Thank you! A Big Boy's firebox is so large it couldn't have been fed at all without an automatic stoker. That's not a concern anymore though now that 4014 burns oil.
I'd kill for scenes like these! Amazing video! I chased it from Parsons Kansas to Vinita Oklahoma, and sadly there weren't amazing shots because it's all straight and high speed. She put on a show for us though!
What an absolute beast! 👌😍The ultimate in North American superpower steam technology. Magnificent! There’s a bridge and then there’s a BRIDGE haha. Such an impressive river crossing over the Mississippi River. The shot coming into St. Louis is pretty cool also, across an equally impressive bridge. Nice video as always, mate. Keep well and a Merry Christmas to you and your family. Regards, Caleb from South Australia
All the steam is from the cylinder cocks to blow condensate from the cylinders. In fact, the engine is loafing, being pushed by the diesel engine. You can hear that by the engine revs from 4015. Such a shame that the don't make the engine work when coming into or leaving a populated location. That's what the folks came for. Not just to see - but to hear that Chuff-Chuff as it starts or the chatter as is runs by at speed. It is a beautiful sight but a sleeping beauty.
Though I wasn't Born in the City of St. Louis I consider it my Hometown, so seeing St. Louis being so well represented is very nice. In a way we are the forgotten Railroading Hub of the US. Great work.
Awesome 😎 I almost went to Poplar Bluff but decided to stop in Scott city on Saturday instead 😃 video went up today 👍 That was pretty cool 😎 to see it go the whole way to St Louis
Big Boy steamies were so powerful when in full cry, no novice fireman could hope to keep up with feeding the furnace with coal. Nice video of 4014.

10:42 That's the fastest I've seen 4014 ever go. Must've been highballing at about 55-60 mph.
Nice video! Very pretty scenery!
Thank you very much!
Totally awesome video!
Thank you!
Must of been great getting to film and seeing 4014 in action.
It was a pretty fun experience, thanks for watching!

Thank you Caleb! And a Merry Christmas to you as well!
Absolutely beautiful locomotive! The big boy has to be my #1 favorite. 2nd would the AC4400.

Thanks! The railroad history in St. Louis is definitely underappreciated.
