There's only 6-8 home games a year, people get real excited for them. (Same # of games as the NFL though.) The big American universities have 40k-65k students and the rest are people who went to the university at one point or are from nearby.
College football happens mainly on Saturday’s. It would be University in other countries. I live in West Virginia so I have sang Country Roads in the stadium after a win and it will give you chills!! Fun reaction!!

The 14 largest American Football stadiums are college stadiums, 8 of which seat more than 100,000 fans. The NFL has only 3 of the top 20. And, yes, the major college football teams fill their stadiums for regular season games. Colleges were playing football for over 40 years before the NFL existed.
I love watching people from around the world watch these and say "is this the Superbowl" and seeing all the "nope, this is regular Saturday game day" lol
The 8 biggest (100K+) football stadiums in the U.S. are in college football, but the most fancy, expensive ($1bn, $2bn, even $5bn; none of the 30 smaller than 61.5K) ones are in the NFL. You guys should check them out, as well as college football traditions.
There's also like over a hundred college football stadiums across the country. I travel a lot and I'm always within 2 hours of some gigantic college anywhere across our enormous country
This is absolutely college football. It’s BIG time! In places that have no NFL college is all there is so people embrace it wholeheartedly. We love our football. Many of the college stadiums are bigger than the NFL’s
No, those were regular college football games on a Saturday. The NFL is the professional level of American football, and was founded in 1920. College football has existed since 1869, and was where the game developed and became popular across America. Most schools in college football have been playing each other for well over 100 years. The NFL didn't catch college football or Major League Baseball in popularity until during the 1960's. The biggest college football stadium Is the University of Michigan's Michigan Stadium with a capacity of 107,601, making it the largest stadium in the United States, as well as the entire Western Hemisphere.
Right you are. The game was originally like rugby, but over a long period developed passing and the four down system. It was almost illegalized due to its early violence, bringing in a slew of rules to protect the players.
I think the IOWA HAWKEYES were in there. the reason they all had their phone lights on is the children's hospital that overlooks the stadium. kind of a thing to do during games. in a sense to let the kids know you are thinking of them

The 1st stadium shown was my university, Penn State… and our stadium holds about 109 thousand fans nearly every home games. Each college team plays 12 regular season games, and either 6 or 7 of those are home games.
@@quinsan - There is a NASCAR track -- with a proper stadium, rather than a huge oval with stands -- in Bristol, Tennessee with a football field in the infield. A college game was played there with all seats filled: 157,000.
Guys, this happens every Saturday across the country. Each university has its own stadiums that can hold 80-100K each week. Just as big as Pro Football! These schools have 30-60K + students and they are about 60% of the fans in the stands.
As you have learned from previous comments, we take football very seriously, and going to games is so much fun! I miss being on my 20s and a college student!!! Friday night is typically high school football (players are 15-17 or 18 years old). Saturday is college football (players are typically18-23 years old). Sunday are the NFL games (players are typically 21+). Typically, all three levels have sold out stadiums. We love our football! 🏈🏈🏈
If you don’t understand how big football is in the US it might tell you something when I say that my high school stadium looked alot like these! In fact my high school had such a nice stadium that our city’s university rented it from my school district for their games since ours was way bigger and better than theirs!
I’ll relate this in English football terms. There are 129 FBS college football teams (Premiere League) 125 FCS teams (ECL) and then there are hundreds of more in the division 2, division 3, and Junior college levels. So winning a national title at the FBS level is really impressive.
I would put it this way: There isn’t really culture like this in America outside of college. The NFL is big, but the atmosphere isn’t like the other football is at a Wembley or wherever. More a bunch of individuals/friend groups rooting on their team than a community togetherness thing. I went to a tiny college of about 1200 and our dorm would do chants and go crazy for both the men’s and women’s soccer teams.
College Football is significantly older than the NFL. 1869 vs 1920. College Football has rivalries like Michigan vs Ohio State, or Army vs Navy that are older than the NFL. Those weren't championship games they were showing you, but regular season games. The attendance record for College Football is 156,990 (Tennesee vs Virginia Tech at Bristol Motor Speedway). The Super Bowl attendance record is 103,985 (Super Bowl XIV). The U.S. is the 3rd largest country in the world by land area, as well as by population. There aren't enough NFL teams to go around, but there are College Football teams in nearly every state. There are 130 D1 FBS College Football teams, but only 32 NFL teams.
Lol, most of these are regular season games. I don’t know about average stadium capacity, but the largest college football stadiums can hold more than 100,000 attendees. Many are larger than professional soccer stadiums in Europe.
I’m sure that others have responded in the affirmative. All of these games in the film are college football Americans love their schools. They love their alma maters. Consequently, college football is huge in the United States.
You have professional sports in the States aka NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, etc. And then there's college sports. College sports are divided into divisions by the number of scholarships each team is allowed. Division 1 - 85 scholarships Division I-FCS - 63 scholarships Division 2 - 36 scholarships Division 3 - 0 scholarships (you're playing for the love of the game at his level) Within each division there are various conferences of teams. In Division 1, the championship is decided by a 4 team playoff currently. In Division I-FCS it has a 24 team playoff to decide the champion. Division 2 is similar to Division I-FCS. I believe Division 3 is similar too. Division I is where your largest stadiums are found. I am a University of South Carolina Gamecocks fan. Our stadium, Willias-Brice, has capacity for over 77,550 fans. It's the 16th largest capacity wise in college football. The top 8 largest stadiums seat over 100,000 each. We went from 82,000+ to our current number to add some premium seats with tables and more space.
College football players can enter the NFL Draft. However, unless you're really outstanding you're not getting drafted. College is the last time many players will play the game. For many Americans, there isn't a professional team nearby unless they drive 100+ miles. However, their local college team has always been nearby. Many Americans are bigger college fans than fans of any NFL team.
These are all the biggest college football games. Yes college as in university! These stadiums seat between 65,000 and 110,000 people and it's all to watch a regular season college football game! College football carries the same weight as soccer in other countries and maybe more. The traditions and state pride is part of the atmosphere of college sports. It is regional and national at the same time and the commodity behind such games creates a bond that is hard to beat. Its basically war one against the world and you want to be proven the best. College football is so great because of the commitment of the player and fan without either one it would be absolutely pointless it would be the NFL. So many families and friends sacrifice their time money and energy for them to attend a college of choice that would make their lives better and that leads to loyalty to the school at hand.
LSU stadium has consistently been ranked as college football's most hostile house for years. Playing in Baton Rouge on Saturday night is a nightmare for visitors.
This is 100% college football. Some stadiums hold over 100,000 fans and 80,000 capacity stadiums are common. All to watch 17-21 year olds play football. College football in America is bigger than any sport on the planet.
Those are not the finals. Those are regular home games. College football division 1 has a higher attendance than the nfl. The major conference members average around 50,000 people but the elite schools have an average of 90,000-100,000 fans attend every Saturday. 6 saturdays a year.
Most “state” schools, for example University of Mayland, University of Tennessee, etc have a stadium capacity anywhere from about 45,000-70,000 and they sell out the stadium more often than not. There are some stadiums with capacities of over 100,000 and they sell out too. College football and college basketball are incredibly popular in the US, more so than any professional sports.
QuinSan:. These were just regular season games. Many of the top tier (Power 5) football programs sell out their stadiums for every game throughout the season.
Yes, college football is just as popular as the NFL. College football is where all the athletes are unpaid students. They play for the school they go to.
To avoid taxes, schools spend football revenue on things like new stadiums. Football and Basketball generate something like 90% of all college sports revenue which goes into the billions. Athletes have not been allowed to see any of that revenue but that may change. The average player value to a top school over 4 years is more than $1.3 million yet they receive nothing.
Yes...it is college football. I figured that out because the title of the video is COLLEGE FOOTBALL. That is college football. Could be any number of schools on any Saturday. I'm more curious about why there is so little support for college sports in the UK. Not crazy like in the US, but just some support. I know there are a lot of sport crazy people there. The size of the pitch in Soccer is larger than Football.
NFL players are the pros similar to the Premier League or La Liga pro footballers. But I don't believe any other country has college sports like the US, which means these are college students playing college football so they are not paid by the university to play. Although athletes can get paid for their Name Image and Likeness (NIL), they are not yet salary paid athletes. Only the top 1% of college football players get drafted into the NFL.

Not finals just home games.
Black collage bands
It’s college football
These were just regular games, not championship games.
Think university instead of college. Most of these schools had teams before they attained university status.
Those were regular games
University of Texas can hold a 100,000 people
U ain't seen nothing yet....wait til u see bowl game atmospheres.....or college playoff games......this ain't nun but regular games during the season
All college football games like this. Doesn’t need to be a play off or bowl game! These were all college games. You should react to all college football stadiums and capacity. College football is better than the NFL. Not that I don’t love the NFL!!
College football and NFL are two different animals
All the biggest seating stadium are colleges 😂😂
