Great video. Very informative. Can I check if you had snow tires during your entire trip or had to change to chains some places. My driving experience during heavy snow is limited.

Thank you for your comment. Yes, we had snow tires on our rental car and I would highly recommend those to avoid skidding. Ours was a small sedan with a FWD, and you will do fine with a FWD if you plan to stay on the highway and visit the major towns such as Banff, Canmore and Lake Louise. However, I would recommend having an AWD or 4X4 if you’re planning to go off-highway to places like Johnston Canyon, Peyto Lake, Castle Mountain, etc. because the smaller roads are not cleared as often and the snow can accumulate. We got stuck twice, once on our way to the Johnston Canyon and once in the parking lot of Peyto Lake. We were lucky to get some help from some kind strangers. Plus, always keep a shovel (small or large) in your car, comes in handy to clear the path and build some momentum when you’re stuck in snow. All the best!

Great video, how was the train noise? Im reading reviews that say it is extremely loud at night?

Thank you! Frankly, we couldn’t hear the train noise. The train passing by is not that frequent anyway, it’ll occur probably once a night. However, different people sleep differently and some light sleepers may have an issue.

Beautiful video. Can you give a link to good ice cleats?

Thanks a lot! You should be able to get a pair from any Mec, Decathlon or Sail store. Or you can rent them for very cheap ($10 a day) at any outdoor equipment rental store in Banff or Canmore.

Music too loud compared to your voice

Thank you for pointing that out. Planning to invest in a good mic before our next video :)
