It's 14th of July today i have a go at changing one of my Version 2 Generic platoons into a Version 3 platoon how will it transfere to the new force selectors platoon structure. Like and subscribe to follow along with my Wargaming Adventures.

yeah the new platoon structure will make for much more historical lists, if players don't min/max list just to win games, :(

I saw somewhere that Marcus Vine (Warlord employee and playtester) let slip that they found 1250 points the sweet spot for V3.

hi Julian, yeah i seen the Juggernaut Bolt Action podcast were Marcus said they had been playing 1250pts a side, and as soon as that is confirmed i'll do a 1250pt list build, i was just showing how much of a Generic 1000pt v2 list will move over to the new platoon structure, :)

Have a go Gary, it's suprising how hard it is, unless you take inexperianced troops you can't fit you old list in you will have to drop stuff out, has Julian as stated looks like V3 is going to be 1250pt games, so have a go at doing some 1250pt lists. :)

I don't care for tournament games, I like involving many players per game. V3 will work out great for multiplayer games each player per side can control a platoon of sorts. One player controls the rifle platoon, one he heavy weapons platoon and one the armoured platoon.

Like the idea of being more themed....so you choose the platoon according to the type of force you want

yeah, you can definatly create a more historical force using the new selector

Also stops auto select flamethrowers in many lists.....it'll make you commit to engineers if you want them....and possibly forfeit armour etc

@GDWargames I've got a royal artillery platoon from the theatre selector.....i only use it for the odd friendly game, with pre agreement.....always funny when you use a captain to fire 3 x 25pdrs at once.

@@rich_john nice, i was thinking 4 25pdrs is prob best artillery combo, being able to use them at HE and AT, makes them so good, hope they can still use both ammo when the full rules come out, :)

You highlighted very nicely how the new structure will lead people away from the one of everything approach. I think that’s a good thing for historical feel and for Warlords sales. Do you look at your new list and think it’ll be as fun to play as your old one?

to be honest, I don't know, i think it will be easier for new players to learn the game, as you will be playing with multiple units, instead of only 1 of each in V1 and V2. :)

@@GDWargames Now that’s a good point. I’ve just picked up the US Airborne starter army to get back into BA with, and making a list with it aincould wish there was a little more repetition rather than such a broad mix. Could have done with a second mortar to complete the Heavy Weapons Platoon.

@@GDWargamesThere is an HMG. In my defence, Easy Army doesn’t have the HMG set up to fill the compulsory choice. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Looking at the platoon description from Warlord it should be. Thanks for the heads-up.

this is all pretty pointless as the points costs and rules are going to be changed
you're trying to apply our experience and knowledge of 8 years of V2 into the microscopic bit of info we know about V3

the points are irrelivent, im showing how a V1/V2 platoon fits into the new V3 structure, which we have already been told about. so its not pointless.
