This has got a bit of a story attached to it. When I started this UA-cam channel in October 2023, I had already started to go through the mp3's I had of her Signature Collection that she released in 1996. Years ago, I ripped the cds and put them onto my hard drive. I then matched what I had on the HD against the actual CDs themselves to make sure that I had everything.
With the acception of the Nabucco in New Orleans (which I found the disc of only a month ago), I had all of it in directories, but the directory on my hard drive for this concert was empty. I knew I had transferred it from cassette. It was even on the catalogue spreadsheet. But it was nowhere to be seen.
Imagine my surprise last week when I found the actual cassette for it. Not only that, but I had written the catalogue number on the front! The plot was getting thicker, because I would not have put a catalogue number on the front unless I had transferred it. And I knew that I had done this one. It was the first one I did on my own after the person who WAS doing all the transferring then, left our lives. So I had to learn how to do it in order to continue to expand her catalogue.
Now we travel forward to when I was going through a LOT of boxes a number of months ago, when my darling Adrian came to help me get a grip on the boxes in the garage (which looked like the last scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark). Only I could go through that lot. I still have boxes to get through but more on that in a Community post. I had a clear objective that if I came across anything that belonged to my husband, I would put it in a separate pile for him to go through. He is a network engineer so I invite you to entertain the visual of the many cables I found. Think of a very large plate of spaghetti!!!
A few weeks ago, he came to me with a CD wallet that I had put in his pile of things "This is not mine dear. Look at what's inside. Those are your discs". So I grabbed it from him and put it aside.
After I had finished the Don Carlos this week, I opened this little CD wallet up and decided to have a look at one of the discs. There was one that said "Aida114, Image Transfers, Liverpool Uni, Irish Radio - March 2006 Backup" And wouldn't you know. In a wav file, in a directory, was the very concert I knew I had transferred.
The only thing left to do is for you all to enjoy it. This concert, although short, is a very good reflection of how Mum chose her items. Many will know that she didn't do scales and warm ups before a show. But a keen musical eye will notice something very interesting about the items she chose and the order in which she sang them. They are an exercise in themselves and each one achieves something different to exercise certains parts of the voice. It was because of this that I knew I had transferred it. I remember Mum telling me "this is the best demonstration of how I warm my voice up using the songs I sing".
Mind you...how she sang the encore after the item before, baffles me!

This is wonderful ❤Love the image and text accompanying. I can absolutely hear what you write as the song choice and order act as a warm up in themselves 🤓
    Beautiful job 🥰
