Gris! I completely forgot about Gris, you are absolutely right, that would have deserved a place on here! I haven‘t played Sayonara Wild Hearts yet, that‘s still on my pile of shame
the most beautiful game for me is Xing: The Land Beyond. Has such breathtaking environments and special effects. The ambiance of the game is so relaxing and calming due to a combination of music and visuals.
I had never heard of this one before. I just watched a trailer and it looks really good! Would you say it has an interesting story to tell as well, or is the focus more on puzzling?
@@lilesindiecorner I'm not surprised, it seems to be really obscure (not many know about it). But it actually is an amazing game, one of my all-time favourites. And it's the first game like this (3-D puzzler) that I ever played. There isn't really one big story, but a bunch of smaller stories. They are told through poems that you find throughout the levels. They are personal stories. I really like that they did the story this way. It really adds to the beauty, charm, and immersion. The stories themselves are well done, telling stories that involve deep emotions that we can all relate to. The main levels have more puzzling than storytelling. But there's a bonus section of the game, this forest area with a bunch more levels in it (it needs to be unlocked through collecting runes in main levels) and all these are story and aesthetics focused.
@@stebobibo You definitely wanna make me play it. I'm gonna put it on my wishlist and see if there's a sale at some point. Because I really do like these games as well. And personal stories are my favourites.
@@lilesindiecorner 😁 I'm confident you'll enjoy it. It was such a memorable game for me. I even stated playing it again just now and it's still as good as before. It's sure to go on sale again. I got mine for 50% off 2 years ago.
@@lilesindiecorner Yeah I can see how it can be perceived as beautiful. Unfortunately my little time with this game didn't lead to any such conclusions.
My shout out goes to I Was A Teenage Exocolonist, which probably is going to be my indie gand of the year (maybe even game of te year if totk didn't exist). The art in that game is phenomenal and so abundant, too. And the music!!!
Thank you 😄 there‘s so much good stuff out there! I love the creativity behind indie games so much, there‘s always something innovative going on when it comes to the art and I‘m here for it!
Zdzisław Beksiński really does have a tongue-twister of a name, but you nailed it! also i burst out laughing at the Aphrodite part 😂 I will have to play Pale Beyond - never heard of it before and it really looks both beautiful and really interesting! I would put on my list of Most Beautiful (or visually interesting) Disco Elysium for sure - the environments manage to look both familiar and alien at the same time, and character portraits were so thoughtfully designed Also the way Signalis looks reminds me a bit of another horror game, but without the anime artstyle - Holstin it hasn't come out yet, but i played the demo - it seems to have similar pixel-style 3D (2.5D?) with intense focus on light and shadow
Angiiiie! Thank you, I gave it my best shot 😂 and thank you again for providing me with the correct pronounciation! Hehehehe, had to put something like that in, didn't I? The Pale Beyond has been one of my absolute favourites so far this year. It's combined so many elements I really liked, and the writing is just SO GOOD! Oh yeah, I didn't even think about Disco Elysium but you're absolutely right, it has something off-putting to it but also tons of charm. That would also have been a really good pick! I don't think I've heard of Holstin yet, I might have to look that up.
Gris and Sayonara Wild Hearts definitely deserve to be on this list

Just put undertale on there and is the perfect list
I Never considered Undertale to be a good-looking game, to be honest 🙈 but that‘s why you can‘t argue about taste. It‘s just extremely subjective
Such a great video, i love your content. thanks =)
Naw, thank you Scratch! 🫂

Bold choice putting Scorn in there lol
I know 😂 but it is a good-looking game, even if the combat is absolute trash
@@lilesindiecorner Yeah I can see how it can be perceived as beautiful. Unfortunately my little time with this game didn't lead to any such conclusions.
@@northzone13 I completely understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea. And the combat was just... awful.
I feel like I need to call out "Despot's Game" for it's pixel animation, it's just so freaking good.
I hadn‘t heard of Despot‘s Game before but watched a trailer now and yeah, some gorgeous pixel art!
Wasn't familiar with The Pale Beyond at all. Keen to check it out!
If you‘re into visual novels mixed with some solid resource-management, I can only recommend The Pale Beyond!
