- This was a really good rendition for Pentatonix. Then again, what don't they do that's good? Blinding Lights (Original Song by The Weeknd) has a very achieving /end game feeling that just sounds amazing so to hear PTX cover it it makes my heart happy. Everyone did great but I truly believe Kevin was the backbone to this one.

I still think it’s amazing that they did this, and a whole EP, while in quarantine in 5 different places.
Kevin is their secret weapon honestly. I remember watching an interview and Kevin mentioned that he was very particular and made a very complicated beat box section for this song since it’s The Weekend and his songs have great beats

I've noticed on this new album that, while he's not a full out beatboxer, Matt is putting a lot more percussion and instrumentalism into his bass singing. He and Kevin make a really dynamic duo. So did Avi and Kevin, just in a slightly different way. Congrats to Kevin and his wife on the birth of their daughter. I had one of my own 29 years ago, and she now fronts her own blues group in Nashville. ;-)
They did this in quarantine. Each person was filmed at their house and somebody masterfully edited it. If you want to see Scott in the most awesome suit ever react to happy now which is an original. I read in a comment section That matt rodent

Even in quarantine they were matching their outfits in style! Red & black in this one! Once harmonies are added to a cover from a solo artist, the song comes to LIFE!

Yeah, that's definitely Matt. He seemed to really have fun with this one. I think they ALL had fun with this one. I'd really like to know what The Weekend thought about this one, because they kinda bested him at his own song (and this is my favorite song of his). Good job with the fireworks overlay...it actually kinda goes with the video! And it should draw people who haven't actually seen the video yet to watch the official one. If SME has problems with that, then I can't figure out what the hell they want...
I can tell you the new original album is a blast. If u want more kevin matt stuff, go to Coffee In Bed& Never gonna Cry Again, if u want more kirstin solo, go to be my eyes& exit signs&it's different now
Kevin is, by far, THE most talented member of the group in my opinion! I LOOOOOOOVE them all, and no shade on Matt, but Avi is, and always will be my favorite, and now that he's gone, Kevin has filled that empty spot in my heart that Avi left

Kevin is the backbone of Pentatonix. He's my favorite followed by Matt because what they are doing requires years of practice and a good ear. People talk about Matt but rarely Kevin. I think he is overlook sometimes

Good thing they are a complete ensemble that can about cover anything musically. Kevin's beatboxing is one of the best out there, Matt's bass is getting even better and jelling extremely well with the group. That trio of Scott, Mitch, & Kirstin is still the best out there. This group is and always will be FIRE! They are Elite.
I found recently an interactive video for a song I’ve heard a million times and it lets you pick each member and just shows their part for the whole song and you see so much more than you can hear just listening. It is for the song can’t sleep love. You have to play the song 6 times, 1 for each member and once as a whole but even if you don’t do it as a reaction which I think would be fantastic but I’ve never seen anyone else do it, I highly recommend watching it yourself. The video I’d called Can’t Sleep Love (interactive version). I’ve loved this band so long that I can usually hear everyone without seeing them and I really didn’t think there would be any surprises and even mitch’s part, who has the most recognizable voice for me sang parts I hadn’t realized in this song. I wish they did this for every video because they are usually recorded separately anyway except where they have videos where they are all together in one shot the whole or most of the way through. I love your ptx reactions. Thanks for sticking with them even though they can be difficult to get posted. I love that you are watching Queen as well. Selena is another legend I highly recommend.

I agree. Kevin held down this song. He does in all the songs, but the nature of his beatboxing was more obvious in this one. They were all wearing red/black. I wonder if their producer says to them, "OK...just find something in your wardrobe with red and black and we'll go with that." Great review and reaction as always. Did you hear Kevin is a daddy now? She was just born earlier this week. The first Pentababy.

They are acapella, and brilliant.
Yes Kevin shines as he always does just remember that he has a Musical Degree from Yale. Kevin has perfect pitch and they all tune to his vocals. I have seen videos where they each talk about filming themselves from home. Their zoom sessions were crazy but the video is well done and I am sure Ben had a big part in the production.
Kevin was actually an East Asian studies major as well as pre-med, though I think he also played in Yale's orchestra.
