LYRICS:
How lovely is thy dwelling place, O Lord of hosts!
My soul ever longeth and fainteth for the blest courts of the Lord; my heart and
flesh rejoice in God, yea in the living God.
Blest are they who dwell within thy house, they praise thy Name evermore.
Psalm 84, vv. 1, 2
This is the fourth of the seven movements of Brahms's 'Ein deutsches Requiem' of 1868. Its fluently melodious, gracious style, reminiscent of the composer's 'Liebeslieder' waltzes, established it as a favourite in its own right. 'How lovely is thy dwelling place' was sung at the funeral of HM The Queen Mother in 2002.
This is the day
The music on this album recollects, and celebrates, some of the choral music heard on royal occasions in England during the lifetime of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
John Rutter, English composer and conductor, is associated with choral music throughout the world. His recordings with the Cambridge Singers (the professional chamber choir he set up in 1983) have reached a wide global audience, many of them featuring his own music in definitive versions. Among John’s best-known choral works are Gloria, Requiem, Magnificat, Mass of the Children, and Visions, together with many church anthems, choral songs and Christmas carols.

A beautiful song from Psalm 84!
Wonderful...but not many choirs can face this chalenge
Gorgeous!
This song is from the German Requiem by Johannes Brahms.
This is by far the best recording of this piece I have heard - the wonderful clarinet triads, beautiful tenor especially and sensitive orchestral backing.
That is absolutely exquisite ❤
This one of the best recordings I have heard,!
Lovely

Heavenly beautiful song
Ouvi muitos anos atrás com o Coral da. PRESBITERIANA DE VILA MARIANA. Nao é comum ouvir pq da muito trabalho ensaiar. Nem todo coral está à altura.
Durifke requiem kyroe
This piece is not from Duruflé’s “Requiem” … it is from Brahms’ “Ein deutsches Requiem”
