NGL I've been raging a lot on Hot Air Skyway. There are times that I lose my flames, hit walls on the spiral and sometimes the shortcut or even fall off the track. I know what I'm doing I just need to be careful on it. This track is just difficult, after beating Cortex Castle like a week ago I found it easier than Hot Air Skyway. I'm glad I came back re-watching your video again.
Honestly, you deserve 250K! Your videos are amazing! I just beat Velo on Roo's Tubes and now I'm half a second away from the dev time, I couldn't have beaten Velo without you! Keep up the good work, you are the most helpful CTR channel out there!
Now I remember... This was the frustration that led me to research U-turns back with Velo, and for the most part this was the strategy I had used. That doesn't mean my Velo victory was close to defeating William P. though.
I used drift but your tips on the spiral and the other sections help me get the win after some time. Your Drive Thru-Danger video also got me the win. Now all I need to do is beat Turbo Track and I get the Master Wheels!.
A little thing, when I did this, all I had trouble was the spiral most of all plus I had managed to learn to U-Turn tighter in the leap of faith shortcut. Cause in this case, its more of experience on managing to know when to time it and know where you go behind the clouds
Additional info: this isn't a William P. track on the level of Crash Cove or megamix mania. I beat him while not cutting the track at the S-section after the finish line on lap 2 and 3 when you have the USF, and I also lost it briefly after spiral right before the USF turbo pad. You can actually gain quite a hefty amount of time on this track because William is a bit sloppy with the corner cutting.
One thing I never realized is that... I actually managed to beat all dev times with analog stick(the one thats hard to U turn) and I am proud of myself and no wonder it took me long to beat all of them. Probably the most impressive thing I've ever done in a game. The class I used were mostly speed and drift.
Speed worked for me due to the straight lines. I was surprised at how easy this ghost was (especially since it is William P). The track itself is difficult, but you pretty much just need to maintain reserves the whole track and the win is guaranteed.
Prehistoric was deceptively difficult so it is good that you are making a guide. It was actually my 15th believe it or not, but it took me quite a few attempts

I'm a Balanced player and I can confirm the Cortex Castle Dev Time can be beaten with Balanced. My time was 1:57:29 and I don't use U-Turning. I cut corners(which Cortex Castle was pretty forgiving with corners not taking my Blue Fire) and Air Braked as well as sort of a discount U-Turn spamming small Air Brakes around some turns.
I don't think I will ever beat the dev times lol I barely tied the dev time with Drift in Electron Avenue but idk about other tracks. Needless to say, I love to watch these videos to see how some people deal with hard tracks and stuff. Love your content Viperian!
I can do out of time fence jump while honking blue fire like 99% of the time but I can’t do the fence jump on , this track and hold fire consistently help lol
You plan on doing one for spyro at some point? Also cant wait for your N sane trilogy playthrough :D Remember to go for those relics thats the “fun” part of N sane trilogy
Might seem counter-intuitive, but run your reserves thin. Don't drift more than you need to, and use U-turning and jumping to build/maintain reserves. It keeps your lines much tighter and your paths shorter.
Hey Viperian what tracks are possible to win without U-turning? I have already got the easy ones - N.Gin Labs, Inferno Island, Papu Pyramid and Tiny Temple(not that easy but simple!). I can air-brake well. Kudos.
All 4 N. Sanity Beach tracks, Coco Park, Dingo Canyon, Tiny Arena, Dragon Mines, Blizzard Bluff, Jungle Boogie. There's more, but those are the only ones I've done so far next to the ones you listed that don't require U-Turns

I only have 7 more tracks to beat crash cove slide colisium turbo track those are giving me a hard time the other 4 tracks are bonus tracks don't know if they are hard

That U-turn at 4:02 is a bitch. I can't hold my USF and make that shortcut consistently enough. I only get it 10% of the time. The other 90% of the time I just fly off the edge like a dumbass.

Leave it to William P. to show out on the 2 WORST designed tracks of CTR & CNK respectively: this Rainbow Road clone & Out Of Time (Deep Sea Driving comes VERY close....but outside of the fan blades in the final tunnel, maintaining blue fire feels less stressful there)

When I did the dev times, I got some really good runs that were just barely slower than the dev. The time on prehistoric is hard to beat, it’s not the track.
@@davionbandicoot2.044 I don't understand why they didn't just put a fence shortcut in that area, would've definitely made sense considering they puked blue fire turbo pads all over the place, & it DEFINITELY would've made a difference in terms of more people actually LIKING the track. I understand that they wanted to make Turdo Track good, but there was no savin' THAT mess. If anything, it's actually WORSE now. Shame really, the others were mostly either on point or an improvement entirely
Not sure if the devs did literally everything by themselves but those dev times are nowhere near TAS levels lmao TAS would beat world record holders ten fold
@@Insanityltself I mean, it literally is a TAS, because they didn't race around these tracks themselves they programmed the game to do it for them, just like how they programmed the rest of the time trials. There is zero human error in any of these movements, zero falter. They're clearly bots programmed by developers and not actual people setting a ghost time themselves

Hot Air Skyway and Turbo Track were the hardest ones for me. I’ve lost count of how many times I had to swap between Speed and Drift to beat them.

The biggest advantage in this track is the cloud jump. William P doesn't pull it off perfectly and the spiral as well.
Also, on Oxide Station the dev loses blue fire on lap 3.
The last U-turn can also be much tighter than the ghost does

It's the same for me! I think the key is to have a really good first lap
In that track the developer is very hard, he hug all the walls
