With this, Triss will help you in the epilogue and you will meet a Iorveth paralyzed/crippled by Philippa's magic. Still grasping the enchanted dagger.
Dark prince Are you kidding he's looks more badass in this one compare to part 3 were he looks like a normal retire guy who just want to spend some time alone with someone but he can't do that
People always made triss lying to geralt like it was such a big deal triss wasn't sure about her findings so she investigated more for more evidence i thought that she actually lied not this lel
As much I love witcher 3 I can't help but think that Geralt was a bit more badass in witcher 2. He was a bit more light hearted and funny in witcher 3 which was great too but in this you seriously wouldn't want to to fuck with him
loafhero eh his physique was fine you saw he was stacked during the interrogation you just mentioned. He wasn't humiliated either, if that interrogation hadn't happened Geralt would have been killed as a kingslayer. Dunno what choice you made but I wasn't captured by Nilfgaardians, I allowed it to see Shilard. As for QTE deaths they aren't canon lol your only good point was the Dethmold fight, it was weak writing to ensure Geralt would see Saskia as the dragon.
loafhero and the point is he is still stacked in witcher 2 even if it is less than witcher 3. Yeah and Geralt can reply with a witty remark to that. He is less worried than Roche expects him to be. Yeah Shilard orders Geralt dead, doesn't mean if Roche didn't interfere that Geralt wouldn't have got out of it anyway. Witcher 3 didn't have QTEs at all in cutscenes which was a better choice tbh but they were easy so if you fail them you deserve an embarrassing death, my favourite being falling off the dragon lol
@loafhero exactly, Geralt has so many badass moments in the Witcher 3 and a lot of sassy ways to respond to people, Witcher 2 geralt doesn't hold a candle against his third game counterpart
She offered to help him find her at the beginning of the game. She was gonna do a magic spell with a petal from a Rose of Remembrance that would give him his memory back
You're right, but I wasn't quite talking about the voice. It's in his speech patterns. In Witcher 3, his speech felt more alive despite being somewhat monotone as if he was in the modern era, in here he talks like a man who is dead inside more fitting for the era he's in.
Not sure about the era. But witchers are supposed to be deprived of emotion. Witcher 2's Geralt sounds more emotionless and Witcher 3's Geralt sounds a little more lively despite being monotone.
Witcher 3 is an amazing games. But I just prefer Geralt's look, voice, behavior as well as the story, plot and atmosphere in here. @@iscissor1 I agree. Wild Hunt's story could have been 10 times better though, all that build up for the Wild Hunt was great already. Not that Witcher 3 has a bad story, it's very good, just more emotional and with very little to no politics and intrigues at all. :(
Wow the dialogue as well as Triss in particular is a bit more intelligently written than TW3. Triss comes across much more intelligent and capable here. I never knew this side if Triss in TW3. I prefer this level of political intrigue to the wild hunt.
I think by " Don't insult me "triss doesn't refers on insulting her about being. Used by lodge RATHER ,She asks geralt to "not Insult her love for geralt, that her love for him is infant , and true 🥰"
I have had this game in my steam library since before i played Witcher 3 but never got around to it... looking at these cut scenes it's quite astounding how much better flowing the dialog in the Witcher 3 is in both writing and performance. just makes me appreciate the Witcher 3 so much more... still gonna have to play through this when i finish my current Witcher 3 playthrough, if it's even half as good it will be worth the effort.
@@CanIHasThisName That's not quite my point, wether it is 100% based on books, or an adaptation, a story driven RPG will have long dialogues to give context. Moreover in games with a book basis, you generally find longer than usual dialogues that refers to the books (i.e. quoting the books), or a vast unseen lore.
Hmmm. This is a very informative video for those of us who only played TW3. What puzzles me now is what Yennifer's role was in all this and why she is so anxious to re-establish the Lodge in TW3. Re-establishing the Conclave makes sense, since they appear to have been a responsible governing body for mages, but the Lodge?? And why is everyone in TW3, including Geralt and Triss, so anxious to protect Phillipa and keep her out of Radovid's hands? As little as I like Radovid, I think I would have stood by and cheered as he gutted her after seeing this.
They need powerful mages for the fight against the Wild Hunt and Phillipa qualifies. The only thing you can have against her is personal hatred. She's no different than other individuals who desire power, including those who already have it. People don't become powerful by being nice and smiling. At the end of the day, Radovid has done worse things BY FAR.
@@CanIHasThisName I'd choose the Lodge over North Ruler and the Empire anytime, At least the lodge doesn't plan to exterminate other races and hunt other mages, they're not really planing to wage more wars and expand once they can get to settle in a mage haven kingdom. I did not play the game yet, but I find it a bit sad that it seems so ignored by the community. People don't seem to talk about it as much as the first one even, let alone the third. I wonder why that is.
"How can you risk your life for a witch?" All I can think is Geralt replying: "How can you?" My only problem with the whole "saving,' scene, is that Triss is so melodramatic, you'd think she be a little more excited? Grateful? A kiss would have been nice... But I do gotta admit, her comment about: "You killed them all?" "They didn't slaughter themselves..." Was priceless.
How ? She's a liar who manipulated Geralt and could've helped him regain his memory much faster if she had told him the entire truth straight away in The Witcher 1, and as Philippa said (i think) she lacks courage and determination as a Mage. Losing one more Sorceress isn't that much of a loss, compared to letting Philippa and Sile have a Dragon at their command, and thus leaving Vergen and the whole of upper Aedirn fall back under Henselt's rule or something.
@zgb14 Exactly. Saving Triss means a lot of people are fucked afterwards, she's just not worth it. Whereas saving Saskia still means Philippa and Sile's plans are foiled, Vergen doesn't lose their Leader and Triss lives regardless. I always let Letho live, because he did save and help Geralt prior to TW2, and although Foltest seemed nice, I don't hold much love for the Northern Kings and Kingdoms. My only regret when you save Saskia is that you don't get to kill/have Shilard killed. But it seems that Emhyr takes care of that anyway...
@@Tomcat_Coyote no saving triss means a lot of people and mages are saved. in that case radovid has a conclave of mages and only burns those who don't wanna serve him in witcher 3. you can even meet carduin in witcher 3 in that case. according to a comic named "matters of consequences" iorveth path is canon and judging by its plot it's safe to say that iorveth managed to release saskia from phillipa's spell with her dagger, but he did it in a wrong way so she can't control her dragon form completely, which means that saving triss is canon as well. still i sided with dijkstra because he improved the north and got rid of witch hunters and racism. they should've not turned radovid into an edgelord tho because according to witcher 1 and 2's lore non humans and humans lived peacefully together in redania under his rule. zoltan's dwarven fiance's father owns a lot of mines in redania and elves also had special place where they had jobs as artists, blacksmitsh (one of them still works as a blacksmith in witcher 3) etc etc.

When you realize that witcher 1 and 2 used the same engine as dao and witcher 1 came out looking different in graphics compared to dao like I saw a clip of just the hills and mountains in witcher 1 I thought it was dao
It wasn't the same engine. The Witcher 1 used an heavily modified Aurora Engine (used by games like Neverwinter Nights), The Witcher 2 used the Red Engine made by CDPR and Dragon Age Origins used the Eclipse Engine
It was probably the best way to bring Geralt back from the dead without introducing a large backstory to bridge the gap between the books and the games.
Witcher 2 was soooooo good. I personally liked it more than Witcher 3. Before CDPR jumped on the open world bandwagon. Don't get me wrong, Witcher 3 was good, but Witcher 2 just felt much more engaging and immersive.
Yeah, each witcher game have it's own strenghts which CDPR made a great job of highlighting. In all honesty though I wish Witcher 2 was a bit longer, like Witcher 1 perhaps, but would it be as strong game then if it was dragged on for longer I'm not sure. It's a great bridge between W1 and W3.
I strongly disagree. I almost gave up on the second game halfway through. Way too linear and very monotonous. While I can understand why that would be more appealing to some, I personally consider it the worst instalment of the series and that's taking into account the horrendous combat system of the first game.

Why does the author hate these games? I am aware that he doesn't like that Geralt survived the wild hunt at the end of the book series, but that can't be the only reason. Right?
Jesse A I think it may be resentment. His books ended on a particular note yet the games then ignored that ending and started Geralt's journey once again, becoming extremely popular in the process. But it's quite alright in my view. People may have their views
A simple reason is that author, Andrzej Sapkowski, didn't expect any success when he sold rights to CDPR. He charged only once not a big amount of money. AND when games became popular (The witcher 1 had sold over 1 mln copies) he realised he was left with almost no profit from it.

Again this is about Geralt, triss is even plain boring since W1 and I see geralt liking more of a romantic rollercoaster and thats Yennefer... he is a hunter, he is the wolf after the gazelle at their romantic cutscene. Damn if not about Geralt but me, I would have supported the stupid Hjalmar to see a King of Skellige and not a smart "strong woman" Queen.
I love how this entire game has an entirely new context now that you know the full story from The Witcher 3. I wish CDPR would remake Witcher 1 and Witcher 2 with the Witcher 3 engine and re-do the voicework. I'd kill to play both of them again but with a fresh coat of paint. The story's can stay identical because they're fantastic as is.
I always wish to know the line that Geralt says I don't trust you. Thank you, xLetalis.

With this, Triss will help you in the epilogue and you will meet a Iorveth paralyzed/crippled by Philippa's magic. Still grasping the enchanted dagger.
Hmmm witcher is definitely the best for walkthroughs 😀
geralt looks so creepy on this one.
Dark prince Are you kidding he's looks more badass in this one compare to part 3 were he looks like a normal retire guy who just want to spend some time alone with someone but he can't do that
Its because of graphics
geralt in witcher 1 is more...you know...
He looks younger and actually like a mutated human would look
You mean he actually looks like a Witcher
People always made triss lying to geralt like it was such a big deal triss wasn't sure about her findings so she investigated more for more evidence i thought that she actually lied not this lel
That damn tattoo, I never found the herbs.
That glitch tho at 1:58 where he tries to click "I couldn't leave you" But it's stuck and chooses the other option. I hated that
Press Escape it should help
Look the way those two talk to each other. I can feel romance there😍 Triss will always be the one for Gerlat for me
This game was a masterpiece in its own way. Nice upload!
Didn't exactly reveal everything but close enough
6:35 she wanted to play Gwent with Philippa
9:14 Triss is like: "Oh no he knows of yennefer" and "fuck, i cant use him anymore" :D
She offered to help him find her at the beginning of the game. She was gonna do a magic spell with a petal from a Rose of Remembrance that would give him his memory back
9:15 "That means...You're gonna leave me for Yennefer...AGAIN!"
wow, their eyes look so lifeless. I'm glad they managed to give it more soul in witcher 3
Its better in witcher 2
Geralt speaks differently in here compared to Witcher 3. And I'm not just talking about the voice.
ScrodingerIsAlive User 627 I noticed the voice changes a bit
You're right, but I wasn't quite talking about the voice. It's in his speech patterns. In Witcher 3, his speech felt more alive despite being somewhat monotone as if he was in the modern era, in here he talks like a man who is dead inside more fitting for the era he's in.
And what era he is in? And what his voice have to do with it?
Not sure about the era. But witchers are supposed to be deprived of emotion. Witcher 2's Geralt sounds more emotionless and Witcher 3's Geralt sounds a little more lively despite being monotone.
But Gerlat is unique in that sense that the mutations didn't supress his emotions.
T: You have no memory of how the world worked.
G: Actually I know *exactly* how it worked.
T: *Oh shit...*
The model of Triss is sexier in Witcher 2 than in The Witcher 3
Witcher 3 is an amazing games. But I just prefer Geralt's look, voice, behavior as well as the story, plot and atmosphere in here. (And of course armors and weapons lol)
The lighting is also far better here, much more fantasy like and fitting. I think I'm going to play through it again now that I've seen this lmao. :D
I think this look of Geralt is most fitting for his book description :)
@@xLetalis Indeed, and the most badass imo.
It's also a shame that it doesn't make any (big) difference in W3 if you saved Triss or went with Roche / Iorveth. But hey, at least we got W2. :D
As much as I love the witcher 3, I preferred the witcher 2 story. The wild hunt didnt interest me that much compared to the tricks of Letho and Philippa.
@@iscissor1 I agree. Wild Hunt's story could have been 10 times better though, all that build up for the Wild Hunt was great already. Not that Witcher 3 has a bad story, it's very good, just more emotional and with very little to no politics and intrigues at all. :(
"How could you risk your life for a witch"
Could ask you the same question
"How do you know of the Lodge?"
"I read the books"
We need a Remastered Witcher 2 for next gen consoles! Great Game!
Wow the dialogue as well as Triss in particular is a bit more intelligently written than TW3. Triss comes across much more intelligent and capable here. I never knew this side if Triss in TW3. I prefer this level of political intrigue to the wild hunt.
You know what I like about geralt is that he is an honest and forth right man even when he is surrounded by vile conniving deceitful people.
YOU'RE BACK!!
"If Síle fears anyone, it's Geralt of Rivia."
3:11 👀 the proof that geralt is werewolf 👀
I think by " Don't insult me "triss doesn't refers on insulting her about being. Used by lodge
RATHER ,She asks geralt to "not Insult her love for geralt, that her love for him is infant , and true 🥰"
"Stop thinking with ur vagina" -Phillipa to Triss
I have had this game in my steam library since before i played Witcher 3 but never got around to it... looking at these cut scenes it's quite astounding how much better flowing the dialog in the Witcher 3 is in both writing and performance. just makes me appreciate the Witcher 3 so much more... still gonna have to play through this when i finish my current Witcher 3 playthrough, if it's even half as good it will be worth the effort.
Damn I need to replay TW2
The Butcher of Blaviken great game
and I thought there was a lot of talking in TW3...
You've got to remember that it is based on books, long dialogues are to be expected
Miraideat I know lol, but I enjoy the conversations, so it doesn't bother me
Miraideat just finished tower of swallow and omg is the dialogue long lol
@@Miraideat It's not based on books, it's a free adaptation of books.
Emhyr laughing as the manipulated everyone without even stepping outside of his court
A dialogue that long we don't have in Witcher 3, thank god.
@@CanIHasThisName I'd choose the Lodge over North Ruler and the Empire anytime,
At least the lodge doesn't plan to exterminate other races and hunt other mages, they're not really planing to wage more wars and expand once they can get to settle in a mage haven kingdom. They are schemers, but which rulers in this universe isn't ? I loved Foltest, but I think the sorceress
lodge would make better rulers than any other.

I did not play the game yet, but I find it a bit sad that it seems so ignored by the community. People don't seem to talk about it as much as the first one even, let alone the third. I wonder why that is.

I actually prefer this one to the first
I like witcher 2 more than 1 and 3.

Enhanced edition
triss looks better in witcher 2 than in witcher 3
I burst a laugh when she said "9 women rarely agree on anything" .
"How can you risk your life for a witch?"
All I can think is Geralt replying: "How can you?"
My only problem with the whole "saving,' scene, is that Triss is so melodramatic, you'd think she be a little more excited? Grateful? A kiss would have been nice...
But I do gotta admit, her comment about: "You killed them all?"
"They didn't slaughter themselves..."
Was priceless.
Saving Triss def feels like the best most positive choice for the ending of The Witcher 2 n overall mages
@@Tomcat_Coyote Yeah I always save Saskia, Letho saves Triss either way wich gives Geralt another reason to let him live.
@zgb14 Exactly.
@@Tomcat_Coyote henselt's rule isn't that bad because he only executed 3 of saskia's men whereas nilfgaard commits genocide against the whole city.

I played witcher 2 start to finish and dont remember this part plus the graphics are completely different than what I remember explain this nonsense.
you may have chosen a different path, going to rescue Triss is optional, as for the graphics... they could've been worse on launch?
Maybe because you've chosen to rescue Anaïs, Foltest`s bastard daughter.
Biggest pro to rescuing Triss. Shes hot.
And not toxic like Yennifer. At least in the Witcher 3
I love the Witcher 2 but god damn do I hate the amnesia plotline
It was probably the best way to bring Geralt back from the dead without introducing a large backstory to bridge the gap between the books and the games.
lots of rpg utilize amnesia...it allows the player freer roleplaying options
Geralt has been eating too many little debbie snack cakes
Well, not everything. She still left ..a couple things concealed.
Damn the Nilfgardiaans are unending.
The best mission in the whole game.
What mission is this?
it's if you choose to go after Triss towards the end
Haha you got the tatoo !
You've made a few typos in the caption. Should've been "Geralt Rescues Triss & She Bullshits Him For 9 Minutes Straight"

He despises video games and views players as stupid people generally.
@@samaepl Im starting to dislike him...
People who know him (the author) and his work well have a love-hate relationship with him lol
A simple reason is that author, Andrzej Sapkowski, didn't expect any success when he sold rights to CDPR. He charged only once not a big amount of money. AND when games became popular (The witcher 1 had sold over 1 mln copies) he realised he was left with almost no profit from it.
