      @Po Nomo before VC got hurt, VC was definitely better than Kobe. Kobe just had the luxury of Shaq in the frontcourt. After the injury, Kobe did surpass Vince. But you need to stop. VC was stronger, quicker first step, better 3 point shooter, free throw shooter and shot blocker from 99-02 before the injuries.

    Jones talkin DRUNK. We ALL saw Kobe give that man hell on countless occasions till the point all he had left was to try to hurt that guy. Vince wasn't out there ever working Jones like Kobe was. And truth be told no one ever looked at Jones as a defensive player. He was hella pesky but not on a Tony Allen/Shane Battier level. Not a knock on Vince cause he was a BEAST but to say Kobe didn't give you problems like Vince did... WILDIN.

      It's different for some players. Someone just had the skill set that you couldn't deal with as good as someone else. Vince was way more athletic than Kobe so that's probably what Jones had the most problems with. I remember Ron Artest, who played against Kobe, MJ, Iverson, Vince, and every other great scorer you can think of said that Brandon Roy was the hardest player to guard.

    I remember watching the game where jones slid that foot under Kobe at Atlanta. Kobe was cooking him up. Most of his career Jones was a solid defender, but he would get cooked up.

      Vince was something special, but the lack of a championship makes people sleep on him. I've heard Richard Jefferson and Matt Barnes say he was flat out the most talented player they ever played against. Arenas also made a similar point that if Vince got angry, you realized he was the most talented player and simply unstoppable. Back when Igoduola was a defensive stopper with the Sixers, he said in an interview that Vince was the most difficult player to guard. He was something special.

    Saw Dahntay & Jay Williams playing pick-up at the Duke Rec center around 2001-2002.
    Dahntay was freaking ripped back in the day. I know most basketball players have low bodyfat but he and Jay Will also had some muscle relative to other basketball players during that timeframe.
    Dude was super athletic.

      T-Mac was exactly who I was thinking of when they mentioned that list. That guy had similar skills and athleticism as VC and Kobe, but had more length than both... took it harder to the basket than VC and was a better 3 point shooter than Kobe. Not saying T-Mac was better... in case I am gonna rile up all the haters, cause I do think T-Mac didn't want your heart like Kobe did, but I do think T-Mac and Vince did suffer from the "game being too easy" for them and not really being as maniacal as KB to be great!

    I tell my kids how in HS we did a 3 on 2, 2 on 1 and D Jones, who was a year ahead of me was the 1 coming back and slipped and he ran like hell and thought he was gonna block the hell out of my shot. Well I threw the best head fake of my life and I will always remember the look on his face and hearing him say oh sh*t as he flew by me. Then the coach made him run for leaving his feet and not blocking the shot and for cursing. Best part was everyone going ooohhhhh. And laughing. I even remember seeing the coaches laughing and they didn’t do that very much.
