I loved this! Again, completely blown away by how this thing didn't put up much of a fight, barring a few hiccups here and there, and the best part is that no self-tapping screws were involved. Can't wait for episode #4
No self tappers ever!
You slapped this thing together like a LEGO!!!! Dude *thanks for the update* great video. This car is perfect, a mid engine 6 cyl manual from Porsche, designed for the track? You look like a kid with a new toy! She also sounds awesome. Looking forward to the 997 TT.
Should rename the channel to scrap life rebuilds. Love how you all work and have fun together, should be a blast to go to work cause it's more like hanging out with your boys
It’s fun most of the time!
Super underrated channel. More builds baby! 🤙🏼
We’re cranking em out as fast as we can!
Nice progress! Excited to see this MR2 get wrapped!
Ha Ha nice one.. this GT4 will definitely leave the tiny MR2 at any traffic-lights (not to mention the usual Porsche playgrounds : - > tracks)...
30 years separate the two. I’ve owned both. Each is unique. Any enthusiast garage would do well to have one of each.
Hi first time where I bay porche parts
Great job on the GT4. Very impressive. Now it's time to get that 997 Turbo going. Thank you for another great video. Happy Motoring Guys!
Glad you enjoyed it!
FYI panel bond don’t stick to paint. And the rivets was all you needed. You can drill the holes out of it. Then sand all the back down to steel then panel bond it. Letting the panel bond come out the holes wire brush the holes. And it will look like factory spot welds.
16:45 you misspelt (Juke) Junk! 😜
Great video as always guys 👍🏻
Cheers Pat 🇦🇺
I always center punch the rivets and then drill with a bit just a tad smaller than the shank. Of course, that's when I'm trying to salvage the piece. But I don't understand why you're drilling out the size of the head, all the way though...
Great channel! You all have done a great job, except for the juke’s horn! Would love to know when 4 sale.
All u Porsche guys are the same. Hating on the Jukes horn 😁
Anania, don’t mind the juke pheasant…
The car will be auctioned off after the LA auto show.
The reason you always pull before you cut parts off is because when it's damaged the energy from the damage travels so if you leave the damaged part on when you pull it it pulls those other parts back out with it
Sick! Great Job! This was a fun one to watch. Cant wait to see it wrapped. 👍🏻
There's a ton of work to do and 2 tons of talking to go with it. Good job!
So happy I came across this channel a long time ago. Keep it up! So enjoyable!
So underrated for the amount of subscribers
Thank both you guys! I speak for Austin as well, when we do something we try to do it 200%, I think the subs will some if we keep putting out good stuff!
@@scraplifegarage It's such a unique fun channel, you guys seem like a ggroup of best friends that truly enjoy what yall do and that's what is important the most. You have a used parts business and do fun in depth UA-cam stuff. Keep up the good work and just stay true/honest to yourselves and we will be here.
Haha I used to go to Salisbury salvage inspection all the time inspectors are pretty cool about passing them can’t wait to see the wrap !
Amazing rebirth. Maybe add a Phoenix decal on the bumper, or lower corner on the hatch, to signify this car’s immortality.
I've never been a P-car guy but i've enjoyed this series. Turned out great!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Cayman GT4
Everyone was standing up applauding how flawless this is happening.
then
Everyone sat down and had to figure out another option for those special drill bits.
then
Everyone was standing up at such rapid success.
then
Everyone sat down and scratched their heads why the drivers side bumper didn’t fit.
then
Everyone moved quickly to get that wrong bumper right and then snap and screw parts on
.
THEN the car started and drove out of the garage with the new owner, getting ready for a new car color, a new life where the new owner loves this car more than any of the previous owners; now and into the future

Hi, nice channel. Question for you, when you took the car to the title inspector, did he issue a non salvage title?
Great video! This is going to be a great track car, hell a great car for the Tail of the Dragon!
Fortunately she will see the dragon soon!
@@scraplifegarage NICE!!!!
Amazing job guys you have saved another beautiful car
Can we get a Porsche vs juke video?
“Self Tapper SHOWDOWN | Porsche GT4 vs Nissan Juke!”
AWESOME work, on an AWESOME car. Great outtakes at the end again too. LOL
Ebay tour ?
@legitstreetcars just announced his SVT Lightning is on the EBay tour. These guys must’ve been invited too!
😎
Was literally just in ur shop buying your boys is300 crazy 😂
Glad you all made it home safe!
Love these build series brotha!!!!!
Looks good guys keep up the great work
Would love to see how you figure out the HVAC controls, have a buddy with the same issues atm.
We actually already fixed it. Due to low voltage the hvac had like 10 codes, once I cleared them all stayed away and everything worked EXCEPT a 1900 compressor run in code. I could clear all the codes with the icarsoft Porsche scanner. However it seemed to “forget” the compressor. The run in process had to be fixed by a Porsche tech with PIWIS.
Now everything is working great.
@@scraplifegarage Really appreciate it, good luck with all the future events with it. Looking forward to watching what's next!
cant wait for the ebay motors nationwide tour
Is there a external climate sensor missing that is preventing your unit from gaging how to heat or cool your car?
That was one of the codes, being that it was started without the ambient temp sensor. It was just a bunch of code clearing with an icarsoft scanner and “resetting” the compressor run in with PIWIS
7:47 So close, Shh toot gart :D
Stootguart people are really proud
You remind me of Josh Gate's from Distination unknown
I'm loving your guys channel. Keep up the great content!
Much appreciated’ thanks for watching!
it would be so awesome to get a job with you guys, what a dream
Great rebuild! Love this channel!
@ScrapLife Garage Can one of y’all clip that little bit of thread on the back of the steering wheel? It’s been driving me nuts since the first video.
Can’t say I’ve noticed it, but I bet I will now 🤣
Going on the ebay motors tour
😎
You should do a price run down. And you really should paint it in primer before you send it to wrap. I know your on a tight deadline. So you can’t paint it before wrap
You do know that with a grinder some patience and some skill you can sharpen drill bits that size..
You men do great work 💪very cool 😎 that car will be excellent 👌
I’m already loving it, I’m sure it’ll be even better when it doesn’t look like a 4 color mess
Nice rebuild 👍👍👍 to be honest, from the side, the two different colors sorta looks good. Lol.
The blue hood kills it 🤣
Great job lads!
Love the series love to see more
There will be more, trust me!
My 911 had climate control issue and was caused from ambient temperature sensor… it would sometimes have ac and was wacky the outside temp read wrong therefore couldn’t adjust the AC , simple sensor replacement, look for a pulled wire in connector because I replaced sensor and the connectors going end had pulled making bad contact.
It is really interesting what happend with youre Fender. I work at a Porsche Dealership in Germany and we had the same Thing happen a few weeks ago.
Very interesting
What's going on with your 911 Turbo? Is the engine still getting built?
Engine is still being built yes, also waiting on one important body piece that is back ordered which is holding up paint. Hoping to get an interior episode up in the meantime.
@@LeeC Really look forward to seeing the project progress.
About to me the LeeC giveaway car. ;)
You did a great job 👏👏👏👏. Let us know if it is for sale. I have interest in buying it
For the love of God. It's Por-shuh! Not a hater since I love the channel but a guy can only take so much.
It’s por-shuh to guys that sit down to pee
I hope bad jokes and wrecked cars are enough to keep you around because I don’t think poor sha is in the cards.
@@benjaminhess6997 I'm a busy guy. Sit down to pee, check messages.
It's a German company with a German name. In German, the "e" at the end of the word is pronounced "uh" (like a short "a" sound). In Hebrew, it's "Ben-yuh-min" [Netanyahu] but since you're not from Israel, in English your name is "Ben-ji-min" (although with a German last name of Hess, if you lived in Germany like your anscestors, it would indeed be a "yuh" sound.) So it is "por-sha", just like Jaguar is "jag-you-are", not "jag-wire".
@@hunterjohnson7393 Thank you I really needed that information.. by the way I say jag-wire also
Get your party man in there pull some pressure on that back panel and hammer and Dolly all those vents parts it'll come right out You won't have to change that panel
Good stuff mate!
Also you never remove a part that's going to be attached to something you straightening until you start pulling it You use the part you're removing as a point to pull
Fun little car to drive.
Love this series and you guys!
Much appreciated!
Three fingers to be precise. Nice
How is going to go for once is ready? I am interested
I think it’ll sell around 100. It’ll be for sale the end of November
Bet the juke would smoke this thing around the track 😁
You know DAMN well that juke isn’t passing tech at the track!
They’re gonna see the self tappers and drag you out of there by the ponytail.
That would be the only chance u have! H8rs gonna h8
this part is the gate opener module normally 433mhz
wow that front tub is hella complicated!! no wonder my car got totaled
lol that's so volkwagen that they send you the parts for the wrong model
You can sharpen drill bits
Love these GT cars. You dud really well. Shane it isn't getting painted properly
It’ll make more sense next week, I totally agree with you, but there’s just not time until later in the fall’
And to think I've owned a body shop all my life I could have been just showing videos of all the employees working...LOL
Looks like the painter was a few shades off on the hood.
You really can’t tell in person, it’s way closer than it looks in the video
Y'all need to get a Salt Rifle from the hardware store to kill the flies....totally worth it.
THANK YOU. I had no idea that existed.
Its schtut guard = stuttgart lol.. how much smiles per gallon you guys get from the car?
650 or so
@@scraplifegarage i like your style
The dundalk comment had me laughing. You should put porsche badges except it says dundalk and has an outline of the key bridge.
Sounds like the perfect wall art’
belt grinder for spot welds/rivets...quit using a drill bit, you're welcome
A benefit to have the engine in the rear, otherwise you had some dozens additional parts to replace.
So sick
what has happened to your turbo porsche?
She sits waiting a body panel that is holding the car up from paint and and the engine
Are you going to sale that car ?
eventually, yes
Porche isnt under the new "Right To Repair" law like everyone else is? I figure if John Deer, Apple and Stihl have to comply, why doesn't Porche? All that does it make me never want another porche, ever.
I’m not a lawyer so I won’t even pretend to know why they can or can’t sell structural parts.
c8 corvettes are the same, some parts can only be sold to specialty repair shops. I think its a liability thing, so they don't get held responsible if somthing goes wrong.
It’s Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen
Maybe you should get a drill doctor 🤔
Good suggestion, I’m not sure they would work on spot weld bits being they are flat ended but who knows
🔥🔥
Another good video highlighting the pitfalls of car repairs
But why were you dressed as Ali g in the video
Its amazing how Porsche is like can't sell you that part, wont actually send you the parts we will sell you.
Sweet
Pronounced STUT-GUARD = Stuttgart is the capital and largest city of the German,
The city is known as the "cradle of the automobile". As such, it is home to famous automobile museums like the Porsche Museum and lesser known cars like Mercedes-Benz Museum, as well as numerous auto-enthusiast magazines, which contributes to Stuttgart's status as Germany's "Autohauptstadt" ("car capital city"). INFORMATION FROM RONEDEE @ PORSCHE 997 RETROFIT & CUSTOM
Thanks for the info!
Unless your using it as a track car you should REALLY GET IT RESPRAYED 1 to the value of the car 2 all wraps come of eventually
I 100% agree.
It’ll make more sense next episode! If it were a straight rebuild and sell, I’d 100% respray it.
Gonna be controversial and say I prefer this car to the 911 xD
Lots of people say that’s the case these days!
The GT4 sounds good because it has the same engine as a 911 , but the basic 4 cylinder Cayman sounds like absolute ass .
Ya What they said👇
Hi very good cars porsche
Sell the 997 Turbo and keep the GT4…. You won’t regret it!
Can’t do it!
No back seats in GT4!
Turbo is so comfy and fun for a daily! Love the Turbo for a multi-use car
I don't understand why you're removing that upper panel a good body man could hammer and Dolly that right back to straight
It's "Shtutgart"
Wassup
You wouldn't sell me the NXS...Would you sell me the GT4?
Porsch? is this goonzquad?
Without the accent
Don’t really care for pop rivets replacing spot welds, but hey, it’s not my car…
Tour with eBay motors ha.
It’s the eBay tour. We all know already. 😑
No one knew when I recorded this 😅
But yes, can’t wait to share all the details, the stops, the side projects and of course, which cars we’re taking 😉
Sh-tut-gart
Ever hear of lube on a drill bit, what a hacker.
I don’t put lube in my transmissions either, it’s cool.
So you rebuilt a GT4 with rivets? 🤦🏻
Don’t forget the Forklift and chain
One day y'all might even pronounce Porsche properly. We can hope.
Don’t hold your breath
Overpriced and rebuilt
I think you just came up with the new company slogan!
