Hey Modder :) Please add Nabis King of Sparta :) as it is mentioned in the stories but I am unsure if this will unbalance hellas/greece. Would be cool though but look forward to seeing how this re-make will turn out. Love Ancient Empires regardless - best overhaul ever, shame about the next turn bug :( has ruined a few games for me but now I know to just save every year and quick save every turn so I got plenty of restore points lol Peace !
4:41 I love how the battle looks here. The units are moving in cohort blocks, but we can still feel like these are battle formations made up of actual human beings. We can see these little black dots representing each individual soldiers. Those who are a little far back from the front are trying to keep up with their formation but at their own speed. I don't recall I ever see this kind of movements in Rome 2 vanilla or even in DEI.
I'm going to make my own video too - I'll give credit to this amazing video, and basically hopefully it helps Ancient Empires gets the members it needs!
For me the main thing when comes to total war games and more to do with Rome series is the amount of unit cards within each army or more accurately each legion. The standard is 20 unit cards however that wasn’t a size of a legion unless increase the amount of unit in each card going up to figures like 120-160. With that option you loose ability to manoeuvre. So ideally would like to have unit cards going up to 80 unit cards. I’ve increased the unit cards myself when Rome 2 first came out. It was great having 70 odd units the scope of the battle was great the only issue was the speed of the computer I had at the time.
I second this. I really believe in this mod. Cinematically there has never been a better experience. It just lacks the technical diversity for experienced players who can micro. But the battles… they easily win the experience of each battle. I really feel like I’m there .
did they fix the part where when you are trying to finish off a unit to 0 there would always get stuck at 1 guy left? would be immersion breaking to leave it like that because there was a swarm of cavalry unable to take out this one guy :))
AE is perhaps my favorite TW mod, I hoped it would be finished/polished not remade. Unfortunately this 'community patch'/(sub)mod, creates new problems instead of solving old issues.. no reason to nerf Roman units, 12 TPY, ultra-huge units, obligatory supply script and bunch of other weird decisions.
Please update. I need to continue The Eternal City Series on my channel. I cannot use cinematic playbacks post-fights with any nations other than Rome and Carthage.
The other issue I have with the total war series would be the number of cities and towns. There are far too few especially in the green campaign maps. When have small campaigns where fix a certain region such as the Gaul or Italian campaign maps then there are more cities and towns which are great but don’t have the scope of he rest of the world. So my other point would be to increase the number of cities and towns. Yes I know like previous point usual comments of that’s what’s in the program already
love DEI, but Rome 2 I can't stand anymore. sieges are very esthetic but dull (you can't burn the settlement down, there is no siege escalation etc etc), and I couldn't go back to Rome 2 combat as the animations of attila, the physics of units impacting each other feels more visceral for me mk1212 just needs custom medieval maps
What on earth are you talking about 'an era not usually covered by Total War'. They made 2 games about Rome, and Dei gives you basically the same starting scenario/time
The lack of cities in Sicily Numindia Greece Arabia the leveant and no south central Asia like baktria ect just make the mod unplayable for me, so dei it remains
Yeah I noticed that when playing earlier. There are cities where there should be cities (in Sicily, at least) but they're just textures, not actual cities. Very strange.
so what can be done is adding custom field battles with actual cities in. this is already done with the ruins of sparta, athens, and Florentia (in the tile next to Rome, if you fight, you are actually fighting around a city, though no settlement) when campaign map tools are finalized, I believe we can add settlements where there were none previously but don't quote me on that: its the work of the Dawnless Days' team, they know more about what is possible and not
It's 07:30 am here. I just finished my corinthian playtrough with the terminus mod that was presented by you some time ago. Now i have to start a new playtrough with AE before work starts at 09:00 am. Thanks again :D .

Im like you, DEI is my favourite MOD/Game and AE is my second favourite.. I just love this time period. Im playing Ptolomey campaig now and it is hard, which makes it interesting and demanding.. I also played Macedon and my God it was so difficalt. I had to restart several times, but at the end I managed it. Romans are fleeing far into Gaul and are almost gone.. Cool mod no doubt!
Relation with china like ck2 would be amazing. A huge chunk of central asia and north India is missing which would have given the opportunity to play as full might of Bactrian and Kushan Empires
TheTerminator Asi es el mod el principal problema lo tiene en los graficos, al parecer aveces cuando se iniciaba el juego la mitad de la pantalla para arriba y abajo se veia borrosa.
I do miss that your never referring to the bad sides of these modes. These are definitely interesting and good modes. I dont want to diminish anything here, but Divide for example has a very big flaw related to the populations and how that effects the recruitment options. Legend of Total War did a great and honest analysis of Divide about this. It is purely a thing put on the players back and the AI does not have this mechanic effecting them. Meaning a mechanic which could be a very good and interesting one, becomes a restriction simply.
@@bdleo300 It's still the most enjoyable and the closest thing to Europa Barbarorum for Rome 2, so I'll take what I can get. The biggest problem is honestly with some of the bloat at this stage.

Been playing this mod for 2 years now... still not bored but the game crashes a lot (I save after every victory battle) but the gameplay is far better and enjoyable then vanilla. Also they should look into the fact that we only can use spies and no dignitaries or priests... But they should first of all remove the cap of some end play units... it's really frustrating when you reach the top after 2 months (real time) of struggling with crappy units to find out that you can make 3, YES 3 units of elite royal infantry like for the Kushites ! Those who played the Kushites know it's really really hard to survive against Ptolemaic Egypt and the Seleucids because of the lack of Armour... and then when finally you do start to come on top, you get these 3 armored elite warrior units to play with... just laughable.
The so called community 'patch' lowers fps greatly, at least for me. I also don't get why modders don't focus on creating new story/scenarios. AE already looks great. There are diminishing returns on changing it, compared to making a novel scenario (e.g. the Social wars).
