6:07 Kenny didn't do anything wrong with Godo. His second effect reads "Whenever Godo attacks for the first time each turn, untap IT AND all Samurai you control. After this phase, there is an additional combat phase." The effect untaps himself AND all samurai, not just samurai.
I like the new angle! The life overlays are in a good spot as they are too. Visibility has really improved compared to older videos, which is nice for the fans who haven't been playing since 1994 and don't know every card by heart.
I don't understand... Fully two people had a chance to destroy Paradox Engine like you said... That card says "Do not pass go, do not collect $200, destroy on sight". Never trust someone with that card. I never play it myself unless I plan to win that turn.
Big fan of the new camera angle! Earlier I felt it was difficult to tell what was happening on the far side. And agree with the Paradox Engine comments... was missed as a major threat.
I was impressed at how well Dan's deck worked even when Mayael wasn't out! I'm so happy there's a decklist included, definitely going to grab some of these cards =)
@@ClassicalDan1 Update: This has become one of my favorite decks. The first time I played it, nobody knew it was wurm tribal going into it as a six pod. I got Lurking Predators and it was so hype for everyone every time I flipped off the top of my library haha. They were like "WTF is this deck ALL wurms??" I don't always win, but some of the big finishers like Kindred Charge have closed it out for me. Thanks!
i liked seeing the faces tbh. it was a different angle then other channels but was still top quality content and commentary. as long as you follow mtg/the video and know what the cards do it isnt hard to keep up! keep up the great work muddstah!
I really love your bit about how you acquired the tripod extender. That being said as a long time watcher I’m excited moving forward because this was a lot easier to follow.
I was immediately intrigued to see a game with no blue decks, but was even happier to see that amazing intro! I look forward to seeing how things look with the new angle!! :D
Glad you're doing an overhead view. The from the side view isn't great for card games where you're trying to figure out what exactly is going on. Keep up the great work man, I really appreciate your content
I love the new view! The glare didn't really bother me much since you put what they played in the middle of the screen anyways. Keep up the good work! :)
Killa Watt When I saw that card and the sac possibilities it had for my wurm deck (worldspine, symbiotic and penumbra wurms) I knew I needed to add it in
LtdEcho yeah I don't play it too often because it gets groans from around the table. It's control on roids. Unless you play tokens you ain't having a creature. LOL.
Dannyg good call. It's a hidden gem for certain builds. Nothing better than stealing a creature. Swinging with it and then sacrificing it for mana. Even for a deck that doesn't necessarily steal creatures. It's good just in a deck that wants creatures to die.
Great video, great game and love the new angle! The glare was the main issue and I found the bottom of the screen was a little crowded but all in all loved it!
7:00 he is told wrong the card says that Godo itself and samurai untap. Kenny got dunked on. Edit: then he gets hated out first and sits there patiently waiting out the rest of the game?! Good men are taken from us too soon...
Doesn't everyone react the same way when they find cool stuff in their house? The new view is definitely better for seeing the game play, but I hope we don't lose the in-jokes like Evil Adam, Trevor flexing, and "Summon Sandwich" because we can't see the players. Regardless, congrats on the new toy! Maybe go whack a Paradox Engine with it. :)
Holy moly!!! I became interested in Neheb the Eternal and just wanted to check out whether there are some gameplays with him or not...and BOOOOOMMMM: it's Muddstah uploading time :-D Thanks very much!!! Made my day!
I think Mono-Red might be the most fun Mono-color decks for Commander. It can do a ton of fun and chaotic stuff while also needing to use artifacts to make up for what it lacks i.e. non-creature/ non-artifact removal and drawing cards. Blue and Black are a little too oppressive in Mono-color, White doesn't do enough unless you go Voltron/equipment, and Green basically just spams creatures. Also this is coming from a predominantly Blue player so it isn't like I am biased towards Red.
white is doing just fine for me, just like red it need help of artifacts for ramp but even if i have less draw than red(red draw is not that bad at all) i have much better removal so yea...white is doing just fine
Frankly, mono-White just bores me. It either does tokens or equipment. There is also a little bit of control with some stax cards that minimize what your opponents can do. It doesn't do anything I like or am drawn to. The only mono-White deck I might build is a Darien Soldier tribal because he has an interesting effect that seems like it can get out of hand fast. I just don't personally find it interesting at all. Maybe it isn't bad but it doesn't appeal to me.
+grimmbrother01 sure just play what you like...i am playing heliod with etb/reanimator theme and heliod is used to combo with skybind, serra sanctum or as altar fodder....i can even win eith his tokens after i tap whole board with yosei each turn XD
+ive pesusic Do you have a decklist I can check out? I've been trying make mono-white work for a long time, and every time I try it always does very poorly in my play group
Love the new angle, I don't have any comments on it that haven't been mentioned, keep playing with it, I cant wait to see how it looks on Thursday. I was so surprised when Ulamog hit and didn't take out Paradox, thought well that's gonna hurt in a few turns :D
I'm seeing that reply a lot actually. I may move forward with this view though. Lots of people I play with are uncomfortable with having their faces on camera, so this seems like the best solution and would be more inclusive for people. We'll see though!
MTG Muddstah If this means more players and more generals , I’d be so down. Maybe having a player reaction cam would be funny at some point? I don’t do videography or anything and you do this all the time so I trust in you. Thanks for getting me back into EDH.
Love the new camera angle!! I can't wait to see more games. I can't wait for someone to use Sen Triplets as their commander on this show same with Saskia the Unyielding.
First of all, great improvement with the new angle!!!! And I'm loving Neheb, I've seen him do so many stuff every single game... he was pretty close on this one. Is it just me or does Neheb give the patience and order much needed to red, making it seem like a control deck at times, and it just goes off and multiplies mana. You may see I'm a bit of a Neheb fanboy...
Unai Alday I don’t know if Kenny was playing with any mass land destruction or not, but it goes great in Neheb. Nut draw would be: 1) mountain, fast mana 2) mountain, lightning greave 3) mountain, Neheb. Equip greaves and attack. 2nd main phase wildfire or cycle decree of annihilation. If you can have an opening like this most people will scoop outright since it is just too much advantage.
Bins Wanger yeah, it would make sense to scoop against that 😂 He wasn't playing land destruction but the amount of boardwipes and spells that deals damage to creatures means he was pushing oponents behind.
Unai Alday my neheb deck is just a combo deck every possible decent mana rock to get neheb out quickly attack with or use burn spells to generate extra mana then cast agro assault for inf attack steps or just cast big eldrazis to win with also wheel of fortunes etc to find pieces I need im actually considering to make red green black neheb just to have better removal and tutors to make it more consistent
Kurkesh has much value! The new camera angle is cool, but u need to find a table with better lighting to prevent glare. I also agree with the weird threat assessment. That Paradox Engine should have been Public Enemy #1 the moment it hits the field! Anyway, thanks for a fun and enjoyable game video!
Angle is good. Glare can be resolves by a fabric that can be hung over the play area (and that's way too much work imo). Godo untaps himself. Always kill paradox engine.
I love the new set up - can see the cards very clearly. I loved the old set up too though - seeing the players and their reactions when something crazy happened.
The first time you mentioned the Godo trigger was played wrong you were incorrect. Godo's ability specifies "untap IT and all Samurai you control." my emphasis. Congrats on the new toy! I like the angle and the goal for improving it further. In terms of display, I still think the vertical is great. It shows everything I care about and didn't really feel in the way to me. You could consider raising your render resolution, but keeping the recorded video resolution as it is, which will give you even more room. Otherwise, great as always, and I look forward to Thursday!
Dan should've noticed that Tom wasn't a threat after Don started a combo engine the turn earlier and failed to win. Don literally almost took the game on his own the turn before Kenny was taken out, and the turn after that he should've been the next target. I've always wanted to see a good Mayael deck in play, but this game absolutely refused to let Mayael stick and be useful and that was kind of sad...
Great improvement on the video quality. It was a bit off centered which made it difficult to focus on at times, but you more than made up for that you explaining all the interactions that were happening at the table. Thanks for your continued effort to make quality videos :)
This angle is definitely better- way easier to track board states. The glare is unfortunate but if you can figure out a way to deal with it it’ll be perfect.
Boros player here. Godo does untap itself, "it and all samurai" so he was correct the first time. Gotta know your cards...especially the ones that give you extra combat steps! :)
That was an amazing game. The new angel is a good start though I think you just need to find a way around that fisheye effect. I’m also happy to see a Kurkesh deck win so hard.
At first it was hard to focus on the upper row since they are upside down. But if you align the camera from the side so that all the play areas are sideways, it might need a bit more formatting on how to do the edges of the screen etc.
Hey, weirdo, turn off those cameras at home. BTW great improvement on the game shots a few tips that might help (hopefully), the wide angle lens tend to distort straight lines, specially towards the borders of the frame with that said you have 2 possible workarounds, 1st you may put the camera framing a broader area (raise it a little bit more) and then you crop the video to show the center-ish of the image only, that way things will look more straight but you'll lose precious pixels; the 2nd option is a post process software that corrects the lines, there is such thing for photos (photoshop) I want to believe it exists for video as well, the downside it's you'll probably have to invest on a proprietary software which are usually not so cheap. Again hope that helps, great vid, and please leave my paradox engines unattended :) . Cheers.
Paradox engine is a kill on sight card in my group, not just the card but the player everyone groups up against them if able. I like the new angle, I think it would be better once you sort out the angles and glare. I really enjoyed seeing the playmats, especially the sliver playmat.
Just wondering if y'all have house rules like no mass land destruction, because I've found that Neheb Eternal can usually survive a boardwipe like Obliterate (and it certainly looks like this deck was leaning that way)
I love it! Kinda hard to see some of the cards on the table due to glare but other then that I think it’s a huge upgrade! Whenever anyone In my group plays a paradox engine it instantly dies, i’m Happy don actually got to go off with it!
It could also be a factor of the focal length. If the zoom is adjustable, you could try placing the camera farther away, then zooming in more. That should reduce the fisheye distortion. Lighting adjustments could also help card clarity, but that's just extra :)
I see a lot of the same comments about the camera angle. So for some different point of view or constructive criticism. If you are going to be using the overhead angle consider blocking those store lights or adding lighting screens so that the sleeves do not reflect. I understand you are in a store and not a studio. But one or two will make a world of difference. Keep up the great content Muddstah!
this is a lot better! but now i can't see your beautiful faces
You can't have it both ways!
having the players lay on the table and look the camera straight in the eye should make it possible
Unless you film in 3D mode ;)
muddsta funds a way
+1 to Dan for playing cards I haven't seen in twenty years.
6:07 Kenny didn't do anything wrong with Godo. His second effect reads "Whenever Godo attacks for the first time each turn, untap IT AND all Samurai you control. After this phase, there is an additional combat phase." The effect untaps himself AND all samurai, not just samurai.
Godo says he untaps himself and all your samurai so Kenny was correct.
Yeah. I was about to comment the same. The hawkeye should've read the card, since that explains the card....
I've lost a game missing this trigger :(

I like the new camera angle and overlay
The new camera angle is great! Really makes it a lot easier to see and follow the game. Major improvement.

Great improvement on the video quality. It was a bit off centered which made it difficult to focus on at times, but you more than made up for that you explaining all the interactions that were happening at the table. Thanks for your continued effort to make quality videos :)
The centering should be fixed by next week. Today and Thursday's games were my first attempts, so they were a bit rough lol.

It will be!
It could also be a factor of the focal length.
If the zoom is adjustable, you could try placing the camera farther away, then zooming in more. That should reduce the fisheye distortion.
Lighting adjustments could also help card clarity, but that's just extra :)
I need that lantern playmat!
I'd suggest using darker mats instead of light colors, for contrast.
