To be honest, I think SU tried to show their dexterity. It’s really catch 22 with SU. People troll them so hard “saying they only play loud” so today they tried to out Famu, Famu. Which in my opinion they did. However, that’s not what people really want. They actually want SU to just play loud. It is what it is. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
Florida is NOT neutral ground. You can’t come here on that unbalanced loud shit and come out with a w. Therefore su knew what they had to do. There was a lot of fluffery and missed spots in su’s music as well as famu. Both will learn and make for an even better game next year. 🤷🏽♂️
@@quanc6302 song selection. It's FAMU's eternal problem and SU seems to be off this year as far as writing good sounding songs for marching band. Yet SU still got the win in all facets of the game.

been a Juke fan for over 35 years. This was impressive and also telling. When you are the undisputed heavy weight champion of bands you know your opponent. They finessed the hell out of Famu. They let what they are shine. They let that Brass whoop some ass. When it was time to throw the knock out blow, they did it with ease. Good job Juke.
The Human Jukebox is battle tested they are the bar.. Famu didn’t really wanna fight with us @all seems like they where forced to battle.... So that’s what we’re witnessing Music is what we do here in Louisiana!

Blue Coats, Santa Clara Vanguard, Madison Scouts, Phantom Regiment, Cadets etc...dont have that ummf (soul) in them to play hip hop, r&b, or gospel with the same feel. If you were to give any of these DCI corps SU's rendition of Let it Rain, you would not get the same feel. Don't get me wrong, these aforementioned drum and bugle corps are outstanding at what they do.

Folks the “JUKE” is just the best out there. Everyone keeps saying wait wait u til the battle FAMU really come on. FAMU couldn’t beat some of our lesser bands in the SWAC. stop hating on the “JUKE” just step your game up. I agree with some other comments SU outdid FAMU doing FAMU but JUKE be you!

I said this on another post but it bears repeating. Meac bands CANNOT handle SWAC bands. SWAC bands are simply too aggressive for MEAC bands. Southern took this with ease.

I do not think Famu was trying to "handle" Southern. Famu has a set structure and they done waver from that even against Southern.

I think a lot people having an issue with new arraignments from the Juke; they aren't as basic as they were in the past which were quick hitters that were aggressive sounding songs. The Juke is branching out from their comfort zone. It will take a moment for everybody to get use to it. FAMU sounded like they added new song to their this week fir the Juke. Should have stayed their lane

SU played down to the competition like playing 1 on 1 with your little brother, and I like FAMU.

It doesn't have MORE POWER. Kedric Taylor & Brian Simmons use the power differently. Mr. Taylor uses power to tie people up in knots...poison you w/concert sound & hard, old school r&b plus tunes like Drowning. Mr. Simmons is so far out there. Batma to Yosemite. He uses power to cause CHAOS & FEAR.
