  • Been sitting on this video for a bit now, but finally got around to editing it. Caught a ton of fish at Lake Perris over the summer but had a hard time finding the right ones. Nothing beats a day out on the water though!

I fish Perris regularly during spring and summer. I was fortunate enough to catch a 10 pounder last year on a DRT Klash swimbait. Definitely saw a ton of big fish on the East end and backside of the island. Nice video and good luck out there this year!

I was using a roboworm 4.5" straight tail on a dropshot. A pretty common and effective technique in SoCal

I've seen people do very well out there fishing from the shore. Usually the dam side of the lake, or the rock jetties around the marina are good shore spots!

You're in luck! I was just out there last wednesday for a quick morning sesh and caught 20+ fish! 6-8lb flouro on 10-15lb braid was what I was using to throw weightless wacky rigged senkos in the flooded brush 3-8ft deep. There are fish on beds right now too! I would focus on the east side of the lake where it's shallower and warmer. Good luck!

This is just a tough time of year to be bank fishing, the fish are mostly sitting offshore in places where shore anglers often can't reach. Good news is, the springtime is the best time for shore guys typically. You can even find bass up on beds on Perris with its clear water. Definitely try again this spring, the first warm week of the year can often times bring a lot of bass up shallow from their deep winter homes. This can happen as early as february here in Cali. Good luck!

@@smallrodsquad3539 thank you so much I will, look forward towards February, I did have one question, and that was what bait or lures did you use to the fish?

@@deltakatelyn09 In cali, one of the best ways to catch bass is with a dropshot. For Perris, I love a 4.5" roboworm straight tail worm in morning dawn. 6lb line with a size 4 or 2 mosquito hook is preferred. If you're fishing around wood, I like to use a size 1 or 1/0 owner covershot hook. 3/16oz dropshot weights are my go-to, although if you're getting snagged too much, going lighter to an 1/8oz should help. Feel free to reach out to my email isaacliang15@gmail.com if you have any more questions!
