Like a bag of potato chips...you can't stop at or choose just one! 🤭I really appreciated the mercury glass tutorial. Minimal steps (skilled steps) but the payout was off the charts spot on. NEW SUBBIE HERE ON THAT ONE BRILLIANT TUTORIAL.😘 Thankyou Evelyn! Tip for those wanting to recreate: Dollar and a quarter Tree has plastic clear in multiple sizes and even flat/oval shapes. ($1.25). If your store is already sold out, they are currently running a flat rate shipping of $5.99. Often only 6 count is required to purchase online. If you live in a city with a store, just ship it there and pickup for free avoiding the shipping fee.
The cement version and the one with baking soda. I like to transform vessels with the paint and baking soda methods. Super excited to try doing that with ornaments!
These look so pretty! I can’t wait to try them all! The macrame ornaments would be perfect for a coastal-themed tree, along with the beige, sandy-textured balls and a few white starfish hung with ribbons .
Second time watching this, 2 years later! Still love all these ideas. I really like how simple but effective the tissue paper mache works out. I'm going to try some baking soda (called bicarb soda in Australia) ones. Instead of the darkish colours I'm going for a more mature midway green and blue. (I wish I could show you the colours I'm using. They are gorgeous and not very traditional for Christmas since Christmas is done a bit differently in Australia where it's our steamy, hot, beachy season.) Instead of using flour at the end, I'm going to stick with just using the bicard soda straight. (We get a LOT of insects inside during summer- so I want to minimise the risk of attracting them to anything food-based.) I'm definitely going to mix in these with some white tissue paper ornaments though. I think the contrast will look amazing. Your tutorials are so easy to watch and listen to. No excessive noise/talking! It felt very natural. You're an excellent teacher, putting us all at ease with your tone.
Thank you so much! I love how you’re taking your own spin on the ornaments and incorporating the colours and textures of your Australian Christmas. It sounds so beautiful ❤️ I appreciate your sweet comment!!
yes when they are dry you mist it in. I use it on old windows, spray the glass and when it's dry i spray black paint, you could brush on black paint also@@denisef3228

I love that idea!! That would give it a lot more texture, I did some more diy ornaments and started crumpling up some napkins and dabbing the paint on like that as well and it looked very nice! Thank you for sharing 🥰

If you spray black paint in the looking glass ornaments they will really look like mercury glass. This will make it more opaque.
Great idea! I’ll have to try that next time, thank you!
