The reverse jets killed me
I’m pretty sure jets can do that in the real world, it’s called reverse thrust, though most airliners don’t use reverse thrust, they use pushback trucks instead. Im pretty sure the military uses reverse thrust a lot though.

@smudgekitty19 reverse thrust is used to shorten landing distance on bigger planes that are impractical for tailhooks, couldn't be used for backing up. But yes, they do exist!
commercial jets do not have afterburners, and if they did it would not come out of the other side.
Reverse trust works by using plates, that redirect the thrust generated, towards the front.
A really visible example of that would be the Panavia 200 Tornado

No most fighter jets don't have reverse thrust just big cargo planes like the C-130, C-17, C-5, A400M etc. Commerical jets do use reverse thrust but were only allowed to use them on the ground after touch down or in case of abnormal operation during takeoff to decelerate the plane. The main reason it is a huge safety precaution for the terminal and ground crew. Not only this, but noise complaints are really annoying for airlines and airports. That's why noise abetment proceeders are used doing SID - Standard Instrumental Departures.
