Several years ago, the Russian Orthodox Church officially added St. Patrick's Day to its church calendar, although the holiday with festivals and all this green booze was celebrated in many cities even before that. So we also have a little bit of Irish culture here.

As a Canadian, Russia is my favourite country. When I was a student I went to study in France for two years. France is a nice country but I was very homesick. Then for three weeks during the Christmas season I went with a friend to visit his grandparents in a small town about 250 kms from Moscow. The Nature felt exactly like Canada! The trees, the sky, the snow…I felt like I was home again. And, of course, the wonderful people. We even played street hockey!!
In Russia there is a song called "The sky is blue over Canada" and it's about a Russian immigrant in Canada that feels like Canada reminds him of home a lot but still doesn't feel right because he's homesick. A funny coincidence.

Don’t believe what you hear on internet or television.I’m from Moscow myself and almost everyone I know would like to move to US for a better life(young gen).Probably a lot of people who answered in this video “Russia” have never been abroad,but I’m not sure about it.Because in my experience every time I come to EU(Germany for example)it’s more like a whole different universe,people are so chill,cities look clean and you literally can find everything in supermarkets.But there are still a lot of people who are brainwashed by the government,because amount of propaganda in Russia is comparable to North Korea(not 100% like that,but everything that you will hear about other countries will be dirt,and it already seems like everybody is our enemy while watching tv).
As a Russian, it really upsets me. I've been to US a few times and all around Europe and I have to say that the majority of people are open to each other. None of my friends have nothing against US. It's about politics, not people. I also get really upset because of the stereotypes of westerners about Russia, like if we were some underdeveloped country with bears on the streets smh. While in reality Moscow and St Petersburg are one of the top cities in the world in terms of infrastructure, architecture etc.

The mass (mainly because of Hollywood) usually knows about countries like France, Italy and Japan for example, then we have those who also know about countries like Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nepal and Colombia (some of them for historical reasons for example). And then there's only a small part of the mass (it's usually people that are so curious about the whole world that they want to know about every country) that knows so much on geography that they know about countries like Mozambique and Bhutan in this case. I myself represent that small part of the mass since I've been interested in countries since my childhood.

I stopped watching TV around 6-7 years ago when all that nonsense about Ukraine started. Cause for me Ukrainians are friends, no matter what TV says. Same with Latvia. To be fair after watching foreign TV news I totally understood why we name it "зомбоящик" (Zombie's box) in Russia. Cause it's really a nonsense. @Egert Roos why should you be embarrassed about who you are? I am Russian, many people in the world dislike us just for the fact who we are. But is it a reason to be embarrassed? No. I cannot say that Estonia isn't loved. Generally it isn't known, which is pity, but that's understandable. Estonia has a little population and it's hard to find people who can promote such a country. I don't try to insult you and your country, I still think that Estonia is great. And if you ask about Russians. Well, younger ones like Estonia. Unfortunately older generation is often stuck into propaganda. The problem is: back in their time there was no internet and no possibility to contact people abroad. And parties program was to make Russian an international language. So I don't blame my grandmother for disliking Estonia and Finland and pretty much everyone else. Because she cannot contact with them, she simply doesn't know English or German at least, which she studied at school, but the quality of it was... Ehm, if there only was somebody from DDR to tell about the quality of Russian language in their schools back in times 😅 So, obviously, she cannot contact with the world around her. She is a living dinosaur for the age of globalization. And don't get me wrong, I don't blame my grandparents, cause they are my family, they love me, I love them. And whatever they are - they are my family and till they pass away I'll stay for them, because I awe them my life. But the reality is, I cannot be with them more often than TV. So in Russia older generation is really less friendly to foreign countries, but they are still very hospitable. Cause even when some my friends arrived from Poland, my grandparents were very friendly, and not a single word about politics. Younger generation really is much more friendly. I think we all go through the evolution and once we get what we need. Because world and people should not be divided so radically like during the Cold War.

I visited Moscow two years ago and I find it one of the best destinations I visited so far (out of 30+ countries). I hope to revisit Moscow, but also to visit St Petersburg and some other places around the country. Travelling by TransSiberian railroad would be great too! I cannot be ungrateful for the help from the virus. Especially since it was the early days of the virus and Italy was one of the first to be hit and Russia had yet to be attacked by the virus. Quite the opposite in fact, thanks must be given to Russia. However this was a Political move by Russia, agreed on by many in the International community. Russia was expulsed from the G8 after the annexation of Crimea a few years ago. Italy and Russia do not have a problem with each other but by all accounts this help from Russia was so Italy can influence the G7 to allow Russia back in. Of course, who am I to know if this is true but it has to be considered. Now. The help from Cuba to Italy is less certain. Was Cuba (close friends with Russia) being used as a proxy for the same reason or was it something else? Anyhow, I have no problems with anybody.
Serbia is in our hearts, and when asked about our favorite countries we Russians usually think about something else, about their most popular and tourist, like Spain or Italy
I am a Russian guy and I want to say that there is only one country in my mind - Serbia. I understand that there are bad people everywhere all over the world and even in Serbia, but I don’t care because I am sure that I will never get lost in Serbia, never starve or freeze on the street, etc. The Serbian people never turn away from Russians under any circumstances. On another channel, I watched a video where the Serbian people spoke warmly about Russia and no matter how much I thought, I have a million reasons to love the Serbian people because they are my brothers and sisters. I don't need any reasons to love my family, I just love them. It's the same with Serbia :)

As a Canadian, Russia is my favourite country. When I was a student I went to study in France for two years. France is a nice country but I was very homesick. Then for three weeks during the Christmas season I went with a friend to visit his grandparents in a small town about 250 kms from Moscow. The Nature felt exactly like Canada! The trees, the sky, the snow…I felt like I was home again. And, of course, the wonderful people. We even played street hockey!!
In Russia there is a song called "The sky is blue over Canada" and it's about a Russian immigrant in Canada that feels like Canada reminds him of home a lot but still doesn't feel right because he's homesick. A funny coincidence.
I feel stupid for being so surprised how warm Russian people are.. I really need to stop watching James Bond movies 🤦🏼♂️

Don’t believe what you hear on internet or television.I’m from Moscow myself and almost everyone I know would like to move to US for a better life(young gen).Probably a lot of people who answered in this video “Russia” have never been abroad,but I’m not sure about it.Because in my experience every time I come to EU(Germany for example)it’s more like a whole different universe,people are so chill,cities look clean and you literally can find everything in supermarkets.But there are still a lot of people who are brainwashed by the government,because amount of propaganda in Russia is comparable to North Korea(not 100% like that,but everything that you will hear about other countries will be dirt,and it already seems like everybody is our enemy while watching tv).
As a Russian, it really upsets me. I've been to US a few times and all around Europe and I have to say that the majority of people are open to each other. None of my friends have nothing against US. It's about politics, not people.
I also get really upset because of the stereotypes of westerners about Russia, like if we were some underdeveloped country with bears on the streets smh. While in reality Moscow and St Petersburg are one of the top cities in the world in terms of infrastructure, architecture etc.

The mass (mainly because of Hollywood) usually knows about countries like France, Italy and Japan for example, then we have those who also know about countries like Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nepal and Colombia (some of them for historical reasons for example). And then there's only a small part of the mass (it's usually people that are so curious about the whole world that they want to know about every country) that knows so much on geography that they know about countries like Mozambique and Bhutan in this case. I myself represent that small part of the mass since I've been interested in countries since my childhood.

About people. Well, I've never been to Estonia, but have seen a lot in Finland, where I often go. As I know Finnish I kinda understand Estonian and had several discussions with several people from them. I think they were nice, but at some point they have something Russian in them. Like we go on a ship and there's a sign (No smoking). Finns don't smoke there, I also don't do that. Estonians and the majority of our Russian group: smokes right under this sign 😅

I am Russian, many people in the world dislike us just for the fact who we are. But is it a reason to be embarrassed? No.
I cannot say that Estonia isn't loved. Generally it isn't known, which is pity, but that's understandable. Estonia has a little population and it's hard to find people who can promote such a country. I don't try to insult you and your country, I still think that Estonia is great. And if you ask about Russians. Well, younger ones like Estonia. Unfortunately older generation is often stuck into propaganda. The problem is: back in their time there was no internet and no possibility to contact people abroad. And parties program was to make Russian an international language. So I don't blame my grandmother for disliking Estonia and Finland and pretty much everyone else. Because she cannot contact with them, she simply doesn't know English or German at least, which she studied at school, but the quality of it was... Ehm, if there only was somebody from DDR to tell about the quality of Russian language in their schools back in times 😅
So, obviously, she cannot contact with the world around her. She is a living dinosaur for the age of globalization. And don't get me wrong, I don't blame my grandparents, cause they are my family, they love me, I love them. And whatever they are - they are my family and till they pass away I'll stay for them, because I awe them my life.
But the reality is, I cannot be with them more often than TV. So in Russia older generation is really less friendly to foreign countries, but they are still very hospitable. Cause even when some my friends arrived from Poland, my grandparents were very friendly, and not a single word about politics.
Younger generation really is much more friendly. I think we all go through the evolution and once we get what we need. Because world and people should not be divided so radically like during the Cold War.

I visited Moscow two years ago and I find it one of the best destinations I visited so far (out of 30+ countries). I cannot be ungrateful for the help from the virus. Especially since it was the early days of the virus and Italy was one of the first to be hit and Russia had yet to be attacked by the virus. Quite the opposite in fact, thanks must be given to Russia. However this was a Political move by Russia, agreed on by many in the International community. Russia was expulsed from the G8 after the annexation of Crimea a few years ago. Italy and Russia do not have a problem with each other but by all accounts this help from Russia was so Italy can influence the G7 to allow Russia back in. Of course, who am I to know if this is true but it has to be considered.
Now. The help from Cuba to Italy is less certain. Was Cuba (close friends with Russia) being used as a proxy for the same reason or was it something else?
Anyhow, I have no problems with anybody.
