Thanks for the video. You're the ONLY one. But it's pretty straight forward. I've had mine since 2015. It's one of the originals and it is loud ( TC10095G).
So glad I found this video. I was driving and the truck just shut off on me. Good thing i wasnt on a main road or freeway. I noticed i havent heard my fass lift pump like I used to. I hear nothing now and it wont start, so ill be calling Fass in the morning.
Good video. I should be doing this within the next few days. I was a bit unsure if I could do it with the pump still on frame or if I would have to remove it all but seems like it’s pretty straight forward doing it while it’s still attached. Thanks
I have had an intermittent bad start issue with my truck and I wonder if maybe it is check ball related. It acts like it has lost its fuel prime. Sort of like when you replace an OEM filter and it runs rough AF for a bit. The the other day my truck just shut off while idling in front of my studio. Fuse was good but pump would only run weakly for a second before shutting off on key cycle. I hotwired the plug and bypassed the relay and pump spun right up and sounded normal. So maybe relay was an issue but that doesn't explain the other loss of prime situation. I think my pump is about 10yrs old now. But only about 60k miles.
@infinityphotorob so the main issue with mine is the pump would ground out. The truck should still be running fine off of stock pump I think you may have a deeper issue. Or maybe even cracked fuel line whether from your fass or one of your injector lines. Just have to do some poking around if you have access to a scan tool check your rail pressure. us your rail pressure gauge
@raptorrider7002 normal as always i didn't notice any change in sound. I would notice however lack of sound while waiting on glow plug light. It popped the fuse throughout summer months occasionally and then as cold temperature hit it was almost every time I'd turn the key on before replacing it
So I just put a rdhp_1001 replacement pump on my 2000 7.3 powerstroke and it ran for about 2 seconds and stopped blew the fuse passed the pump connector and now it keeps blowing the fuse no matter what doesn't turn on do you know what it could be what size is the inline fuse to the connector
@@DarksPlay681 that sounds like a bad motor if there is a warranty send it back if not i would try tapping on the case with a hammer. It is a 10 amp fuse.
Thanks for posting. Do you know if the electric motor without the gerotor pump is available anywhere? Mine quit, the magnets in the motor were loose. Gerotor pump is fine. I'd rather not buy the entire pump if I don't have to. Thanks again!
Thanks for posting! Mine quit me just recently. They are sending me a new pump and fingers crossed I’ll be back on the road! Did you need to purge the air out after replacement?
I had to buy a new pump the new one came with a 1 year warranty is all. I found a dealer somewhat local and went through them. Fass will rebuild yours but it wasn't that much more expensive to go new with warranty.
@@jasonstults yeah but the thing that bothers me is when they say LIFETIME WARRANTY when you buy it. I mean come on it's a D.C. motor with a housing and a couple filters. The all in cost of these unit's have to be close to 300 bucks and they are selling them for almost 800. It's like keep the price and actually warranty the stuff or drop the price to reflect a disposable product
@ron p. Terrazas I totally agree. Maybe fight your case and see what they say. I wasn't the original purchaser of the unit that was on my truck. But I don't think that ever came up. It was also a lot cheaper when I made this video than 800 bucks. So the rebuild sounds more feasible at that point as far as price point.
@@jasonstults ah ok. Yeah i can't blame them for not covering it if you were not the original purchaser. If they asked you for the pump number then i think that's how they can tell if it's under warranty, or if they flat out ask if you bought it originally. Yes it's almost always cheaper to rebuild something instead of removing and replacing it. I called in about my motor being loud as can be and they quoted me a price higher than i wanted to pay. I told them wow that's a lot, maybe i should just take it off and send it off for a rebuild then. They got snarkey and said well if you think you can find somewhere to send it. I laughed but i felt like saying it's a dc motor man not a fusion generator that only you guys know how to rebuild.....
@ron p. Terrazas yeah I don't blame them, but at the same time, they should stand by their lifetime guarantee. That's a bummer they were rude on the phone. The dude I spoke with broke it down for me pretty well. Hmm I didn't even think to go somewhere else to have it rebuilt, we have generators and starters for old 20s 30s cars rebuilt for projects at work constantly.

So depending on what series of pump you have. For the titanium series that's the correct replacement. Can you see the serial number on the base of your pump? You can contact Fass with your serial number and they can give you full description of exactly what you've got.

What did it sound like before
@DPats1228 it sounded as normal as always it just shorts out in the case and popped the fuse especially on startup
I have the exact identical problem and you're the only video on here thank you for making it
Great video, got my truck back on the road👍
Did this issue also cause fluctuations in fuel pressure

When you upgrade to fass does it replace you fuel oem pump or do you still need it ?
@@joseMeza-mi7fn your stock lift pump is still there it just doesn't have to strain to pull fuel all the way from tank

To be honest I have no idea I imagine so since you can send yours into FASS, and have it repaired. But I don't possess that knowledge..

Where is the fuse for the pump?
Should be right near the battery on the driver side red wire off of the battery about 12 inches down the wire
