    As someone who started skating at 40, exercises, food and working out are key to being able to skate for hours and have fun!
    I actually went to a personal trainer and asked for training sessions specific for skateboarding. She is amazing and did lots of research (she loves a challenge) and came up with heaps of exercises for strength, balance, and core. My knees don't hurt after a session no more. :)

      Same here m8, starting at 40 is a challenge but if you keep your body fit, we can do it :)))

      @@markvickery5894 Lunges, squats, planks, push-ups, upper body twists, calf and ankles. All with kettlebells, pretty much anything that challenges your core to keep your body balanced.

    This video is brilliant, as an aging skater, hobbyist, not even amateur, I'm findng my heel and Achilles in my push foot is starting not to hurt, but feel really off and it's a great reminder of how impermanent health really is, I can see you in a year or two this becoming a major issue and I'm starting to think about things like balance in health.
    Thanks.

    Hello from Spain, a beginner skater here, the biggest change in my progression was starting to skate swicht or fakie. The improvement was incredible, I feelt more stable, more reliable and confort. I think it is related to the balance of my body and your video. I do cycling and jump the rope too. Thanks for sharing man, I love your videos.Regards.

      @jamalempfehlung9841 the ankles were on big gaps, separate times. The toe was joking around on a board slide with a ledge that was really rough. The ACL was nose sliding a 7 stair handrail at night

    I have lower back problems all the time when I skate I spend 3 to 4 hours a day 5 to 6 days a week skating a bunch of flat ground. I pretty much skate in one stance and my lower back kills me.

    Is jumproping good for skaters?

    • @ThePurpleDruid
      @ThePurpleDruid 10 місяців тому

      Yes definitely helps you build a stronger and higher pop, good for cardio too... also try make marks on the ground to try keep your feet on one position to also practice coordination with the feet... I've drawn a skateboard on the ground with chalk once just to have a space to hop inside with the rope... that worked pretty nicely!! Goodluck and keep skating!!+
