This is gorgeous :) Just bought some of those clear bauble's today and planned on doing sprinkles for our candy land theme, but this is so much more artistic!!!!
When I use the glitter at the end it just soaks up the ink, clump up and falls out leaving blank spots inside. Am I using too much ink? What am I doing wrong?
Your baubles are white but I didn't see you use any white. Or did you? If you didn't use white, how did you produce the white? And how long should you let dry before adding the ink?
how do you get the alcohol ink to splash like you have? Mine just runs into the bauble and doesn’t spread nicely. I’ve left it for 20 mins and until it goes almost clear, but it just looks messy
I think high humidity has to do with it. the colder the weather, the better. same thing if you're trying to create any ripple effects. Also, be sure and use 91% alcohol and not 70 as it wont be strong enough. hope this helps :) I've had lots of trial and error
I must be doing something wrong ! 😭. My attempt looks ok. But not great and pretty like yours. I’m using the exact same stuff and colours! I started with the gloss and let it drip out for 20 minutes. Then I went with the alcohol ink but it’s really runny (same brand). I’m not even using a lot. Just little drops like you. But it doesn’t look like yours. Then when I add the glitter at the end yours covers it all and the open areas. I shook like a mad woman and it still didn’t cover ! Also what’s the white bottle ? Is it just white ink? Or something else as maybe that’s the problem? Help! X
Hello! The white bottle is Piñata Pearl white but you don’t actually need it. What polyurethane are you using? Maybe let it dry long if it is colder weather where you are... until it is almost clear.
I am also having the same problem 😔 I've done 3 different dry times for the polycrylic and the alcohol ink is still runny. Also using the same alcohol ink in the video as well. The result is still nice but it's more challenging cuz then I'll have excess alcohol ink in the ornament running around
@@DIYCraftTutorials thanks for coming back to me. It might be the polyurethane so I’ve ordered another to try out and yes it’s cold where I am. Maybe I got too inpatient and didn’t let it dry for long enough. Will see how the next batch goes haha x
me to. I think i might try the cabothane as i was using Jo Sonjas. Even super fine glitter is not sticking with varnish i am using :-( i dont know if leaving it too long to dry or not long enough
@@deborahshaw4489 exactly. It might be too long that it’s dried up, Or not long enough ! I think the gloss I used has a long dry time. I’ve ordered a fast drying one so hopefully 20-30mins should be enough! Just waiting for it to come so I can try again. Will keep you posted.
Hello! I have links in the description to the products. You can use polycrylic or cabothane (they are the same product with a different name). Always use clear with a glossy finish.
LOVE how these turned out!
Beautiful and so creative. 👍🤗
Absolutely gorgeous, well done 😊
How long do you let the poly sit before dropping in ink?
Beautiful! Can’t wait to make my own
Just Beautiful! 🤗

Just stunning! How long do you let the polyurethane dry before adding inks???
20 minutes
Gorgeous
Will diluted mod podge work rather than polycrylic?
Absolutely Beautiful!!! What an excellent gift idea
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful!!
So beautiful 😍
Hi there, these are beautiful! Are you using glass or plastic baubles? I am having trouble finding glass baubles anywhere! Thanks, Kim
Plastic baubles. Glass blanks are hard to come by 😔
hey I know this is late but I found some at joann's a couple days ago!
Love the ornaments and the techniques!
Does it work to use glass ornaments instead of plastic? I have a bunch of glass ones
Yes it does :)
That looks so cute and easy to make 🙂
Thank you ☺️ They are!
What purpose does the poly serve? I’ve been attempting to do with with just the ink and it is still transparent. Is this the reason why?
It acts as a spreading medium to move the ink abit further. Have you added glitter? The glitter stops the transparency.
I have not tried that but I definitely will. Thank you!
can you use regular clear glue?
Beautiful!!!!! How do they stand up year over year?
I have had them for over a year now and they are exactly the same as when I made them! If done correctly, you won't have any issues.
Hello, I’m in the uk and can’t seem to find any of the Cabothane Water Based Polyurethane/polyacrylic?
When I use the glitter at the end it just soaks up the ink, clump up and falls out leaving blank spots inside. Am I using too much ink? What am I doing wrong?
Try using a little less ink and then leaving the ink dry alittle before glitter
May I ask why the polycrylic first?
Did you buy your inks from somewhere in Australia? I see your link takes you too Amazon. I am in Queensland.
I dont know what happening to mine the ink isn't as bright as yours and it leaves a wet amount from the oil and the glitter won't stick it clumps
How many of polycrilic can I add for a bauble of 60mm?
Your baubles are white but I didn't see you use any white. Or did you? If you didn't use white, how did you produce the white? And how long should you let dry before adding the ink?
I used white glitter which coated the inside
How much glitter did you use for each?
Is polycrylic ok, instead of cabothane? How long do you have to work with it before it dries?
Yes, they are the same thing
I wait about 5 minutes
These are beautiful what font did u use ?
Beyond Infinity

What is the purpose of the polycrylic inside?
It holds the glitter in place
What font did you use?
Can you use polyurethane for this project?
yes you can
could you use pigment ink too ?
Yes
Hello! Love these. Can you clarify Polycrylic or cabothane to order? Clear? Glossy? Etc. theres many types. Thank you!
