Make your own cream of soup so you know what’s in it. Melt 2 tbs butter, add 2 tbs flour. Blend well into a paste. Add two cups of vegetable, beef, chicken broth or milk. Add your choice minced celery, mushrooms, broccoli. or 2 cups shredded cheese for Mac and cheese. Blend and melt. Add garlic, onion, salt, pepper, your spices. Pour over elbow macaroni for Mac and cheese. This recipe is 40 years old from a LaLeche League cookbook. We also love Weber’s Beer Can Chicken seasoning. Great for chicken, hamburger, scrambled eggs, Mac and cheese.

To balance the acidity in tomato/marinara sauce without adding sugar - stir a small container of strained carrot baby food into the sauce while you are mixing/cooking it.

Your sweet and sour meatballs reminded me of a recipe I learned about when I was first married. My husband’s best friend was Hawaiian. He taught us about “12345 Ribs”. Place 1.5 lbs pork country spare ribs in a crockpot. In a small bowl, mix the following: 1Tbs sherry (dry) 2Tbs soy sauce (or your sub) 3Tbs white vinegar 4Tbs sugar (or 6 pkts Sweet n Lo) 5Tbs water. Pour over the ribs (I usually double the sauce). Cook on low 6-8 hrs. You can thicken the sauce with a cornstarch/cold water slurry if you’d like.
Made the Lazy Man Lasagna today. Used my favorite jar sauce with two can of Fire roasted diced tomatoes. Used frozen tortellini bc that’s what I had on hand. Added a little ricotta bc again, had it on hand. Turned out so well! Thanks for the inspiration!
It’s like you read my mind! I recently developed a wheat allergy (in my 30s!) & am waiting for my allergy test results to be certain 😂 I was shocked to see that the cream of potato / mushroom cans I usually use in my pot roast crock pot recipe had WHEAT! That looks so good. Years ago when I worked in the cafeteria at a school the supervisor said you just take your lasagna noodles dry and layer in your pan. It saves a step and it is so good that way.
I always bring my ricotta to room temp, stir it well, then use a butter knife to spread it on the dry lasagna noodles. Layer with meat sauce, shredded mozzarella & spinach then pour over a half to one cup of water to soften the noodles, bake, yum.

I've been looking for a SC baked bean recipe that isn't just canned baked beans with extra stuff added and is more from scratch and this looks awesome! Thanks for sharing!
My best Crock Pot recipe came from the original recipe pamphlet that came with our first Crock Pot. Hamburger Casserole does not use any "Cream of" soups. My family also refers to it as "clean out the refrigerator casserole", because I tend to make it when we have fresh vegetables that need to be used NOW. The casserole is comprised of sliced potatoes, sliced carrots, frozen peas, sliced onions, browned hamburger, minced garlic, sliced celery, condensed tomato soup and water. Layers of everything go on the Crock Pot in the order listed, salt and pepper each layer, with the soup and water mix poured over top. 6-8 hours on Low, and it's Dinner.
use to rely heavily on the lamxtew recipe and split pea soup recipe. i think that little cookbook had potroast recipe with stewed tomato instead of the cream mushroom recipe,

Thank you for these because I don’t use cream of soups either. If I find a recipe with them, I just make a homemade cream of soup but I don’t always feel like doing that extra step🤣 I’d love more of these
So grateful for these not being cream of's. I try to take in the least amount of sodium that I can due to health reasons & the canned soups are loaded with sodium.
Hi I noticed you said you use a blender to smash up beans to thicken soup. If you do not have a blender you can put cup of beans in a bowl and use a fork to smash beans then mix in smashed beans back in soup! Another way to smash beans to thicken soup you can take a wooden spoon and smash beans on the side of pot. I really enjoy your recipes! NELLIE
For your meatball recipe try 1 jar of grape jelly with 1 jar or 2 of chili sauce or if u make your own chili sauce that works to it really good ! Cheers

I'm with ya on no cream of canned soup! I found through experimentation that any bean soup turns out great with dry beans cooked on high for 6-7 hours. Don't have to soak or pre cook. Just throw in the ingredients and let it be.
I'm with you adding extra cumin and extra beans (I sometimes even triple the beans.) I've substituted green enchilada sauce when out of green chilies. I don't like corn in things either, although I love adding hominy to chili. Have you tried Mexican oregano? It has a slightly different flavor to Greek or Italian oregano, and I especially like it in chili or Tex-Mex dishes.
Thank you. These are great ideas. Love ravioli. ❤ the meatballs look delicious. Chicken soup is a nice idea. Why is a bag in the crockpot? For easy cleanup? What about cooking in plastic? All your recipes look good, just got distracted by the bag thing.

I’m an empty nester widow, but always cooked homemade meals for my daughters. I make homemade meals for myself now because I don’t eat out much and freeze them into individual portions for work meals. I also divide the meals in half and have a whole meal for one of my daughters and then the other half make into individual meals for myself. I still get to make my favorite meals for myself and provide meals for my daughters. I haven’t learned to cook for one.
I too am widowed and find cooking for just one is expensive and honestly just depressing. I love this idea - sharing the joy of good food and familiar tastes
I never use cream of soups.! I rather cook where I can govern the intake of salt and carbs.! But I was in need of different recipes, (I think I’m in a rut.!). Theses are great and different.! Thank you for what you are doing.! I’m new to you and will be watching more.!!

This all sounds so great, for anyone to use. Thanks God Bless ♥️🙏🏽🙏🏽

So, of course, I think you are cute as can be too! Best of luck with your YouTubing Videos! You are great at it!
Hey Amber! Thank you for these recipes I Am looking forward to trying some of these. In the potato soup recipe do you have a suggestion for a substitute for the butter? Butter is so pricey for us right now I Am looking for ways to continue to make good meals. Any suggestions are welcome💜.
Butter (animal fat) substitutes; Schmaltz, also known as rendered chicken fat. Tallow, also known as rendered beef fat. Lard, also known as rendered pork fat. Or bacon fat, also known as rendered bacon fat, lol. Just use a bit less of any of these. Animal fats are good for you.
Came across your video and it’s great , learned a lot I needed to find recipes and I am going to try some of your recipes,I live in Scotland uk and we can’t get some of the ingredients you used but I think I can work around that , Thankyou for including information as to what can be used instead of a particular ingredient I found that very useful,an excellent video with great instruction

So glad you enjoyed! You're welcome
You are awesome. God bless u sweet girl. You saved me searching for food ideas this week. ❤❤❤
You are so welcome!
Great idea!!
I too am widowed and find cooking for just one is expensive and honestly just depressing. I love this idea - sharing the joy of good food and familiar tastes
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Your video came up at the perfect time! I'm a new subscriber. Loved the Bible verse at the end. 😊
Awesome! Thank you! I'm so glad you're here.
Thank you Amber for another quality and engaging video on crockpot meals! I haven’t used mine in sooo long, so I’m definitely inspired!! Godspeed💜🙏🏻💜
You are so welcome!
I never use cream of soups.! I rather cook where I can govern the intake of salt and carbs.!
But I was in need of different recipes, (I think I’m in a rut.!). Theses are great and different.! Thank you for what you are doing.! I’m new to you and will be watching more.!!
We rarely make a recipe that requires it, but if I do, I just make up a homemade "cream of" base really quickly. It's very easy to make!
Heavy whipping cream at the end is so so good . 1/2 to 3/4
Oh good idea!
If you had included photos of even the meals you just popped in the freezer, this already excellent video would’ve been perfect! (That would have given me the opportunity to “eat first with my eyes,” and all that jazz.)
That's a great tip!
See..lI like Crock pot meals, loving the cream of soups. I have health problems ( pinched nerve) in lower back and other health problems, but..standing or sitting to long hurts me, so..these meals are good to try and fix to help me with meals. Thank you for your video dear.
You're welcome!!
Good evening Amber and thank you for sharing your yummy meals
You're welcome! Always love sharing with you all.
It’s just so much easier to do this in a big pot on the stove. I never know how long to cook something in a crock pot. And… well … I’m impatient so I want it now. This looks so good
Thank you so much!
I just found your channel and what a revelation for this video. I'm loving these crock pot meal ideas and plan to try a lot of them. Great channel and cute name.
Thank you so much. So glad you're enjoying!
Thank you so much for the amazing looking recipes.
My pleasure 😊
I thought this was for diary free recipes. Looks delicious either way!!
Just "Cream of soup" free!
Love the recipe ideas and will definitely try most of them out, but just thought I’d suggest you do your research on the dangers of plastic and our food.
Have a blessed day.
I bought a huge box of them at Sam's Club a while back and didn't want to waste them.
Do you have a cookbook ? That would be great. This would really make a good gift for anyone, but I’m thinking of my daughter and her husband, although he is a very picky eater, but he just found out he has a horrible cancer about 4 months ago and she’s been taking him to Chemo treatments,
Your recipes would be great she could have them made up, wouldn’t take so long to figure what they’ll have to eat at any time. This all sounds so great, for anyone to use. Thanks God Bless ♥️🙏🏽🙏🏽
Maybe one day!! I would love to have a cookbook.
Oh yea!!!!!! Just what I needed.
So glad!
Oh thank god..finally
Glad you enjoyed!
THANK YOU !! THANK YOU !! NO CREAM OF NOTHING !! 😊 !!

Yes!! I avoid crockpot dishes because of the “cream” soups. Thank you ❤
You are so welcome!
OMG ... did YT just read my mind.. I wanted a crock pot recipe w/o cream of's. Thanks for this vid.
YAY!
i love all these! I make the exact same potato soup, but i add italian sausage instead of ground beef. Just a little more flavor, but not ham.
YES! Great idea!
Love, love these recipes! Gotta try the lazy lasagna!
It's so good!
These all sound amazing. Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Great video, maybe you could show us how to make cream of soups to use instead😊
I think I did it one video. But I will remember that next time I make it too!
So true!! Thank you for a non cream recipe!!
Hope you enjoy them all!
So glad I ran into your channel. I also pass once I see “cream of “ bc I have to be gluten free and they all have gluten. Thanks for these recipes. Those items you use that have gluten, I can sub with gluten free items ie. noodles or flour.
I am so glad you enjoyed!
Everything looks Delicious 🤤❤️❤️
Thank you 😋
I too, bypass the "Cream of Whatever" soupcan recipes. Too many additives/chemicals in those little soupcans! But I DO love your recipes a LOT!! You are very engaging, very easy to follow along with, and such a good cook! I am a Grandma and I think you look like you could be one of my daughters! So, of course, I think you are cute as can be too! Best of luck with your YouTubing Videos! You are great at it!
Aww!! You are so sweet. Thank you
Thanks for the new recipes, I Love my crockpot
Right? So easy.
Hey Amber! Thank you for these recipes I Am looking forward to trying some of these. In the potato soup recipe do you have a suggestion for a substitute for the butter? Butter is so pricey for us right now I Am looking for ways to continue to make good meals. Any suggestions are welcome💜.
Honestly, you might be able to go without it, or if you feel like it needs a touch of fat, maybe an olive or coconut oil. Just a touch.
Butter (animal fat) substitutes;
Schmaltz, also known as rendered chicken fat. Tallow, also known as rendered beef fat. Lard, also known as rendered pork fat. Or bacon fat, also known as rendered bacon fat, lol. Just use a bit less of any of these. Animal fats are good for you.
We cook with bacon fat. Coconut oil is neutral in flavor, works really well in some dishes as a substitute. Might have to adjust quantity.
All of these look so Yummy. The lasagna looks soooo good, have to try 😋 Thank you for the Scripture... Subscribed and hit the 🔔
Thank you so much. Definitely try it and let me know what you thought!
Great recipe ideas! Thanks so much for sharing.
You are so welcome!
That ravioli brand (Giovanni Rana) makes an AMAZING pesto sauce, as well, I always add it to my lasagna.
Thanks for the tip!
