Thanks so much for playing and reviewing our game ❤. You can look around by holding (Interact) R and panning the right thumbstick. You can also trigger crossbow traps in several ways/block the bolt with carefully timed melee weapons. There's also an XP level requirement cap introduced, to prevent the system becoming grindy. The Hunter (skull guy) event timer starts on enemy detection, but slows on cloaking. We've got more updates for the game coming soon :)
Great little roguelike from what I've played so far of this one though considerably more challenging than some I've played. Let me know if you've given it a go and how you found it! Thanks for watching!
How is the visibility of the traps? I got Spelunky 1 & 2 on sale but even on a big screen TV I couldn't get into them because the visual cues for some of the traps were so small for my old man eyes I guess.
Most are alright tbh, the ground spike traps that pop up can be a bit of a pain but there is a skill which you can get which highlights everything when you use it which is cool
I STILL get put off by the word "Roguelike"... To me it smacks of laziness (I know, I'm a big ol game-racist)... I mean, I LOVE Dead Cells, easily an 8.5 outta ten game... But with some carefully hand-crafted levels, it would be pushing for 10 Maybe this game will help me see the light!
Hi, development started in 2013 (with early access in 2018), so we began work on the game before the action Roguelike/rogue-lite trend became a thing and the market became saturated with titles claiming that (now-diverse) term. The game's scope got a bit out of hand. We love Dead Cells, too; it's one of the titles that inspired us over the years alongside other roguelites like Spelunky, Caveblazers, Spirit Abyss, Vagante, Catacomb Kids, Towerclimb, etc.
@glider521al hey, I'm stalking you in the comments section!! OK you won me over with Caveblazers and Vagante! Caveblazers is my all time favorite game, and when I first saw your game I thought of that immediately. Is the Switch version as up to date as PC?
@@ToolShopGuy Cheers :) The PC version is still ahead of the Switch version (due to the approval process for updates on Switch taking several days). Also nice, I've played a lot of Vagante and Caveblazers to (favourite class in Vagante is Rogue:Nimble/Ascetic, favorite perks in Caveblazers are Vortex/Vampire), and drew inspiration from both games during development ⚔
@glider521al Thanks for replying! I just bought it on Switch, and I love it! I can tell this is gonna be one of my favs. Takes the fun parts of both Caveblazers and Vagante, I can totally see the influence! Is the patch submitted to Nintendo already? I know they take forever. As soon as I shot an arrow through the fire, and the arrow became a fire arrow, I knew I was gonna love your game 😁

Hey there, you're welcome, been having a fun time with it :) Thank you for clarifying those things, I'll definitely put them to good use!

This one looks ok. I may give it a try or at lest put it on my wish list and get it on sale.
"Use the Force, Luke."
Have you played Streets of Rogue?
Yep. Great little roguelike, I played a lot of this with my bro in co-op and finished it with him. Looking forward to the sequel.
