Yes, no championship ringsless great ISO player, but he only cared about the money he got his money he didn’t take a sacrifice therefore teams not get the pieces he need to win a championship. He was selfish, and in the end he have to go from one team to the next one to the next one and the next team, he was a journeyman at the end.😂😂
We heard y'all the first time. It's the entitlement that gets me. Melo didn't deserve to have his jersey "retired" the second he left the team. He gave it up, someone else built a stronger legacy with it. It is what it is.
So if Portland gives 0 to someone else and they come In and go crazy like Jokic and 13 years later Dame says something he's wrong?
I don't think anyone was confused about what Melo said lol.

Completely different situation. And Lillard has way more identification with Portland's fans than Melo has with Denver's. Not even close.

Rest assured, number 15 will be retired…a champs number, not a chump. About time marshmello’s finally playing some D tho.
I'm a diehard Nuggets fan, and have constantly defended Melo against haters throughout the years, but he is still dead wrong here, even after he got a chance to rethink an revisit. He really needs a co-host that isn't just a yesman, someone who is willing to check you and stimulates you to look at things from different perspectives.
Teams don't pull players numbers out of rotation immediately unless they won championship or MVP, and they especially won't do it if a player leaves in the middle of their prime and without even saying thanks and goodbye on their way out. To this day I haven't heard a single occasion where Melo showed any sort of gratitude for his time in Denver. Melo even chose to announce his retirement right after Nuggets clinched their Finals spot. I have heard all his other teammates say good things about their Nuggets days even though they weren't drafted there or may have experienced more success elsewhere, so why can't the guy who was embraced by the franchise and the fans from day 1 do the same.
Making the playoffs isn't a given or easy task, otherwise they would have done it more than once in his in NY. You can't blame Melo for not being able to overcome all the monsters that were in the West, but you can't blame the organization either because they built good teams around him and were able to win a ton of games.
I heard everything you said.. just know that Melo and his Knicks did make the playoffs 3 times during his time there 😂
Excellent comment coming from another Nuggets fan as well.

Don’t play the victim now that people call you on your bullshit.
When you never won shit, played for yourself, and forced your way out from a team but expect them to retire your number you might be Mello. Not your number anymore when it comes to the Nuggets, Jokic owns that number now, and when it's retired it will be for him since he earned something wearing it.
I really think this podcast has potential, but I think Mero is too fanned out sometimes. I’m not even expecting push back but just echoing every point Melo makes doesn’t make for the greatest of shows. It’s like he parrots points instead of bringing a unique perspective.
Agree, if he asked few questions to clarify Carmelos answers instead of making fun of Jokic's English there would be no confusion or need for this video.
He's not there to be a "Melo's interviewer" he is there to be a "hypeman" and funny commentary.

No what he said was they gave Jokic the number to erase what he did. Meaning they knew jokics stats would minimize what he did. And that's not true because they had no idea how good he was. Melo is standing in bs and twisting it.
No one said: "Boss, you gotta draft this guy 41st, he's going to be a Finals mvp."
But worse they gave that shirt for 2 years to Anthony Randolph since Jokic only came 4yrs after Melo left.
Its all about how you leave. You gotta leave on good terms. He forced his way out. How could you possibly think those same people you turned your back on will honor you years later? The lack of awareness is nuts.
Agreed. But I'd like to add to this and say those arent the same people. Melo arrived during the Kiki years and left during Masai era. 2 years later and it was the Tim Connelly era and everyone changed from Melo's time ((like when Arturis left for Bulls GM job). Calvin Booth now leads the front office.
Melo's problems where with a management and coaching group that hasn't been there a decade. He's fighting against ghosts who gave Anthony Randolph his number for 2yrs but implicating the current Calvin Booth/Mike Malone/Jokic led organization.
He has no connection to them, never shown interest. You can't be surprised they're not retiring your number.
The only issue here is,
"Melo's feelings got hurt." It's the team's decision to retire your number or not.. an example of this is, Dennis Rodman. You don't here anything from Rodman.. he don't care.
He made his career in Detroit and they retired his number 10 so he won’t care.
@@masilomoshesh1475 and he made his star shine brighter in Chicago.
Carmelo can't throw a shot a Jokic because he's not good enough lol
Good thing he didn’t throw a shot though 😅
Jokic has had his number 15 for years now, why didn’t he say anything when the number was first given?
Same reason he didn't say anything when Randolph had it. He didn't care, and he didn't expect either of them to blow up like Jokic has. Now that his career is officially over, he's realizing his most success came in Denver and he's not going to get the same treatment his peers will. Gotta sting a little, but he did it to himself.

The media as per usual took this way out of context for clickbait stories. Melo was never comparing himself to Jokic, he explains here how clearly organizations are petty and will take vengeance upon players who they feel wronged them despite sacrificing years of their career to the franchise like in Melo's case, KD's and many others.
how did Melo "sacrifice"? He got max pay during his time in Denver and got himself traded as soon as he wanted out. Where's the sacrifice?
If a player who has never delivered a championship to my franchise forces his way out in a trade, he shouldn't be expecting to have his number retired by that franchise. Sometimes it happens anyway but it should never be "expected"
No Melo meant it exactly how he said it and the media took it as such… he said the nuggets giving Jokic #15 was petty maneuver and he was wrong plain & simple…

@IGcantstopfactsbrehit is
This is like saying your ex should send you an anniversary gift when you moved out on your own accord. Melo didn't "leave", he demanded a trade. What is he not getting?
When Melo spoke on the last episode, he didn't make it clear about organizations, and how they treat the players after they leave, which stirred up this situation. Instead, he complained about his number being given away. Melo didn't state facts about being treated badly. Instead, Melo made up a scenario where he had zero evidence to back it up. IMO, Melo came across as a conspiracy theorist against the Denver Nuggets, by stating they're trying to erase his history there, and it was a petty move. Paranoid? Self-absorbed? Maybe both. But Melo, has an unreasonably high sense of his self-importance. Honestly, what makes him think that the Nuggets give him a second thought? I mean, that's a serious question. Why? First, I think that's part of the problem. Melo comes off as delusional. They gave the number to someone else just to spite you? Wow. Perhaps you've been in the limelight too long, but not everything is about you. Second, the problem with the situation is YOU feel that the Denver Nuggets should retire your jersey, but obviously, they feel differently. It doesn't make either side wrong, because we're all entitled to our opinions, and it is someone else's organization, not Melo's. Still, publicly bashing the Nuggets and calling them petty isn't doing you any favors, and it isn't going to have your jersey retirement considered now that this has hit the fan! The feedback that I have seen from a good majority of fans is that they don't believe you did enough with Denver to warrant that, and the number is clearly Jokic's now. Again, differences of opinion but here we are. Third, you called Denver petty, but you and your co-host come across as the petty ones by making these uninformed statements. Knowledge is a powerful thing! If you both had armed yourself with it before doing the podcast, your message might have come across better. Clearer. And you wouldn't have to be backpedaling and explaining that interview away now. Both of you need to do some fact checking before speaking about a team or player, so you have some actual context behind it and don't look like you're spouting BS just to hear yourselves talk. Melo repeatedly said, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. He was clearly trying to work out all these different scenarios in his head, but honestly had no facts. Lastly, I think it puts fans off when there's a sense of entitlement, and I believe that's what a lot of people picked up on. Honestly, why complain about that jersey number, or call out the Nuggets for it being assigned to Jokic now? It isn't your decision, and you handled your grievance over this irresponsibly, therefore causing the backlash. Whining about something, won't get you anywhere. Communicate better. Clearly, Melo is entitled to how he feels, as the Nuggets are, but in this day and age of social media, he didn't do himself any favors. Side note, your co-host mocking Joker in that last episode? Not a good look. That kind of behavior is what makes YOU BOTH look petty, jealous, and a bit like a couple of schoolyard bullies. You talked about what the show was supposed to be, which is respect and giving flowers so don't be hypocritical and mock people, or show them disrespect!!! If that's what this show is really about? I've said previously that I can get behind it, but put respect on everyone you speak of... Jokic included! The mocking of Jokic, that's the disrespect I'm talking about. NOT Melo having an issue with Jokic over the jersey. To explain, AGAIN. The 15 jersey, and Melo having an issue with Joker over it, is a completely separate issue from the type of disrespect I'm referring to. Issue one, the jersey. Issue two, the way you mocked Joker after saying you didn't have an issue with him. Melo, sorry. You read the room wrong. 🤷♀️

@@vlada 😂🤣
But wait, last episode you said you saw it on Jokic that made you go woooow. Not on anthony randolph. Interesting how the story changes to suit melo.
It could be true for both. That’s like a double whammy. First Randolph and then Joker… yea both could be true.
Melo previously said the Nuggets were petty and they were giving out "15". They weren't "giving it out", but they were letting players who requested the number take it. Both Anthony Randolph and Jokic wore 15 before coming to Denver. The only thing the Nuggets did was, they didn't say "no". Melo was singling out the Nuggets in the previous interview, and now here he's claiming he was speaking more broadly about NBA organizations, and the video even cites examples of other organizations doing the same thing (i.e. the OKC Thunder reassigning Kevin Durant's number-- Durant being someone who accomplished more in OKC than Melo did in Denver). At any rate, what Melo is saying here is true, organizations typically don't hold numbers for superstar players who move on to other teams, especially ones who demand a trade. More organizations won't do this than would do this (the only counter example I can think of is the Washington Wizards and Bradley Beal, who is less accomplished than Melo, but the Wizards wouldn't let Jordan Poole wear #3 in the immediate aftermath of Beal being traded).
If he wants to have a conversation about whether organizations should take numbers out of the rotation to honor great players who leave, fine. That isn't something that has been an established norm, and yet previously Melo explicitly called out the Nuggets for being petty for not doing just that. Personally I disagree: numbers are taken out of the rotation when organizations retire jersey numbers. When a player demands a trade out of town he shouldn't be expecting that team to keep his number out of the rotation until he retires playing. I honestly think the Nuggets would have co-retired the number 15 for both Jokic and Melo after Jokic is done. And they still might, but now that he's called out the organization for being petty over this, the odds are a bit less.
One thing Melo said previously I agree with: "it was meant to be". Jokic may have been a 41st pick no one expected to become one of the greatest players of all time, but in retrospect, he absolutely deserves to wear the number in Denver he grew up playing with. It was meant to be that Jokic would wear 15 for Denver and the number would be retired for him.
Randolph also wore 15 like Jokic earlier?
When you see that picture of Jokic at 5-6yr wearing a Denver Nuggets sweater halfway around the world, you start wondering if it was meant to be.

And it hurts him more that Jokic has done greater things than him bc he did bring back nuggets Bball.
It doesn't matter if he requested a trade or not. People can't act like he was just a regular player in Denver and didn't accomplish anything. This rings culture has completely screwed up people's heads and has everyone sounding stupid when they talk about the game. Outside of Dikembe Mutombo and Antonio McDyess, no one cared about the Nuggets before Melo got there. He made them relevant. They hadn't made the playoffs in almost a decade before he got there. He was on a team that got to the Conference Finals. This idea that you did nothing in your career if you didn't win a championship is silly. It's the same thing with Orlando giving Tobias Harris the number 12 after Dwight Howard like he wasn't the most dominant Magic player in the history of the franchise not named Shaq. Organizations are disrespectful. Players don't have to just keep quiet when their legacies are about to be erased.
Crying because a guy with your number will have a better career is very feminine energy.

Is he envious of Jokic? I have no idea about his performance in those days, but according to him, they have to start making jerseys with new numbers, like 101....115 ... lol
I forgot all about Anthony Randolph 🤦🏿♂️
facts lol
This podcast is all about him him him even when they have a guest the topic and questions will always revolves around him.
“Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.” That is what happened when people heard what Melo said, some dumb folks heard different. haha.
"Stupider" isn't a word, so we know what half we're working with here.
@@Musso8771 If you knew any better, you'd know that was a quote from George Carlin. I like to hang out with people from the other half like you, just to know how it feels.
@@Musso8771for a guy that doesn’t like Melo, you be around these parts regularly. Months actually. 😂😂😂
I get he left under ugly terms but if Udonis Haslem or Bruce Bowen’s jersey can get retired, Melo should also.
Nope
Motumbo has his number up but he is beloved to this day. He's represented the team in his retirement where builds hospitals in Africa, come back to town and talks about Jokic.
Udonis.... Beloved too.
Bowen was part of a dozen NBA, euro, minor league teams before playing 7-8yrs for Spurs. He still lives there, has charitable foundation and coaches high school basketball there. Beloved part of community.
You see a pattern?
Heat retire anyone and everyone’s jersey lmfao they’re a joke
@@vlada he didn’t have a better impact than Melo you talking about off the court stuff he was washed on Denver bro Melo had them in the playoffs every year
The biggest legacy Melo will have is what if the Pistons drafted him, Jokic, and Jeremy Lin was more famous then him for a year, and he only made it to a conference finals once.
My Favorite player ever ever...
They may still retire both Anthony and Jokic
Anthony Randolph?
I Forced my way out of Denver to go back home few states over from melo’s knicks I forced my way back to Denver after 1 year and never left Colorado again.
As a life long born and raised Denver fan we don’t fw melo out here anymore ever since he left us for the kniccs he ain’t been shit to us fucc melo fr we fw jokic
Nah, Melo said what he said, Jealous and salty.
If he gave any fucks about Denver, instead of initiating this conversation he would be supporting Denver, courtside seats at the finals.
Its like a dude talking about his ex gf.
Very feminine energy. Ever see a woman leave a man and he then remarries, has kids, great job, new house, lost 60lbs and hear her talk about her ex?
Nahh Melo, you tied the Nuggets hands and demanded a trade to NY! Stand up and be a man!
💯 15 SHOULD BEEN PUT ASIDE AND RETIRED FOR MELO IF YOU DONT AGREE YOU JUST GOT HATERADE IN UR DNA
Then Melo why are you at the Knicks/Philly playoff game instead of the Nuggets/Lakers playoff game?
Melo stood on business 👍
Jokic wore 15 since he started playing
Melo top ten in scoring quit playing with him frfr
Who cares jokic has a ring with 2 mvps and his still has 10 more years of playing career
@@orangejuice20133 exactly who cares .. this is a nba where it’s easy to win a championship and mvp lol Kobe was a dominate beast for 20 years straight and only got one mvp so it’s a easier league to play in lmao
@@BigSlim3600 no nba championship is easy kid and no Kobe didn’t dominate for 20 years gtfoh. You are confusing him for lebron lmao. Kobe wasn’t good his first 3 years and his last 2 years. Wipe your mouth once your done melo is a nobody.
If Melo had stayed in Denver and had patience he'd be in Jokic position by now he had the keys to me it was a easy move to go East and dominate but had he stayed in Denver they wouldn't have had to rebuild so drastically in which they got Jokic
Without Melo leaving Denver doesn’t get Jamal Murray or Jokic
lol now it’s Anthony Randolph 😂
Melo front and center in the inflated ego hall of fame
No such thing as my truth but I do see what melo is saying crazy smh
My observation has been that Melo is a great 1-1 offensive player but not coachable as a team player. His ceiling was the 1st round playoffs. One off year he went beyond that and it was an outlier. For a player of his skill and potential his teams always underperformed thanks to the way he played. Please get a co-host who is not a yes man.
LOL, Melo only mentioned the Joker the first time. Now he's getting all defensive. Denver will retire 15 because the Joker has done a lot for the franchise.
I'm just not sure why your still saying you didn't demand your way out of Denver bro. I absolutely we absolutely loved you here in Denver bro. You straight broke our and the franchises hearts. And then didn't even say bye or thanks nothing when you moved on to bigger and better things.
You refuse to understand his POV
Keep podcasts coming
No more espn needed
Is only right melo number retired why even give joker 15
Because of the way Melo stormed out, and other players received that number before Jokic.
Anthony Randolph
