Although, it wasn't quite ACROSS the World, it was an 11 hour flight from California to Switzerland and if you add in the travel time from door-step to door-step, it was almost 18 hours.
The process of getting our cats on the plane was not as simple as informing the airline that our carry-on is a living, breathing animal, but rather quite strenuous and stressful. BUT, don't worry we break down the process for you in today's video to help make it somewhat more clear.
Rule of thumb, however, is always double check the destination country's SPECIFIC rules, because what we have learned is all Airport Employees know there are rules, but don't exactly know what they are. So don't rely on the employees haha. Your brain and google will be the best resources here.
We are really excited for what's to come in the next 6 weeks and we look forward to sharing the journey with you :)

I took Bandit with me! Poor guy - we had a layover in Paris. He got a kidney infection from holding his pee for so long!!! Even though I had not given him any water. I think the baggage handlers felt bad for him so gave him some. He didn't pee in his crate. But as soon as he got out of his crate he peed for like 10 minutes - in the airport!. I had an international passport for him. (I had to get myself a chest x-ray in the airport to check for TB!) - that was 1987! The first German words I ever heard were "SO HERTZIG!!!" - A Swiss woman ran up to Bandit in the airport and fussed all over him!

hey Becca! Im looking to fly with my cats internationally to Egypt. I have never done this before and would be travelling alone with my 2 cats. Is there anyway to expedite the document process. Trying to travel in about 10 days. Any advice? Im extremely terrified of this whole process to be honest and not looking forward to it at all.
I am not sure if it can be expedited but if you are waiting on the form you send in 10 days prior to leaving the US I would calll that office and see if it can be rushed. They were helpful when I had to call.
