- Let's talk Bama vs Georgia 2024. This instant classic had Jalen Milroe and Carson Beck going off. Ryan Williams proved yet again he's elite beyond his years. Kirby Smart crafted a comeback for the ages, but Bama was just too tough at home. We give our reaction.
As a Vols fan, I wanted to hate DeBoer so badly. But dammit, hes such a likeable guy. College football is better when the competition is good. Never thought I'd say this, but Congratulations, Bama, on the win. The 3rd Saturday in October is about to reach new heights... Go Vols!
As a Dawg fan I don’t find him likable at all 😂😂
Thanks man! Preciate that comment. Good luck this weekend against Ark. get the win!

You are right about football being better when the competition is better. Welcome back Tennessee. It’s been a long time!

I'd like to know where Bill O'Brien is right now?!? What he said...what he said about Jalen Milroe, I can not believe. That kid is a good QB right here.
Bill O’Brien is busily building Boston College from a complete wreck into a competent football team in his first season as head coach. He’s a very good coach, but maybe his transition back to college required more adjustments or maybe other factors played in the year. In any case, he can still coach football.
@@stephenlight647 you don't recognize the Ryan Day copypasta?
@@stephenlight647ironically, he’s doing it with a similar QB to Jalen. (Not as physically gifted, but similar skill set)
You think maybe he might’ve been motivating him? Especially considering we don’t really know the context in which he said it to him.
@@Saintnick9493 no.
And this is why I'll never pick UGA over Bama ever again I learnt my lesson last year
Let's be honest. I know georgia made adjustments but this game should've been a 20 point win for bama
Was definitely an off game. UGA only scored 1 TD on a drive that didn’t have a 4th down conv. 20 min in everything went out the window and UGA got to play with reckless abandon and that’s a very dangerous thing to go up against. Pretty sure 4th downs were 5/5 and then 2 others by penalty
Tbf though 4 turnovers and a safety is also something that usually wouldn’t happen
@@calebpittman2345true, but if you take away all the turnovers and all the 4th down conversions, Bama still wins this game easily
@@TallDwarfFromEreborI’d like to see first half Alabama vs 2nd half Georgia in the SEC title game
@@ECReeves it would be another instant classic
@@calebpittman2345that depends. In his 2 games against Bama, Beck has thrown roughly 8 passes that could have been picked. He’s not used to throwing into tight windows all game
Teams the last two weeks are 2-0 when Daniel says in the preview “I just can’t see them scoring enough points”. Do with that information what you will and bet responsibly 😂
Here you are back tracking again Daniel. You did it all year last year and here we are again. People want us to go away so bad it's starting to mess with their reality. ROLL DAMN TIDE!

UGA was forced to be agressive and play 4 downs all 2nd half. The offense wasn’t great outside the desperation. -dawgs fan
Best College Football Podcast Hands Down .
Carson Beck is not a good QB. He was totally fooled most of the night and the only point at which that changed was when Bama had such a huge lead that it changed the way both teams played. His turnovers and decision making were atrocious and most of his deep throws were woefully underthrown and relied upon the DB not turning around to make a play on it (which is what happened on the final pick to seal the game).
I have been waiting for this! Y’all are the best #burnthebarn
The new Bama coaching staff learned a valuable lesson: Never take your foot off the gas.
They didnt
They were running trick plays up 28 because Georgia adjusted the defense
@@devinorrell7883on defense, they absolutely did. They were only rushing 4 and playing deep most of the second half
@@nicholaskling2425 because the secondary is suspect and they needed extra men back there.
You Bama tards that think they went conservative in the 2nd half are as stupid as UGA fans blaming Bobo for this loss. Kirby’s 3-4 defense is incredibly vulnerable on edges without elite edge play which they just don’t have right now especially with Williams hurt. They completely changed their scheme in the 2nd going to a more traditional 4 man rush with 4 big boys up front. Pushed Chambliss out to play more traditional outside linebacker.
I jumped on your boom or bust comment last video. Your take on the UGA 4th down attempts is 1000% correct. Any other scenario, they'd never go for it like that. It made Kirby Smart look like Lane Kiffin. And if this game is played 5 times, I'd take Bama every time because I can't name a position on the field that I'd take a Georgia player over their Bama counterpart. That's not a dig at Georgia, but Alabama is simply a better team this year. That being said, Alabama HAS to get Jam Miller and Justice Haynes to convert those 3rd and 4th downs instead of getting cute. Any one of those plays get converted, the game is over. That's how thin that margin of a UGA comeback was.
I would take every single player on Georgias offensive line over Alabama’s. I would also take the Georgia RBs over Alabama’s that’s it though. I would take anyone else.
@@MH-0101 Why is that? One team gave up a sack and constant pressures. I'll let you guess which one. They did however play well without big mullet Ratledge. Bama RB's didn't have many yards, but cracked LB's with blocks all night, taking Jaylen Walker's hat off. The one thing they must do is improve on those conversions.
Don’t be so arrogant. Milroe and Ryan Williams were the difference and will 99% be the difference if they play again. Your defense looked gassed in the 2nd half though. Y’all blew a 28-0 lead at home with UGA turning the ball over 4 times. That should alarm you a bit.
@@Saintnick9493 nothing about what I said is arrogant. If I remember correctly Ryan had 1 of those 5 touchdowns. Who contributed to the rest? He made some great plays but the ball was distributed. Defense will only improve but anybody’s defense would be gassed if a team went for it on 4th and made it 5/5 times.
@@Saintnick9493why should we be alarmed we beat UGA by 7 and are proven contenders
On one side you have a team that got run up 28 to ZIP, and on the other side a team that gave up a 28 point lead to almost lose the game.
I never felt Alabama would lose that game. They could score at will against Georgia. It was just a matter of waiting for Carson Beck to lose the game.
I think it’s important to look at what these other top teams have.
Bama: Milroe and Williams
Ohio state: Howard and Smith
Miami: Ward and Restrepo
Tennessee: Nico and White/McCoy
Texas: Ewers/Manning and Bond
Now look at UGA: Beck and ?
The other contenders have mobile QBs (except maybe Ewers) and elite WRs. UGA has a statue and only okay WRs. Our offense is SEVERELY lacking elite speed playmakers. Arian has speed but lacks ball skills. Bell has ball skills but lacks elite speed. Lovett lacks elite speed but has ball skills. Our TEs are SEVERELY disappointing. Our defense looked slow and unathletic against Bama.
Our interior D line are just big bodies. They aren’t run stoppers they aren’t pressure providers. We have to rely on designed pressures and blitzes to get pressure on ANYONE which forces our DBs to play PERFECT coverage which we all know doesn’t happen. I love Chamblis… bless his heart… but he’s not a difference maker.
Beck is a really good QB. But he’s not a difference maker. We have an elite game manager. But if you have that him HAVE to have elite play makers for him to throw to and we don’t have that with McConkey and Bowers gone.
On top of all of this we’re extremely undisciplined. Both on and off the field. I think that’s the biggest thing that’s being overlooked. The off the field issues shows a lack of team discipline. What does that look like on the field? Missed tackles. Blown assignments. Running the wrong routes. Countless penalties. 5 OPIs, a couple holdings, 10+ missed tackles, jalon walker jumping offsides on 3rd and 9. Beck intentional grounding after sending all your wide outs on deep routes with an all out blitz in your end zone. Just mind numbing lack of discipline in nearly all facets of the game.
I agree with Josh Pate on his take: Kirby was THOROUGHLY outclassed in terms of coaching. BAMA may be a league above the rest but UGA barely scoring in the first half is a trend that should worry Dawg fans
Anyone that says Alabama didn’t get conservative and left off the gas don’t know ball whatsoever lmao.
I’ve played, coached, and watched football for 24 years.
In the 2nd Half on offense Alabama went very vanilla and stopped using motions and other eye candy.
Defense also went vanilla. 1st half they sent 5/6 every snap because if Beck can’t set his feet he sucks, but 2nd half it was 90% only 4. They also quit showing multiple looks to disguise coverage and pressure
A tale of halves and one long pass. In the 1st half I thought Alabama looked better than other team this year against of quality opponent. Then in the 2nd half they were a shell of themselves and then Georgia looked like the best team against a quality opponent all year. You didn't ask for it, but top 5. Texas, Alabama, OSU, Tennessee, Oregon. I still think Texas' win vs a top 10 opponent on the road is still the best win this year.
A big difference to me is that Bama had several chances to make it a blowout (muffed fair catch by GA inside the 10, a couple of near pick sixes by Bama, etc.) but just missed. Georgia had a chance to win but no chance to make it a blowout.
Alabama had a better game plan but Georgia made better half time adjustments on both sides of the ball which is why it was 27 - 10 Georgia in the second half. It wasn't just the improbable 4th down conversions. It was also Bama punting on all but two possessions. Glad Bama pulled it out but the half time adjustment issue was kind of glaring.
Georgia needs to be credit for 4th down 5/5. Bc this game would have been a blow out if they would have been 2/5 for 4th down. 😂
Or 3/5 😂
Not a fan of either of these teams. Not sure what to make of the tale of two halves. I was super impressed with Georgia's coaching staff coming into the second half. After that first half, virtually all coaches would have been coaching to "lose with honor". Georgia said nope, we going to use all four downs to hang on to a chance of winning as long as possible; and it pretty near paid off for them.
Georgia is at a real risk to lose at least 3 games.
Biggest thing that came from that Game is Georgia is now 1 - 9 in past 10 Head to Head and Kirby is 1 - 6. That has to mess with Georgia Players, Coaches, and Fans.
And them crutes
I’ve been a staunch Womack critic, but the reason the defense played poorly in the 2nd half was more due to GA using all 4 downs combined with Bamas offense puckering up. With what GA was doing on offense, the bama D just needed a little help from the O, and they got none. Bama had 3 1st downs in the 2nd half! You can’t do that when you know the opposing offense is in a groove with nothing to lose.
Agreed
And 8 got hurt
I was more impressed how Beck was able to settle down and play well.
LMAO dude picked georgia and now wanna act like he didnt know stuff. GTFOH
As Bama fan I knew Georgia would fix a lot of the issues at half time. I was hoping they would not fix that many.
Totally agree about missing the tackle on the last uga touchdown. Could have cost Bama the game 🐘🐘🌊🌊🌊
Im still nervous we dont see these 2 teams again in Atlanta, because Ole Miss, Mizzou, texas and even Texas A&M have very easy schedules, desipte Bama and UGA being the best 2 in the SEC.
That being said, i kinda hope yall dont talk about the Ags vs Mizzou on Saturday, Josh would have a field day with our offense, particularly our "pass attack".
I wasn't able to watch the game. I have UA-camTV and WiFi was down in Boone Saturday night. Sad I missed a good game. Go Dawgs and stay safe everyone! Helene is no joke.
Artificial because Georgia put itself into a situation where 4 down football was necessary.
Im not convinced Alabama is the better football team. I am convinced Alabama has an ultimate weapon at qb. It was not at all an individual effort that led to Georgia taking the lead with 2 minutes to go. And we aren't talking just one side of the ball. If Alabama was the better team that rally would have never happened Daniel. And it is offensive you imply it was all garbage points and garbage time. Al got spotted 28 points and damn near choked. Better team or something very special in an individual player? I think the answer to that is pretty clear.
It doesn't matter. Round 1 goes ro Bama. Buckle up because Georgia resolve is just getting started!
I don’t agree that Alabama would win a second time because Georgia’s coaching staff knows how they’re to play them now. They shut down Alabama in the second half for the most part.
Russaw barley played and K Law whose an elite blocking wr was out the entire second half
The Ben golden retriever cam in the corner of the screen is so dumb that it actually might just work. ESPN/ABC would never do that, though.
i’m glad you touched on the bad calls in georgias favor that kept them in the game
Beck is extremely limited as a passer. The round 1 grades are… head scratching.
You open this video saying Bama hid a lot of their O and D until the Georgia game. What makes you think Bama didn't back off in the 2nd half on purpose ... knowing they'll probably face Georgia again. I bet they're still not showing more than 75% of their potential because they don't have to. It's all about the long game and keeping your team healthy.
That didn't happened bruh!! You don't EVER, allow a team to comeback on you. Especially in the SEC

@@pharoahworld_class_hustlae9997 he can do whatever he wants, he rested Bama vs Wisconsin when they took out their QB
@doctorstrange69 no players were rested for the Georgia game, you don't allow a team to take the lead, especially when you're up 28-0
As a Bama fan I wonder why they closed the playbook back up in the second half! The offense got lost and the defense got wore down in the second half! Probably unlike most fans I was not so excited at halftime as I was afraid of exactly what happened! They had Georgia down with their foot on their throats and they let them get back up instead of finishing them off!!
Bama didn't necessarily get ultra conservative. UGA made adjustments and stopped the outside plays.
@@arubial1229Bama definitely went super conservative, they tried to throw it like 3 times, one being the game winner. Now credit to UGA they rightfully predicted Bama trying to run the clock out, committed to stopping it and did a damn good job at it. Also they played with nothing to lose cause they had no choice.
@@TallDwarfFromErebor if Bama was truly trying to run the clock out, they did a crappy job. They routinely snapped the ball with 15-20 seconds on the play clock. Unacceptable.
@@arubial1229 I agree, that’s why I said tried, doesn’t mean they succeeded. But they absolutely reduced their play calling. And what happened when they went back to being aggressive? They scored
@@TallDwarfFromEreborthey scored on a “f it Ryan Williams down there somewhere” and he made and absolute circus catch and run and scored. That was NOT a good decision to throw that pass because it easily could’ve been intercepted.
Whatever the gameplan was in the second half needs to be scrapped!
Great analysis of this game, you guys are the best.
You guys always do a great job! Kirby did not anticipate a different offense and adjusted at the half and it showed. Bobo has not called a good first half ever this season. Sure 30-7 is impressive but so is 11-27. I blame Bobo for giving Beck bad play leads because in the first half Beck had 2 interceptions and a safety - gave Bama at least 9 easy points in the first half. The safety was a mental mistake but the interceptions were from bad execution and wrong play calls. Smith didn’t pick up an audible and Delp didn’t look up waiting for his blockers to get in front of him. UGA needs better schemed plays on offense
No they weren’t….they were terrible decisions by Beck for the most part….first interception is a TD of Arian doesn’t run the wrong route, bobo dialed up winners all night and Beck simply missed or didn’t throw to the right player or the receivers couldn’t catch the ball. He made his mind up where he was going with the ball before the snap far too often….”film don’t lie” did a 50 minute film breakdown of Georgias offense
Seems to me schematically, Texas ole Miss and Tenn don’t match up well against Ga. Does this game raise GA’s floor next time bama plays? Especially since it’ll be neutral field?
I would still pick Alabama if both teams are healthy. I could see Texas being shocked early vs Georgia since the Texas schedule lacks real quality.
Nice review. Appreciated.

Hey love the content. Just a heads up, the model is still throwing negative scores, might want to check Bama - Vandy to see an example.

@@CollegeFootballNerds It has it Bama 43.6 - Vandy -6 when I run the matchup for this week
Good breakdown as usual. Hear me out, can y'all cover Colorado or the big 12 because that whole conference is wild rn?
Big 12 is the only P4 conference with a winning record against the SEC right now (beat Arkansas and Miss State, lost to Oklahoma)
B12 has a 1 score win over a Miss State team who got blown out by Florida. Arkansas going to go 2-6 in the SEC this year.
@@CollegeFootballNerds I agree, just thought it was a fun stat. In P4 vs P4 matchups (including Notre Dame) the SEC is the only conference with a winning record with an average margin of victory of 11 points
Having no vested interest, that was an incredible finish. But make no mistake, coordinators have a foot in their ass and players are paying the price at practice today. Where was the coverage? WTF was that?
Stop doubting Milroe is my best advice for you
What a treat to get this caliber of game this early in the year

If these teams play again, it would be hard to pick against Georgia. If the game plan for Alabama was sandbagging the playbook until this game, I imagine that's a one trick pony that would be hard to execute twice. Also 4 turnovers for one team are so random, hard to imagine that happens again. Basically, it wouldn't shock me if they played tomorrow that Georgia would be barely favored.
What about 5+ fourth down conversions? This game was very tight margins between the final score 41-34 and something like 52-15. Most of the extremely low probability plays went Georgia’s way, like the CFNerds mentioned. Deboer could also scheme more unexpected concepts, or just have Bama outplay an opponent again like UW did against Oregon twice last year.
I beg to differ! If played again AL would stay aggressive and not allow what happened in the 2nd half to happen again!
Obviously you don’t know Deboar, he played oregon twice in a season and had a different offensive game plan each time, same with Texas! Bama got way to conservative and the clock management was poor! Bama is better than UGA!
Alabama is better plain and simple.
Lmao 😂 😂 😂 😂 you gotta be frigging kidding me, Georgia would be favored?!? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing expecting a different result, Georgia plays Bama again they will lose again because of Milroe and Williams, Georgia just doesn't have the players this year to keep up on offense truth hurts
