Good job man, looks great! Can’t wait to bake it myself. Just one thing I wanna mention, the baked Alaska could be torched, but it is significantly harder to actually bake it, with the ice cream leaking out if any meringue bald spots show. I think it's really impressive what you're doing. It does feel like you took a few shortcuts. The final product needs to go in the oven for a few minutes, not get torched, which is arguably the more easy route. The merengue was underwhipped as far as I could see. Also i feel like the proportions of merengue to icecream were off. Baking itself isnt that hard but baking well is different in my opinion.

Essentially some life long baker that wants to feel better about himself literally just said he used his hands which will "deflate" the dough which isn't true really and he hated that he used American instead of fReNch creme filling even though he's a chef that's American in decent
He stilled made ‘em tho
why is nobody pointing out that’s not a baked alaska. he didn’t bake it. it would’ve melted in the oven fs so that’s probably why. a good baker can make a baked alaska properly
Right? And store bought ice cream. I'm not impressed.
A professional baker doesn't put them in the oven, risks losing time and ruining the product if stays too long, you only put it in the oven if you don't have a flamethrower
Exactly!! That’s the first thing I noticed lmao. You gotta bake it all in the oven, torching the meringue isn’t the proper method. He made ice cream with meringue
I've literally never seen someone bake a baked Alaska they always use a torch
@@Philthesloyes they bake it and then put the torch on it he did it different not necessarily wrong but not right
What a humble and down to earth man 😂
Bro you have to remake this with HOMEMADE ice cream rather than store bought!!
"Just wait until he bakes Alaska"
-haha
He really just made an Alaska and thought he did it correctly
Good job man, looks great! Can’t wait to bake it myself. Just one thing I wanna mention, the baked Alaska could be torched, but it is significantly harder to actually bake it, with the ice cream leaking out if any meringue bald spots show. I wanna see how far you can go, so can you try baking sfogliatella? It’s time consuming, it’s precise, and I think you can do it.

Edit: To clarifiy some things, no, I have not made a baked Alaska before. I've made cake brownies, chocolate stuffed spice cookies, fruit and nut tarts, and mug cakes, all from scratch, but not something as torturous as this.
Secondly, this comment was a joke. I thought it would be obvious given the way I typed it and the fact that it's already in a popular meme format to begin with, but apparently not many people knew that and have this started the War of the Eighth Coalition.

As someone who bakes often but is scared of making new stuff, this series has been helping me be more confident to try new stuff, I’m always so intimidated be a peopel say it’s hard, but you make everything seem so easy!
You have the confidence of a man who doesn't make his own ice cream. We all suspect that you're actually quite a decent chap.

Croissants are freaking impossible and are a heck of a challenge to get right - the butter is either too soft and leaks out or too cold and breaks up which leaves you disappointed and discouraged.

Ok, make a 3 tier wedding cake
YES, or an angel/devils food cake thats properly iced with icing.
Why not each tier of cake is a different flavor of cake made perfectly one is angel food, one is red velvet and one is devils food
That isnt even hard to do though.
Things that are quite hard to do though are for example sugar work (so making scupltures and decorations out of sugar) , things that are very precise in temperature like macarons or souflé , things that need to be really airy like eclairs ect.
A 3 layer cake is just that 3 cakes stacked on top of eachother so really if you can make 1 cake you can make a 3 stack no problem.
Also icing really isnt all that hard either its just like writing but easier as my hand writing looks awfull but my icing doesnt.
And decorate it well detailed in 30 minutes
