  • Fujifilm X100VI all over your feed? No worries I’m just writing that for the algorithm. Also don’t buy that camera I have a video about alternatives to that camera like the Canon M6 mark II, Canon M50, Canon M100, Sony RX1R II, Fujifilm X100, Fujifilm X-T1, Nikon ZF and ZFc.

I never cared for the EF M lineup when it first came out, but it wasn't until recently I saw the value of the compact system.
Essentially I get tired of lugging my DSLR around and sometimes don't even bring it with my when I travel. Then I came across the M6 a year ago and thought what a cool looking camera that's smaller yet has the same sensor size as my 80D. Now I just picked up an M6 II a week ago and going to sell my original M6 and 80D since I barely reach for it anymore and just use my 5D III (bought a few months ago) for client work and M6 II as an all around compact everyday camera and for video, not to mention I can use all my EF glass on it with an adapter

You need the viewfinder to get the most from this. Even the old one works well. Ergonomically the M5 feels more professional but you would be sacrificing pixels, if that matters to you. Personally I use RAW and high level JPEG on my M3 and M5 and the images are excellent for 8 to 10 yr old cameras.

I just got a M50 Mark ii a few months ago, it's my first real camera, previously I only owned point and shoots, and I love it, it's so compact and the 2 lenses I have are so small when I compare it with full frame DSLR that other people are using.

I love my m6 mark ii. It was a big upgrade from my first camera the T6i. The weight, size and native lenses are solid for someone trying to figure photography out. Sometimes less is more. It aids in not overthinking and hopefully just grabbing your camera bag and head out the door. Don't get me wrong, I have long term plans to upgrade sometime down the road. Maybe an R or R8 but for now the M6 mark II is perfect for my needs. 😁

I have an M50 Mark II and carry it around with me all the time. Even when I’m primarily shooting with my old A1. Never selling either of them.

I'm still shooting the original EOS M and even though it is slow I still love it.

This system is perfect for someone who wants a cheap and cheerful camera without desiring a prosumer upgrade path. There are plentiful used EF-M and EF lenses to snag on the cheap, and you get a lot of sensor for your money vs. M43.

m100/200 and 22mm f2 is a great pocket cam. Unbeatable for portability. Thanks for defending the ef-m cameras!

I've kept the M2 with the 22 prime. It's smaller than than the original yet it fits the hand well. I keep it for street. I've also kept the M200 paired with the 11-22 for landscape and architecture. I had the M50 ii and sold it after buying a 90D - another dead end but I have a 10D that still shoots so I'm not going for an R series.
I'm too for new cameras. Next will be a used Sony A7R ii or iii converted to monochrome so I can shoot B&W without film. It's my hobby and it's supposed to be fun. Glad to see this site Walter.

I built a system from the 1, then 3, then 5. I got the last 2 on exit pricing new. I was tempted by the 6mk 2 for 4K but spent the money on an iPhone 13 Pro 512gb instead. For 4K on a rig with the great Shure M88 or Rode mic it works superbly, especially using cinematic mode. My Canon M system is really for travel photography where it’s great. The lenses are very sharp especially the 22mm. I haven’t got the 32mm but am thinking about getting one whilst it’s still available. However, my old 28mm EF and pin sharp 50mm 1.8 (the 1980s one) are both excellent. For a laugh I put the large 70 to 300 mk 2 EF lens on the adapter and was staggered that it worked, like lightning, on the M5. I guess it’s a battery drainer though, but it definitely shows 480mm on the lens. Yes it’s a bit weird but heck, when snaps in place as good as the R7…..and I already own all the stuff.

Perfect for beginner and hobby photography. I got the M50 Mark2 when it came out. I am buying all these funky old lenses and use them with an adapter. Its so much fun and the camera is so tiny. Video is horrible though, the 4k is unusable and the normal 1080p is like a phone.

Anyway the m6ii only support 120fps in full hd 1080 not 4K.. the 4K is only 24 and 30 fps and timelapse

As long as Canon is not offering a small, capable body for RF-S I'll keep it...or buy a Sony.

It's going to be worth it until Canon pulls their heads out of their posteriors and releases an M6/M200 style body with the RF mount. I have been making do with the smaller RF bodies, but I'm constantly tempted to pick up an old M100/M3 and 22mm pancake for a pocketable camera.

I will continue to use my SL2, EOS-M and M6 mark II just to keep Canon out of my bank account LOL. I took my EOS-M to Maui in 2022 and it worked out well. In 2025 my M6II is going to the Caribbean and should work out well.

What does still mean? Still? Was never worth it. I had Canon cameras in the early 2000's and that's it. Canon is done for since 2015.
