@@spitfire8616 frankly, it has neither. it's a unique sound that's pronounced differently from the english r or l. it's only taught like that to foreign learners so it's easier for them to understand.

I think this song is about Japan's tendency to favor tradition above all. I've heard stories of outrageous things happening just because tradition dictated it so, even though the situation should have been handled differently. The aliens (ワレワレ "we") are recent generations criticizing and questioning the values of older generations, hence the mention of anachronistic laws. This is all just interpretation of the translation that Kai provided, though.
I think the same, a criticism of the people/generation that can't accept the new changes.
I don't think it's meant to be specific to Japan, I think that's just because they're Japanese.
Personally it comes across to me as referring to people that want to make everything fit their preconceived ideas(& dumbing down/stereotyping things in the process), whether from tradition or a choice to belong to a specific group. With the advent of the internet, that's become rampant.
It seems like a very "Fuck the boomers" kinda song which... Yeah sounds about right.
But tbh with how subjective music is, the meaning can vary wildly from listener to listener.
tradition is a good thing. we've seen what abandoning it has done to the west. so many mentally ill people and they are being encouraged. now they are trying to infect japan as well
I'd venture to say that that exists everywhere in the world. As people get older, they become less and less willing to change the way they think. A result of this is that they become, as you said, especially traditionalistic. That's a fact about humans in general I think, not only Japanese people -- I can tell you for damn sure it's true in the US, too. I think what Utsu-P is saying, ultimately, is that when one becomes unwilling to ever admit to being wrong, just so they can feel good about themselves, and even enemize the new generation that developed better ways of living, they will be left behind without mercy.

One of the (sadly) rare cases where I actually really like some of the new music. I have to say though, that breakdown at 3:00 is so fucking sick. Love the sound design, love the rhythm, love the riff. It's just fantastic
I feel like Utsu lately has been making a shift in the right direction. For me he reached his peak with Moksha, from then on it was a slow and steady decline, but nowadays I'm REALLY into some of those new songs. This one's definitely hot fire.
I feel like every utsu-p era has its own charm but these new songs have a real concert feel it’s great :D

Artists express themselves differently over the years. I know my own friend who did a lot of hardcore in the early 00's and he's moved from that to rap because he's not angry anymore. Could be that Utsu is a similar boat in that he no longer feels the need to express with such harsh music. As well his production work has improved by leaps and bounds.
I love his blending of metal and electronic music and have always loved such music styles and with every song he gets better and better. I love the experimentation he has done over the years and even with that Moksha is one of my favorite albums by him. I will always be an Utsu fan because his music speaks to me and has continued to do so over the 8 years I've been listening.

After I first heard your music and quickly got addicted, I immediately started looking for other artists that made similar. I found a few kinda close ones like Cepheid and Okame-P, but Utsu-P is just on another level from everyone else. He truly is the king of this genre.
The only other composer I would dare to compare Utsu-P to is Yuyoyuppe.
