Ppl are in for a rude awakening....
Loved Daniel Radcliffe who turned out to be Benjamin Graham. Similar names, similar ages, I get the confusion
😂😂😂
I did not (yet) love the guy but surely liked the guy who read that, though! 😗
I was so confused as to why Daniel Radcliffe wrote a book
Yah man same got confused...since I have read it , I fir a second thought it was Daniel Radcliffe
how are they similar names are are you being sarcastic?
Someone should show this to Jack Edwards so he could make a video about reading the books that people last read
Literally what I was thinking loll
Love Jack!
Yess
Omg yesss!!! 😂 that would be awesome
Lmao I literally clicked from a video of his to this one
I love how everyone is ‘Have you read it? You should read it!’. It’s the same feeling I get whenever I read a good book, I really wanna share it and talk about it with people
yes i love their passion about their books
After watching this vid, I read the book (the midnight library) recommended by the first person and it was AMAZING I LOVED IT I'M GONNA CONTINUE READING RECS
that's great to hear!!
I totally clicked because the guy in the thumbnail is gorgeous obviously and this concept is really nice. Keep up the good work!
Same here. I would like to know his name hahaha
thank you!
I need his insta 😂
same, but Dutch people in general are gorgeous both men and women
1:31 A la recherche du temps perdu is actually one of the longest novels ever written - 1.5 million words over 7 tomes. Good luck to this guy.
oh wow haha, i did not know this
That's the one of the greatest novel in 20th, and make Proust became one of the greatest novelist too.. I think
i am in love with a guy with a funky scarf
I loved this!! So interesting to hear what other people are reading
🧡🧡
I started reading the Magus after watching this. 200 pages in and I’m loving it so far! Thank you!
really glad to hear this! if i come across him again I will let him know
Boy with the purple scarf is SO CUTE
sapiens is good, I'd recommend to anyone who wants to catch up on anthropology and human history. the narration in the audiobook is great too.
alright will do!
Yep I second this! Such a great book and it’s written in a way that’s not too difficult to understand but still really interesting and informative
Try Guns Germs and Steel if you wanna get into anthropology
read or listen to the sequel „homo deus“ by harari as well, he has some intelligent an interesting thoughts about what future may hold for us as humans
hope you guys enjoyed this 2nd episode of "What's The Last Book You Read?" 🥰
let me know if you have any other questions you'd like me to ask people on the street
It's pretty cool and refreshing!
ask them about their favorite books !
@@catgrace7160 that's a good idea, i will either include that or maybe make another format just asking them that
I would like to know what book they would choose if they could only read one for the rest of their lives !! It would be so interesting!!
“It’s a Roman” so I think he means a novel! Because “roman” means novel in Swedish and it defo seemed like he meant that instead of romance
yes you're right
I remember reading excerpts of sapiens in class, really liked it!
omg i love love hearing about the books other people are reading thank you for this !!
🧡
I finished the first volume of Proust's Recherche yesterday, and yes everyone should read it!
Mennn i loveeee these video’s!!!!! Now I have new books to add to my reading list!🤩😍😍
🧡🧡
The first guy is soo cute i just cant!!!!
This is such a nice way to find out the names of good books. Thanks for this.
🙏🏼🧡
oooh I love that concept 😍 haven‘t seen it before here on youtube. Please keep making them, I always love getting new reading inspo 😊👌🏽❤️
recording a new one this week :)!
The music, the vibes, the people ❤
The last book I read is History is all you left me, a very sad yet beautiful book. 10/10 would recommend it.
And currently I’m reading ‘All the bright places’, should have read the book before I watched the film but it’s whatever, so far I’m enjoying the book a lot :)
Omg history is all you left me is one of my faves
The 2nd guy was really cute! The majority of the people on these videos seem really cool and friendly.., im envious of where you live lol
thats true, i rarely meet unfriendly people!
Glad to see The Magus mentioned, read that in high school best book I picked from The Strand
I love you're content!! 🤩 Great video again!
thank you 🧡🧡
The books they mentioned are on my TBR. Can't wait to read asap
awesome!
I go through times were I’ll get really into reading and read lots of books then not read any for multiple years. The last book I read was just before the pandemic started and I was half way through it when I lost interest in reading. I bought like 5 books before going into lockdown because I thought since I would have so much time I would want to read but I didn’t feel like it and since then I’ve bought even more books so now I have like 10 books that I want to read eventually.
hope these videos motivate you to get back into it! I was not reading a lot the last few months, but after hearing all these people talking so enthusiastically about books I really wanted to read more
This is cool too see, really enjoying these. Hoping to find someone who would not recommend a book 😄
thank you 🥰
My man really didn't get the memo about asking people at the UvA humanities faculty 😔 go ask people near the oudemannehuispoort building, in the courtyard or in the book vendors alley
alright i'll try in one of the next video!
Here’s my recommendation: Like this video and share it with your friends, cause this channel is awesome!
Oh and also, read “The Almanack of Naval Ravikant”. Naval is a philosopher and entrepreneur :)
🧡🙏🏼
Those are the types of videos that should be viral 📚
More of this book series!!
filiming a new one today!
Loved this video!
🧡🧡
wow love to see that guy reading a la recherche du temps perdu! ive just started the second volume. incredible novel
Actually that man did read both Harry Potter series in morning and intelligent investor at night. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂
love this!
thanks Elias!
I am surprised how good their English is! I know they’ve likely been taught it from a young age but it’s hard to master a language when you’re not actively using it in daily life but they’re all basically fluent.
Last book i finished reading was Murakami's Colorless Tsuzuki. Well, tht was quite an eye popping experience to say the least. 😅
Please do more of this!!!
got 2 more videos here! ua-cam.com/play/PLlDBF0VzUA0c71Lv1HNUlE1kVJw5RrZyW.html
2:11 Same, just finished it yesterday. Great book
nice!
French dude said “that’s very general, but yeah, you know!” - super good summary of anything Proust though tbf lmao
Sapiens really is a good book. Must read.
heard it a couple of times now - it's definitely on my reading list!
As someone who loves music I really hoped to meet you and be in one of your video's. As someone who doesn't read that much I am now trying to hide from you.
hahaha
THE MIDNIGHT LIBRARY IS SO GOOD I FINISHED IT A FEW DAYS AGO
Dit is ook echt goed! We want more 🙈👌🏼
dank je!! ga aankomende week weer een nieuwe filmen :)
@@nowifii kan niet wachten! ;)
@@nowifii Tof!!
I love this kind of society
I could've guessed that the investment book dude was reading a book on investment without even talking to him. probably a Gary vee stan 😬
lmao
we need more videos like this
filmed a new one yesterday!
Im reading Sapiens rn, its really nice book but hard to finish, but i keep going 👍🏻
nice!
I think when the subtitles said “it’s very regional (?)” the person was actually saying “it’s very original”
i think you're right
k, im in love with the guy in the colorful scarf 0_0
Thumbnail guy super cute tho 👉🏻👈🏻
Ican see either jack Edwards or booksandlala making a video reading these for a challenge 😭💅
So this guy just casually read the whole recherche? Thats like 7000 Pages
Idk if this is a good idea or not but you could maybe make one about what movie or series people are currently watching or loved
that's a great idea, i will do that :)
wow i love this
🙏🏼
What an interesting video:))
lol trying to explain In Search of Lost Time - Proust... It's a 7-Volume, 4200+ page masterpiece.
Sapiens by Yuval Harari is a strongly recommended book to read!!! It absolutely covers everything under the sun related to the human species:) Read it y'all
My-now this is the kind of content I would devour religiously.
🙏🏼
didnt know warren buffet was a fan of daniel radcliffe - you go harry potter!!!
😂😂
thinking a lot about daniel radcliffe there
haha
How did they come about the last book they read? Would love to know. Especially when they mention less known books like the ‘Norwegian in the US’-book I get curious. 🤓
that's a good idea - i will try this next time i ask people
I love this video.
🧡🧡
I feel like I know the guy in the thumbnail from somewhere but not from where.
You should add in what the last book was that YOU read aswell :)
i think it was 12 Rules for Life by Jordan Peterson
Oh I like the midnight library! Last book I read was why we can't sleep
was it good?
@@nowifii yes! A very comforting reading in a weird way.
more of these videos, please
in the making 🙏🏼🥰
Marcel Proust👌🏼👌🏼
2:00 I present you the face of a rightfully tired but also very inspired, French intellectual. He probably also read one novel from Tolstoy or Dostoyevski but then no more non-francophone, non French-tradition literature besides that because he simply thought War and Peace/The Brothers Karamazov not sophisticated enough and moreover far too short for its themes. No more superficial Russian "literature" for that light-hearted, romantic, French intellectual, he will stick mostly to his French and francophone classics henceforth!
Seriously that guy never fucking read À la Recherche - first of all, it’s a series of novels, he would’ve named one of them if he’d read them. Second of all is he kidding ? “What’s it about?”
“Uhhh literature” ❌
“It’s like about time” ❌
“Ok… is it fiction?”
“Euh yes but the narrator is kind of like the character” yeah you mean like first person narration? Dude… it’s fiction. It’s just heavily inspired by Proust’s actual life.
The only thing worse than pretentious people is fake pretentious people…
Cringe
@@lsjt8924 😆 you might very well be right! I was just having fun with being very particular about this impression of excentricism and intellectualism that was bestowed on me, nothing serious!
Your comment was fun aswell in its stern, dismissive, cynical criticism so I hope you can find light in all the buffoonery yourself aswell! 😋
@@lsjt8924 Nope. You must not know French people well. What he said was actually pretty accurate. He was struggling with English language, that's all.
He studies in Amsterdam, which means he probably is not as narrow-minded as you portay him. Or as yourself seem to be, according to your long analysis.
Juist!! Meer mensen moeten boeken lezen is echt leuk
yes idd!
I just finished "Top Secret" by Serena Bowen.
how did you like it?
@@nowifii It was good and relaxing read with a happy ending.
A "roman" is a novel.
yes i did not realize in the moment what he meant haha
@@nowifii No worries!
The french guy should have got more credit à la recherche de temps perdu is so f long
1:30 I just want to know how this man found the motivation and time to read Marcel Proust - In Search Of Lost Time.
Motivation is easy once you start, it's actually quite gripping.
He graduated Phd. He was my professor last year.
Me pones a un chico guapo que lee en la portada y ya me has ganado jajajajjajajaja
a mi tambien jajaj
the second guy was so cute
Love the dutch accents haha
I believe the french guy said "it's very general" instead of regional :)
ahh yes
that makes much more sense, thank you!
love de vertaling van roman naar het engelse roman
haha
The guy reading proust 🥺
How does everyone speak english so well? + Their accents are really good too.
Dutch sounds kind of like a combination of German and English to me, so it makes sense that they would have a nice accent and the language itself wouldn't be such a big problem for them either. It's more challenging when your native language is very different in both grammar and pronunciation.
i agree with what KF says - also this video was recorded at the University of Amsterdam, where the majority of students studies in English
“The Magus” sounds like Fowles was inspired by “The Tempest”, just from what this gentleman said.
very nice video :)
🧡🧡
18:20 - 10.01.22
I’m just looking for a guy in the thumbnail. Anyway the content is so qualities, I love it 🤍🤍🤍 need more place to interview ppl like rotterdam, den bosch etc
thank you! yes will try rotterdam soon :)
Interesting again! :)
🙏🏼
i wish someone would come up to me and ask me this i would love to nerd out a little about books
where do i have to go to come across you?
@@nowifii Germany! small city near Berlin!
Its surprising not a single dutch book
yes that's true - maybe there will be more dutch book reades off university campuses
Daniel Radcliffe dien't write an investing book😂😂
haha
The guy at 0:35 🤍
Man Dutch people are so well read
only the last man had a Dutch accent I think
Lol. 'Novel' is the word the guy meant with 'roman' 😁
haha yes
I'd be so embarrassed bc all these people are reading dramatic, well written books and the latest book I've read is New Moon (the second book in the twilight saga),,, 😳
haha
It's ok. First, it's a good thing to read anything, as long as you read. Second, one does not exclude the others. You can read both easy and more intellectual books.
That cute first guy looks like Douglas Booth 👀oh my
Pls ask them what one more look they recommend🙂🤍🤍🤍
like what other book they recommend besides the one they are reading right now?
@@nowifii exactly, it would be interesting☺️
Or maybe only ask them what book they recommend 🤷😙
By Daniel Radcliffe
*curiousity intensifies*
😂😂
this guy is really reading proust😭😭 jesus christ can i have his brain cells
His number
@@leireantia507 lol
Jennie's nose job was done really well, a lot of kpop rhinoplasty is overdone, but Jennie's is subtle
You don't have to be "intelligent" to read it, you just have to be passionate about the subjects he talks about, and then, if you focus enough, I swear it will come easily.
Also, don't rush reading it if you think it's not the right time. I read the first half of the first book at 16 and even if I incredibly loved it, so many things went over my head so I stopped, and I started again 2 years ago at 24 and it really was a good decision. I read it very slowly, and it took me 1.5 years to read the full thing, but it's honestly life-changing.
Hope you give it a try someday!
@@sleepyhead1212 hey what's up
Only clicked bc I seriously thought the thumbnail guy was collegiate Andy Samberg
