    I love this channel so much. When I do homework I love listening to the sound of the lawn mower because it brings me back to my childhood when my dad would be mowing the lawn and I'd be inside playing with my friends or my brother, or when I can't sleep the sound is so peaceful to me it puts me to sleep almost instantly. Not to mention how nice it is to watch his mowing technique, nothing more satisfying than that zero turn lawn mower. :) Thank you, I've been watching for so long but I don't think I've ever left a comment.

    I used to do lawn Care similar to this years ago. Whenever I had something overgrown like this yard is I would always bag the clippings. I charged an extra $30 or $40 to haul off the clippings just part of the package.

    • @4GuitarTrance
      @4GuitarTrance 3 роки тому

      @@Something2LookAt Man... rental properties in homeowner areas are ruining neighborhoods. A LOT of people no longer take really good care of their homes and when people purchase former homeowner homes in those areas for rental property it more often than not takes the neighborhood down a few notches.
      My Mom and Dad's former neighborhood was always manicured and looked like the perfect little neighborhood out of a movie... that is, until real estate people started buying up homes when people passed away, turned them into rental properties, and, well, "There goes the neighborhood," as the saying goes.
      I have great memories growing up there and now it's a virtual mess of a cr@phole neighborhood.
      What a shame... many no longer care about nice-looking communities. Even younger homeowners let their properties get shabby and unkempt and many times go into disrepair quickly.
      Sad... at least to me it is!

    I bought a set of gators a while ago and I love them. They work awesome for my little 42" tractor. They mulch great, can't even see the clippings when I'm done they're so small, but gators also throw and bag it pretty well too. I don't get rows or clumps with them. The edge seems to last a little longer than the oe blades also.

    • @Something2LookAt

      Did you sharpen your blades after you receivers them? I know some people say they sharpen them before their initial use. I didn’t do that, and noticed that they didn’t cut as clean as my hi-lift blades. I don’t do mow any properties in the fall that requires me to mulch leaves, so it’s all about the grass for me. I just got them sharpened, so I’ll see if that makes a difference. If not, they’ll be a waist of 💰 for me. Btw, my blades are the G6s on three different mowers.

      Brent Hill for leaves, I would think that they’d be sharp enough for that. For grass,...it seems like a different story. I’ll put some sharpened G6 blades on to do some mowing in the next couple of days. I’ll post how they do on grass. Hopefully they’ll do better than they did before.

    At 6:05, if you look at the discharge opening, it looks like it’s clumping, but it’s not. What it’s doing is gathering the excessive clippings into a glob and once it discharges out and hit the grass, it comes apart.

    Running the string that long is a great way to really mess up your clutch and motor for every extra bump on the head you lose 1,000 RPM and you put an extreme amount of stress on the trimmer and makes the trimmer work twice as hard

    • @Something2LookAt
      @Something2LookAt  4 роки тому +1

      Just for kind information sake, that has not been my experience. Been doing it this way for 30 years, never had a 2 cycle engine "blow". My trimmers last 5-6 years and they usually break in other ways. Never have had a seizure or compression loss. And from my experience, if you only look at trimming rate, you'll notice that a wider swath is getting more done faster even though the basic ground speed is slower. One wide pass vs two narrow ones. And the trimmers are not blowing their engines. Really.

      Yes! Go with the Kavli Finisha blades! This was kind of an experiment going back to Gators to see if the difference is noticeable. It's huge! I felt like I was gonna blow the engine! So much strain with the Gators. And the Kavli's are like a hot knife through butter. I took the Gators right back off!

    Its interesting to me that some lawn guys always weedeat first, then mow. But others weedeat afterwards. Interesting. Also, i dont know what was going on with the mower blades, but they laid a lot of clumps down without cutting it. Any particular reason whyyou didnt get the grass behind the AC unit? Just curious.

    • @Something2LookAt
      @Something2LookAt  4 роки тому

      I never go behind AC units. Can you see the wire dangling? Well, there were more loose wires back there too. And the weed whacker can break the coolant line too. AC units are rarely installed with weed whackers in mind. That all has to be done by hand back there.

    • @cathiwim
      @cathiwim 3 роки тому

      @@Something2LookAt thanks for the good reply! I hadnt thought of that, because most of the AC units I run across are part of the interior HVAC unit in the house. I have been known to scrape the outer cover off a ham radio antenna cable though(it was at my house). Hubby was not pleased!
