I’m actually glad that they changed, “I love you” to “I need you”. Saying “I love you” is just saying one thing. But Dean telling Cas that he needs him, that’s Dean’s way of being vulnerable and open. Admitting that he needs someone after all that he’s been though. It also fits more with Dean’s character and speech pattern. Also, saying, “I need you” can also mean so many other things. It could mean that Dean simply needs Cas’ help to deal with the angels, it could mean that Dean needs Cas emotional, that he needs Cas to be with him, or it could mean that he loves him, or all of the above. That’s just my opinion.

There is this scene in S12 or S13 when Dean was suicidal after Cas died; he was taking too many risks on hunts and lost hope and challenged the Empty not even to get himself back to Sammy - even the Empty told Dean that Dean had changed. When Jack brought Cas back, Dean’s change was like from night to day. Sammy noticed and told Dean he was happy to see him happy. Dean told him that he was waiting for a win, and having Cas back was a pretty big win. Sammy closes the closet with a smile on his face. The way that scene was framed was that his brother was outside, on the other aide of the closet, and Sammy gave that finality of shutting the closet doors with a smile. I don’t write the script, stage the set, do blocking, I don’t frame, choose or edit the scenes. Hundreds of people do that called cast and crew. So yeh, fans are not stupid.
I don't think that Dean could have come out of that closet. He was too ingrained with his father's ideas, too indoctrinated about the "male role" that his father forced on him, to the point where, in The French Mistake ep, he called himself "a painted whore" when he realized he had makeup on.

The fact that people ever card this friendship is either heteronormativity, homophobia, or both. They were really sooo obvious that even a casual watcher could see it. Good friends shown in tv are Link and Jo (Grey's Anatomy), Caitlin and Cisco (The Flash), and so many other best friends. Cas and Dean acted more like a couple than friends. Not everyone sees things the same as you. I was never a destiel shipper, I always thought they just had a deep meaningful friendship. Cas is an Angel, not a human so some of his behaviour can be put down to that. I'm not against Destiel, especially since 15x18 but I wouldn't say it was written that way from the start. I actually think these clips combined together can be proof his feelings for Dean evolved over the years. But these clips were spread over years, so it was less obvious to non shippers.

These are just a few for Dean's end. Next come for Cas's end. Do I really need to give a proof? He marked Dean when he saved Dean Winchester. He literally left Heaven to be with Dean. He thinks they have a profound bond. He took on all the purgatory souls to kill Raphael, who would have kick-started apocalypse if left alone. And apocalypse will mean end of humanity. Here, we think he loved humanity. This is made clear when he gave up his entire army of Angels for Dean. They had asked him to kill Dean. (Not Sam, just Dean) Basically, this Angel fell for a human, and started a Free Will crusade and went against Chuck's ending in season 5, and started "writing it as we go" and we ended up with 10 more seasons! Because he wouldn't let Dean have a sad end! What can I say?...
@@0__o723 I'll be doing a rewatch at some point and I can say I'll be looking at things differently, from the Destiel point of view and from the Chuck point of view. I know there was a lot of suggestive moments, but a lot of them are like banter and jokey moments. Some of them are deep but to a lot of people Cas seemed like a brother to Dean, so those moments can be seen both ways. We all interpret TV shows in our own way, this is why I watch reaction videos because it gives a different perspective on things.

@@johnaart I think they would have eventually had to move away from the show being totally dark, but I feel like it added an extra element that later seasons were lacking. Later seasons just didn't seem suspenseful or scary because we knew that Hell and all the big bads were "no big deal" and resolved in three episodes or less with barely a focus on that plotline over the course of a season.
One thing I realized only now is that if Castiel was portrayed as female their romance would have been real like since season 5/6 but once they are both males they were like "nO hOmO" for all these seasons and anyone who shipped them was accused of queerbating and I hate that. Also Love isnt only about sex my pals. Destiel feelings are at least a platonic relationship.

When Cas said it, he had already rescued BOTH Sam and Dean from Hell. Yet he favored Dean by far. And it wasn’t because Dean was harder won. Cas was at full power surrounded by angels the first time. Sam was in a much harder to reach area of Hell, alone save for Crowley and the demons. He also had to get past BOTH Lucifer and Michael. Neither of whom liked him very much. Sam was WAY harder to rescue. Yet after everything, Dean was the favorite! Finally.
To everyone saying it's not cannon or its one sided, please look up the Spanish dub! In the original seen he says "And I you cas." When he confesses his love, and its dubbed over to say "don't do this." Also you don't have to spout how much you disagree, no one made you watch this! Be nice.

Destiel has always been Canon. We just never knew. It was the only relationship that we watched begin from the first meeting and grow into something real over all those years. The boys already had a relationship and it was beautiful to watch it change and grow
Rewatching the whole series made me realize why the angels were so hands on with Castiel. It's like they knew Castiel was falling for him before Dean even realized it.

The fact that people ever card this friendship is either heteronormativity, homophobia, or both. They were really sooo obvious that even a casual watcher could see it. Good friends shown in tv are Link and Jo (Grey's Anatomy), Caitlin and Cisco (The Flash), and so many other best friends. Cas and Dean acted more like a couple than friends. For people to completely dismiss it as girls perishing gay people, overanalyzing, delusions, etc is just dumb. There's nothing to analyze since it's right in all of our faces
Oi, I'd like three examples of them being blatant in their relationship being romantic.
Not everyone sees things the same as you. I was never a destiel shipper, I always thought they just had a deep meaningful friendship. Cas is an Angel, not a human so some of his behaviour can be put down to that. I'm not against Destiel, especially since 15x18 but I wouldn't say it was written that way from the start. I actually think these clips combined together can be proof his feelings for Dean evolved over the years. But these clips were spread over years, so it was less obvious to non shippers.

Dean literally has a mental breakdown when Cas died. (When Cas was stabbed by Lucifer) He even tried to commit suicide. And then when Cas is back, he's so happy that Tombstone happened. (Mind you, Sam was alive and with Dean at this moment.)
When Cas stayed behind in purgatory, Dean couldn't handle the fact that Cas left him and chose to stay behind. So much so that his subconscious mind *made up* a false memory that he couldn't save Cas because Dean would rather torment himself than be okay with the fact that Cas stayed behind in purgatory which is literally a torture zone for Angels.
These are just a few for Dean's end.

This is made clear when he gave up his entire army of Angels for Dean. They had asked him to kill Dean. (Not Sam, just Dean)
Basically, this Angel fell for a human, and started a Free Will crusade and went against Chuck's ending in season 5, and started "writing it as we go" and we ended up with 10 more seasons!
Because he wouldn't let Dean have a sad end!

@@0__o723 I'll be doing a rewatch at some point and I can say I'll be looking at things differently, from the Destiel point of view and from the Chuck point of view. I know there was a lot of suggestive moments, but a lot of them are like banter and jokey moments. Some of them are deep but to a lot of people Cas seemed like a brother to Dean, so those moments can be seen both ways. We all interpret TV shows in our own way, this is why I watch reaction videos because it gives a different perspective on things.

@@johnaart I think they would have eventually had to move away from the show being totally dark, but I feel like it added an extra element that later seasons were lacking. Later seasons just didn't seem suspenseful or scary because we knew that Hell and all the big bads were "no big deal" and resolved in three episodes or less with barely a focus on that plotline over the course of a season.

Sorry but as I'm watching this it really is hitting home how hardcore they went in with the q*eerbaiting. I guess you can't technically say it was baiting if it became canon but they only just shoehorned it in, and so pathetically too that it feels just like a piss poor cover up for all of THIS... I mean god. My heart rate while watching this was going crazy, the tension is palpable. This is a lesson for filmmakers and directors on how to fucking avoid making characters seem as though they have a romantic connection if it's not the intention (which during the early seasons actors and show runners made it clear it wasn't). I hate the writers for doing this to fans lol.

When Cas said it, he had already rescued BOTH Sam and Dean from Hell. Yet he favored Dean by far. And it wasn’t because Dean was harder won. Cas was at full power surrounded by angels the first time. Sam was in a much harder to reach area of Hell, alone save for Crowley and the demons. He also had to get past BOTH Lucifer and Michael. Neither of whom liked him very much. Sam was WAY harder to rescue.
Yet after everything, Dean was the favorite! Finally.
