God, Magog, and the Antichrist: Understanding Current Events and the Biblical End Times

- Prophecy expert and author Todd Hampson says it's incredibly "compelling" to watch current events unfold in a way he believes matches biblical events and end times theology. "To think that all that had just started falling into place within the last decade, really," Hampson told CBN's Faithwire, explaining how modern events comport with biblical narratives. "For years, people would teach on the Ezekiel 38 war and say, 'It's going to be Russia, Iran, and Turkey as the main players and a few other countries.'"
But the "The Non-Prophet’s Guide to the Book of Daniel" author said some critics wondered how Islamic nations like Iran and Turkey would combine efforts with a country like Russia. Hampson, though, said these partnerships are now very much coming to fruition. "We see it happening. They literally have agreements right now," he said. "Russia and Iran, for example, have military agreements because of the war in Ukraine, where they're officially ... tying themselves together, and they've gotten closer."
Hampson said there's understandable speculation around the Gog and Magog text found in Ezekiel 38, as definitive details aren't presented in Scripture. That said, many believe Russia is Magog, and that some of the aforementioned key nations will take part in these eschatological events. "The most compelling thing is the fact that Russia, Iran, and Turkey are aligned right now," he said. "And it even says in that prophecy that they'll come, they'll attack Israel from the north, from the mountains."
Hampson believes the "stage [is] being so clearly set for that." Israel's rebirth in 1948 is another event he believes is centered on prophetic Scripture, particularly Ezekiel's mention of the "valley of dry bones" in Ezekiel 37; this is seen as a prediction of Israel's rebirth. "Every Old Testament prophet, except for Jonah, predicted that Israel would become a nation again in the last days, and that its people would be gathered from all over the world back to their original homeland," Hampson said. "So, anybody who says Israel becoming a nation again in 1948 is not a fulfillment of prophecy is either twisting Scripture or ignoring Scripture."

@@TriciaPerry-lf3sz Read your Bible everyday and study, study, study. If you can find a Nelson Study Bible get one of those. It has blocks in it that explain the hard passages that are hard to understand. I've learned a lot since I got my Nelson Bible. It's in KJV version too.

The place I came from 30 years ago shows devign intervention in my life. I too discovered the Bible at age 10. I am in my 40's. Never thought I'd see what they were preaching about come to fruition. It's strange, I embrace the end, prolly because I'm saved. It's my only explanation.

None of what you said is true or real.
The majority of the prophecies in Daniel and Revelation have already been fulfilled which brings me to this observation. The main purpose for God giving us these prophecies is to reassure us that He knows what is coming and not for us to be able to predict the exact nature of what will happen. Once a prophecy Is fulfilled we can look at it and say, "Oh, that is what it meant!" In the meantime we are reassured that God is not being caught off guard but is prepared for and knows how to deal with what is happening.
Revelation 13 hasn't happened yet. But it is getting closer every day. Once we're a totally cashless society then it will be fulfilled.

Worth watching! Never heard of Todd Hampson before this video, I am highly impressed! His response at 7:30 in delineating a wrong belief that isn't heresy because it's not a salvation issue was profound, and one I hadn't consciously made myself.
His other very notable delineation was regarding the penalty, power, and presence of sin at 12:17. Though I did know this data already, I loved his simplistic summary that even a child could understand.
And his alliteration here was reminiscent of Dr. David Jeremiah, whom I greatly respect for his honest, simple, effective and enjoyable pastoring. GOD BLESS EVERYONE WHO SPEAKS GOD'S TRUTHS!

It makes no sense. I thought the rapture was going to happen in 1988 , mostly due to my father. I spent decades later trying to unravel what happened. End times mania has been going on for thousands of years , particularly from Kabbala, Gnostic and Neo Platonism that despise the material world. Jude is probably the best place to read in whole that the end times as they saw it was then , in their generation. Not the only place either. Hebrews and John 2 confirms.
God did not create the modern state of Israel. Edmond Rothschild did, and the enormous wealth at his disposable had the means to influence a world war. In a way I believe what my father did. Israel did not happen by chance, but there is nothing Godly about it. Even Napoleon was trying to win favor of the world Zionist movement because they also had gold, just like the US did with their Louisiana purchase. Anyone who cares to do so may look this up.
And that gathering to Israel....completely inconsistent with Deuteronomy. Even Torah Jews agree with this. The Covenant does not specify Israel to be gathered and punished. they are punished by scattering them from the land. Modern Israel is not a religious revival.

However its not the bible they are following, its the Zohar. Kabbalah . They are also far more accurate for 2 reasons. I have followed Jesus since I was a very young child, questioning the priest why I had to tell him my 'sins' (what sins does a 5 year old have) and not Jesus set me off for a young leaving of the family beliefs. From a youngish age I have always felt that I would not die but be taken in the rapture, I have been watching, waiting and learning, there is so much to learn, and I am now 70, every day I see we are closer to going home.

Surely, the Inspired prophetic writers and Jesus did not get the century of the Parousia wrong.
They were not confused or lacked discernment or lied.
The first and second coming of Christ were in the first century. The Parousia was in the first century, according to these Scriptures, and many more. Start with these above.

As you may know, believers who lived in the Apostolic era believed that Jesus was going to return in their own lifetime. This expectation was in strict accordance with the Lord's own Word:
"Jesus said to His disciples, '...The Son of Man is about to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and will then recompense every man according to his deeds. Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who shall not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.'" (Matt. 16:24,27-28)
But after Jersualem fell in A.D. 70, and the Second Coming and the destruction of heaven and earth had not happened literally, sub-apostolic teachers then came up with the concept of the "Parousia delay." We see this concept most notably in the Epistle of Barnabas (written shortly after the fall of Jerusalem) and in the Shepherd of Hermas. (c. A.D. 85-140)
In the Epistle of Barnabas, it was taught that because Jerusalem had recently fallen, believers could be sure that Jesus was about to come at any moment. And the Shepherd of Hermas was written to explain why there had been a delay in the Church's original, Apostolic expectation.
The Second Coming of Christ and the fall of Jerusalem were gradually dichotomized in the years that followed A.D. 70. As the centuries rolled on, the two events eventually became unrelated in the mind of most.
The early abandonment of the eschatology of the Apostolic era was not a reflection on the teaching abilities of the Apostles, but it was a reflection on our slowness in comprehending some of the more difficult teachings of the Apostles. (II Peter 3:16) Polycarp, Bishop of Smyrna, (c. A.D. 150) was refreshingly humble and honest in this regard:
"For neither am I, nor is any other like unto me, able to follow the wisdom of the blessed and glorious Paul..." (Epistle of Polycarp to the Philippians, 3:2).
Preterism is condemned by many futurists today as a damnable heresy. Yet there is little debate on the following point:
The first century, apostolic Church expected the Parousia to take place within the lifetime of the Apostles.
It necessarily follows from that admission that every doctrine today that teaches that the Parousia of Christ did not take place within the lifetime of the Apostles is a flat denial of the original eschatology of the Church.
Since preterism (the doctrine that the Parousia was to take place within the lifetime of the Apostles) was the original eschatology of the Apostolic Church, we can rest assured that it is infinitely more trustworthy and authoritative than all of the "eschatologies," so called, that were "developed" subsequently.
The original and infallible eschatology that God revealed to the Apostolic Church, and which was believed and taught by the Church from A.D. 30-70, should be believed by us with all of our hearts and minds, that is, if we truly believe that the Apostles and prophets are the foundation of the eternal City of God. (Eph. 2:20; Rev. 21:14)
A momentous work of the modern Church in coming days will be its eschatological reformation, its submission to Apostolic / preterist eschatology. May certain Church leaders today emulate the humility of Polycarp, and cease in their virtually unqualified veneration of the Creeds, and at last confess the possibility that the historic Church has erred in its eschatology.
In thus humbling ourselves in the sight of the Lord, we will discover a more biblical worldview, and will bring glory to the Eternal Gospel. Amen.

I agree with most of the video, the part in these that always throws me off is when someone brings up "Rapture". I wholeheartedly believe and also see it well to criticize the fact that one day all the believers in Christ will not have to live on earth to experience the tribulations or so to say... Live through them as with the rest of humanity. Again, pointing to the Old Testament; God brought Noah through the floods, not out of them. God bless and stay safe 🙏🙏
I'd also point to the temptation of Jesus as one of them, if he had to endure temptation in the wilderness, when according to the devil himself, "Surely God would not allow you to dash your foot against a stone," or "He will send his angels to rescue you..." Are you sure we are in the end times? Is this what the Scriptures say, or is this what modern day prophecy teachers say? And where do they get it from, the newspapers, CNN, or maybe You tube? Most are going to say from the bible. Do you know that the " end time " had to do with the Old Mosaic Covenant. We have been in the New Covenant for 2000 years now. Search the Scriptures to see whether it's so.

I disagree with his theory on a pre-trib rapture! The epistle Jude is written to the church in the tribulation..... Paul makes it clear the church is going no where until the antichrist takes the seen. 2Thess. 2:1-7….. the rapture takes place at the last trumpet sounds number seven. 1Cor. 15:52-53; I These. 4:14-20. Rev. 10th. 11:1-15.... Matt 24:29-40. Which is the second coming at the day of the Lord. Rev. 6:1-20...
