that time.
Getting Dgleam was huge for sunflora, I ran it with life orb in series 1 and reg C, with eject pack overheat torkoal to set it up.
If you could use facade furret, then why not give it guts? It could be dangerous in battle. Also very good video, you should indeed make a video about hoenn Pokémon that need to be buffed.
Well guts isn’t exactly thematic, which is what I feel he was going for
guts doesn't fit thematicly, and there are also tons of guts users, givin it quick feet gives it a niche
that would just make it skinny raticate
doesn't fit the theme, also that would just be a worse raticate
It should become a serie not gonna lie
Man with special defense like that, the sudodo we sprayed water on in Johto should have started battle at 10% health. Lol
Calling gen 2 the arguably the weakest Pokédex competitively is giving it too much credit, or is insulting any other Pokédex in comparison. The Pokédex is so bad typing, movepool, stat wise, that it makes me want to cry.
Tyranitar was the best pokemon to come out of gen 2 and i mistook it for a gen 3 mon in the past
For Ledian, I say give it a +20 in its HP and then give it Pure Power as an ability. It gives it a little bulk and a 338/370 attack.
that atack stat still mid
The implicit point of Pure Power as an ability is to give the pokemon with it an attack stat noticeably higher than that of a run-of-the-mill base 120 attack pokemon. 370 attack is decent but not Pure Power decent. Heracross would still have a higher attack stat, as well as its better typing, identical speed stat, better balanced defenses. Virtually a direct upgrade and it doesn't even need an ability to do it. So as soon as we start talking about Heracross with Guts or Moxie, yeah.
Ledian needs a base attack equivalent of 150+ more with Huge Power, like all the other Huge Power users, if its going to have any kind of niche. So if we go your route of giving it Pure Power, I suggest we also swap its base attack and special attack :)
I don;t think you need insane buffs for it. Imo an easy way to somewhat help it is give it 10 points in HP and give it friend guard along with moves like follow me, guards moves, and fake out
@@naganut9718 holy crap i never could have seen this coming finally they're adding vivillon to pokemon
@@cubbycrv Same bro. That's why I added to your idea.
Ledian should get a signature ability that when it uses a punching move it will use the move 3 to 4 times (3 times with 66.67% and 4 times with a 33.33% chance) then the attack stat can stay this way but maybe it should get a little more bulk.
Also it should get access to some more punching moves
gamefreak should literally hire u I NEED a playable houndoom STAT
Gen 2 can be summed up in:
- Starters
- Legendaries
- Tyranitar
- baby Pokémons nobody asked for
- "See you in gen4"
and Scizor and Heracross
Buff sudowodo got me actin up
He really giving me a sudowoodo myself 😂
I never understood why Honchkrow got less speed than Murkrow. Sure, it's bigger, but big birds in real life can fly really fast too, just look at geese, albatrosses, and eagles. Poor thing has the slow frail mixed attacker build and can only do some damage with either Sucker Punch or choice scarf. Just swap its HP and speed and give it +15 points to speed, it was really frail at first anyway so losing a bit of bulk isn't that big of a deal.
I'd probably give Ledian an evolution and call it ledethan
Because of two characters in analog horror
I'm interested to see if Ursaring is still good. Like maybe an Eviolite set or a classic Guts/Quick Feet set?
i lost recently to an ursaring eviolite, it defo resists hits pretty decently
i would like to understand what they were thinking when making ledian, why put the best stat in sp def. when this thing will die to almost anything? and iron will do nothing with 35 attack, even huge power wouldnt improve much. they really should rework his stats
This
Ledian is so bad it's not even usable ingame ...... just, please make it at least Bug/Fighting as that fits better with it's theme and is a much better typing, and even just lowering it's SpD and SpA to where it has 90 Attack instead wouldn't make it suddenly viable, but it would at least make it usable ingame and probably in the lowest tiers of competitive Singles (it still has a good movepool and good speed so hey, that would be a WL
I mean, Ledian is a punching ladybird, it's already got Iron Fist to go along with your attack swap and stat additions. Give it a bug punching move, i dunno "Punch Swarm" or something, that boosts its speed and let it use the elemental punches. With Swords Dance and Drain Punch already it'll find its spot in a team or two :D
I saw the short spoiling this and got so excited and tried to find it immediately
feraligatr should get the ability moxie boosted, where it increases all of its stats by 2 stages upon entry.
Giving meganium triage and fairy type is cool, it's fairly viable in Radical Red
I've played around with fixing Sudowoodo a bit, and adding Chlorophyll onto it is actually pretty fun
lol a few hours ago i saw your short with this thumbnail in it and spent a little while looking for it and couldnt find it and was so confused. all i had to do was wait lmao
A cool idea for Houndoom could be giving it a bit more bulk and intimidate. This lets it lean father from the Chi-Yu style attacker and puts it in the range of Faster, Specially-Offensive Arcanine-H. Some additional special coverage and stuff like parting shot would be cool to see too.
so just worse incineroar? yeah it would be faster but like, incineroar would just be better
@@kimotokirby1601 yeah I could see that. But the special end and maybe some more unique traits could make it fun. Even if it can't stand up to the metagame king lol.
Why did you buff sunflora, its already viable....
I would love to see Houndoom with technician just imagine all the fire and dark moves that benefit from that like snarl, flame charge, bite, pursuit
I would love to see this series continue!
Please continue, wanna see Leavanny buffed to do SOMETHING
An additional change I think which could go a long way for Meganium would be to give it a fairy typing. This along with some other changes makes meganium quite good in Radical Red
Ampharos just need to learn tail glow.
It glows it's tail to light a lighthouse!
It needed tail glow
i'd definitely love to see this series continue! there's so many overlooked pokemon that could use some love.
Ledian baffles me. like, the obvious thing it needs is an evolution, but like, nothing about it thematically makes sense? it's the "Five Star Pokemon" and gets power from "the stars" and almost nothing in its moveset or abilities reflects that?
for me, i would let it learn Moonblast and Meteor Beam (lmao neither of these are stars) and maybe change its ability to Serene Grace to let it proc the SpAtk reduction of Moonblast more often, which would synergize amazingly with its only good stat, is SpDef. or maybe give it the Shield Dust ability for something at least slightly more in theme (stardust??? it's a stretch)? if they're REALLY married to the idea of it being an Iron Fist pokemon for whatever reason, give it Meteor Mash too.
I think the buffs you gave to Meganium will just make it a worse version of Tangrowth. Yes thick fat grants a couple of resistances but regenerator ensures longevity and makes a fine regenvest set. Meganium needs a couple new moves and slightly higher defensive stats. I'd give it 90hp, 115 def & spdef and I'd lower it's speed and attack to even things out with the stats.
Well, as long as Tangrowth is viable in higher tiers, Meganium will be viable in mid/lower tiers.
@@tobiasgund8048 lower tiers will still have the old good defensive grass types like eviolite Tangela (still has knock off and sleep powder), Eldegoss (has sleep powder and rapid spin) and Vileplume (better typing and corrosive gas). Not to talk about Ferroseed. They all grant great support and have overall better defensive stats or typing than Meganium.
What Meganium does have is a good movepool, thanks to Dual screens, leech seed, toxic, aromatherapy, synthesis and a couple of other nice options, but it struggles due to an outdated stat spread. Since Game freak does sometimes make changes they could give Meganium (maybe even with a new form in future generations) higher defensive stats like they did with Rosrade and a completely different ability like Empoleon. Thick fat would be fine but I also see it doing well with natural cure, triage or Aroma/Flower veil. Also give it a couple new moves like defog and earth power and you finally have a fine and decent defensive grass type that sets itself apart from its colleagues.
I know it may seem like a lot of changes but Meganium has been left behind from all the other starters that had received tons of support during the development of each generation.
@@Doctor_Dario I don't think we habe seen stat redistributions yet, and a straight up buff doesn't really work either for starters, with all of them being about 530.
I do agree that there are different options for abilities, equally as useful, and move pool upgrades that can be done.
@@tobiasgund8048 in fact I mentioned a regional form to justify a stat redistribution. 100 def & spdef is not bad at all for a bulky offensive pokemon (take Celeby or Mew, but they've got 100hp too), but a defensive one needs much more. Meganium would really benefit a defensive stat buff, since it can easily be 2HKO'd by any setup sweeper
@@Doctor_Dario Oh sorry, I must have missed that, I am completely with you on that. Something that doesn't waste any stats in either of the attack stats would make that regional form a lot better, mixed attackers with middling speed and decent but not great bulk are a desaster.
Frame one click let’s go

Love this vid and the previous one. Great and thoughtful work man
Honestly, I tried a bulky Ampharos b4. All HP n spdef investments, ans run protect, cotton guard, thunderbolt, and helping hand. That thing can kill things with it's high special attack and has good natural bulk with cotton guard being in it's movepool. Works really well.
Saying Meganium would get more attractive with sleep powder shook me for a sec
WHAT
Ooo you should definitely continue this series :)
Love the Meganium buffs too.
yes please continue this series! until you reach gen 9 cuz even them they felt power-crept fresh out of the womb
I instantly recognized that's Biscuit Olivia hando pocketo mode in the thumbnail.
More please! Love these videos and would love to see more generations
Please continue this series! I'd love to see you improve Sceptile since it kinda got screwed over from the physical special move split
Sceptile just needs its atk and spatk flipped and voila, and maybe give it sharpness and add dragon type
I love that he cares about caffeine more than most UA-camrs
aerialate comet punch ledian with 115 base attack seems fun
Need you to continue this series. Fire
I didn't know Magcargo had a competitive niche
Houndoom needs mean look, horn drill, horn attack, megahorn, basically any horn attack. It needs growl, and tail whip, even bonemerang, and agility, and sacred fire
Off topic but rock needs its own terrain
I thought of one that is called “Mirage”. When Mirage is active grass and water offensive moves are halfed.
I actually used Sunflora in Series 1 on a hard TR team, Solar Power + Life Orb. It has surprisingly good coverage, iirc my set was Giga Drain/D Gleam/Earth Power/Protect. It was fun.
... Corsola getting an offensively-oriented Evolution would be awesome
Johtonian Corsola could use Regenerator and Eviolite to become a wall (not as good as Toxapex but it could serve as a low-tier alternative)
And its evolution could trade out its defense for offense, giving it an entirely different niche from its pre-evolution
Sunflora could get heat wave, and a evolution , as for houndoom his poke dex entry say something about leaving an eternal burn or something among those lines, so it could have a new ability that its like toxic chain but it burns instead of poisoning
I love the Radical Red Meganium with Triage and Grass/Fairy typing
To be fair, Delibird already got a huge upgrade in the form of a paradox form.
Corsola had me HYPE. Eviolite G Corsola was crazy on my team in SWSH. would love an evolution for the normal one. Maybe in legends Johto
This is a great series, keep it up, you also have a good voice for this too!
Give Houndoom: The 118 Speed Tier, maybe +10 in Special Attack.
And how about Adaptability as its ability.
As a trade off, maybe take 10 points of its Defenses
2:46 lmao pretty sure everyone watching this immediately went “wait isn’t that just M-Venasaur?” seconds before that joke hit.
Give. Amphoros. Tail Glow. It's whole thing is GLOWING!!
Give it to Lanturn too.
im really enjoying this series! i know it doesnt need it that badly but id love for a vid on hoenn
Now revisiting this video, I think Bellossom should get the Dancer ability. Not necessarily to make it better, but because it's thematic.
Chi-Yu sees Houndoom and sings "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger"
