I live 40 min south of Indy. I grew up visiting the very streets you just toured and still enjoy downtown. This video popped up out of nowhere and really hit home. Thank you for the content. I love Indianapolis!
just wanted to say thanks for these videos.. even though it’s probably not the most popular video series… but as someone who was born in indianapolis (irvington) and moved out to the greenfield area when i was 3. never got the chance to get to know people that had this knowledge. it’s nice to finally get it
Interesting reading where apparently there were negative comments. I'm like whatever. I have worked in Indy for years. I guess I would be considered a negative person because I would never consider living in the city limits. I live up in Lebanon and I love it. I have lived in other areas BUT I still love Indy for it's opportunities. Some of us just are not urbanites lol. Thus said, please explore further into central Indiana. For example these days southern Boone County, the Whitestown/Zionsville area is essentially a suburb of Indy. Good work thanks.
I live in LA, and I'm really interested on moving up to Indiana, I've been looking for very clear and informative videos about pros, contras, culture, anything! that can help me make my decision and prepare for it. You honestly heard my mind, great info!, very clear, very important details, talking about the infrastructure to restaurants areas. Also, great takes and pictures all around the state. WOW I really appreciate you have this channel. THANK YOU!!!!
If you move to downtown indy only get a condo with indoor parking (break in problems outside) if you want a cheaper small house with garage and are a hipster Fountain Square is older area with restaurants and Broard Ripple area has many bars and night clubs. If you don't want crime and desire a descent house and yard then move to the outskirts of i465 loop to greenwood on south side, greenfield on east side, Brownsburg on west side, or fishers, Westfield, Noblesville on north side. Stay out of downtown at night if you can and before you leave LA you must leave all of your liberal ideas there
you bring whatever political beliefs you have. Indiana is a republican state, but indianapolis is a democratic city. whatever you believe, i hope you come to indianapolis and find your home!
@@i-fart-n-elevators4610 Yes please. The Democratic Mayor in Indy has destroyed what was once a great city. The homicides are off the charts. And now it's spreading out to the suburbs.
Thank you for the videos. I recommend visiting Garfield Park and doing a video. Nice old homes surrounding a beautiful park. Close to downtown. The park is wonderful, especially in the summer with the Saturday farmers market and its event schedule with events like Jazzfest and Irishfest. It’s a neighborhood that is starting to be discovered. Thanks again!
Indianapolis is stunning. I wish I could move back. Comptons, I visited Bottleworks Hotel in Dec 2021. Maybe devote part of a video to that area of long ago and present day. Meridian-Kessler is still a favorite area of Indianapolis.

@@LivingInIndianapolis Thank you for responding so quickly, thought it was worth a shot. I grew up in Center Grove and moved to WA in 1997. Love your videos. Almost makes me homesick.
Do some videos on the northwest neighborhoods within Indy like eagledale, pike, traders point, international marketplace etc. super close to downtown but still sorta suburban.
Let's be honest indy ain't nothing but a big ghetto with a few nice buildings and some rich folks sprinkled in the mix I use to work in indy and believe me there ain't nothing nice I hate to be mean but it's the truth every man for themselves

@@scottyevans5206 ..Indy has one of the best downtown's around..Its the 2nd fastest growing metro in the midwest..While the Crime Rate in Marion County is high, it's not as high as many nearby cities..Most of that crime is not in the downtown area but in the nearby ghetto donut blighted residential areas that extends about 2 miles from downtown for a mile or two. Until they start actually punishing criminals Indianapolis will keep spiraling downwards . And the homeless is out of control . I feel bad for the businesses that have to put up with it .
Indianapolis has really gone downhill in the last 3-4 years. Crime is especially bad and the prosecutor doesn't want to keep people in jail or prosecute criminals.
Lol you only believe what fox 59 news tells you … Indianapolis is a rising city & becoming a popular city for hosting events. It’s only getting better. Crime isn’t an issue within the city it’s the outer suburbs that has the crime
That’s because Indy is an up & coming city. We are expanding a lot. Why do you think a lot of vendors want to host events in the city. 1. It’s very clean. 2 it’s walkable distance to many places within the city. 3. It’s a good city. .. that’s why the college football Championship was just hosted here & the NBA 2024 All star weekend will be Indy
@@fairamir1 no homeless problem? I dont know where your at lol. But homeless is everywhere downtown. An you really dont want to be there at night you may get shot. I have also been in the Mall while it was being robbed.

Getting ready to locate there what are some good rental areas?
Gainbridge Fieldhouse is inside Miles Square. The Fieldhouse is just north of South Street on Pennsylvania.
Coming across from UK for the big race, what is on that week please, which Bars are good to visit.
Visit the bars on meridian street & bars on Mass ave
Thank you so much
I just moved here about 5 months ago and it is so interesting learning about mile sqaure and how well everything is laid out. Awesome vids!
Thanks! Welcome!
Jason Compton, what can you learn about Downtown Indianapolis?
I’m from Indy and I love this video however be careful on the east side of downtown( just outside of it) there are many gangs there
No ones scared of them unless the person knows they did anything. The gangs in Indy here are like you have to do something to be you know
Yes violent crime has become a big issue in Indy and especially on the east side.
Do you tour Evansville at all ? and how far is that from Indianapolis about ~
About 3 hours or so
