Will miss Rog and Rafa. The rivalry is so special, reminds me of Borg and McEnroe and Sampras and Agassi. But Federer was more special because of his multi generational career.
Seeing Fed and Rafa crying like that is soooo powerful. Its so deep, complex, and profound what they are feeling... about life... i cannot even begin to articulate.
Greatness is not defined strictly by the numbers. Yes, they tell a story and for many that is all that matters. Yet, greatness is often defined by something more. One's impact, determination and will & ability to overcome the odds are among many characteristics that define the greatness of an athlete. What Roger has done on a tennis court goes beyond the numbers. He changed the game, making it beautiful. He was ruthless and commanding, yet so incredibly graceful that he made the toughest shots look easy. He made some of the best players in the world look pedestrian. He pushed his contemporaries to new heights. He made you laugh. He made you cry. He gave you joy and heartbreak. He made commentators giddy and go wild when he'd do something only he could. He was THE defining player of his era and perhaps the metric by which all great tennis players will be measured. Rafa is the most dominating player on a single surface and Novak is the ultimate winner but Roger Federer is the one who is spoken of with the most reverence. For all the great players who have ever existed and all the great player who are to come, the title of "greatest" boils down to only a few. However, for all he has done on the court and the impact he's had on the game as a whole, I submit to you...Roger Federer.
Couldn't agree more. If you look at Pele, Ali, Jordan or Woods; they weren't the greatest because of how much they won - they were the greatest because of the impact that they had on the game. All IMHO, of course...
@@rafanatic22Hold on a sec. He also made you disappointed every time he lost, which is a lot more than Djokovic or Nadal. So why don't you address that as well?
The pain will never leave me.... He is without a shadow of a doubt The Greatest Sportsman we will ever see.... I CANNOT see an argument/debate as to why he isn't !!!!!
to me the fact that he came back in 2017 to win 2 majors beat Rafa in the final and actually win Wimbledon without dropping a set at age 35 really makes him the goat for me. i mean has anyone done anything similar like that?
Ah roger such an incredible career that had to end with injuries. You deserved better especially in the end. If only you won wimbledon 2008 and 2019 you would be the undisputed goat. Forever my goat, the most beautiful the most talented player to watch, the player that created rafa and novak , the player that changed forever.
True , He is one of the greatest of all time and 20 time grandslam champion ,one of the greatest of all time, there are 3 goat's in this sport, the big 3 are the greatest to ever step on the court all 3 are goat's of tennis🐐🐐🐐
Being the GOAT is more than about the numbers - it's about the complete package. Roger was consistently voted fan favourite and favourite of his peers. He didn't go around smashing racquets against net posts and as far as I can recall he was never defaulted for his behaviour. He wasn't rude to umpires - he might have protested or had vigoroua discussions but he didn't behave in ways that would give you cause to blush or be glad your kids weren't around to witness the behaviour. He always behaved in a way that would make his family proud. If not for injury, who knows the numbers he might have accumulated. He played for the love of the game, not the accolades earned by playing it and we all loved him for it. So miss him and so glad that we now have Carlos who promises to be a worthy target of our joy and appreciation. Thanks to JCF for showing him how a true champion behaves and thanks to Roger for showing him the correct path, not the path of arrogance and entitlement. I am now off to bed to watch the rest of this video in peace and appreciation.
There's something so intoxicating and addictive about Roger Federer. He's a magnificent, inspiring and lovable tennis player because of his gorgeous looks, humble and kind heart, determination and tenacity, hard work and discipline, great passion for tennis and wonderful performance in playing this sport. He's a great legend, magician and artist rolled into one. He has ended his tennis endeavor but his journey continues as he carries on helping the poor and unfortunate children through his foundation. God bless you and your whole family and team most abundantly, Roger! Please continue inspiring and nourishing our lives with your incredible character and personality!❤
He's the reason why I watch and love tennis. He's so charming beautiful to watch and a great human being. Lucky me I could see him play with my own eyes. Without him tennis is nothing for me any more. Love you Roger you are the greatest of all time for me. Forever my No.1❤
Stylish Player to watch....Single Handed Backhand....Number of Innovative Shorts than any Other Players... Fast & Furious... No boring longer rallies... He is simply a Masterpiece and a GOAT 👍👍
Completely independent of the total amount of titles etc. He is simply the greatest player ever in playing skills with a racket in a hand, from sportman‘s and fair play side and as last but not least as ambassador of our loved sport as human personality. Not only in tennis, in complete sport history. Thanks Roger for this brilliant journey! Thanks to the Greatest of all Times! What a fantastic friendship grew up between Rafa and him. Mega!
In 2004 they were already talking about Roger as the best player of the modern era. And maybe one of the competitors for the GOAT debate. So, at that time he had already shown something so special that one could see that was totally from another level. My point is... Numbers are nothing but just statics. This man has made everything possible.

Roger I did not care if you won or lost but I loved you winning it was like watching poetry in motion so elegant and beautiful movement the words can't explain you elegance thank you you have given me so much joy ❤️
An absolute masterpiece! Thank you so much for making this... what a privilege it has been to be watching tennis in this incredible era with an artist of the caliber of Roger Federer! RForever! 🙂❤
Wonderful tribute - thankyou so much. For millions of us tennis fans, RF will always be the GOAT. Watching him at his best was a sublime experience of brilliance, grace and artistry.
It’s 1am in the morning and I am going through the comments. What a movie. I’m a sportsman and Roger has taught me many things. What a balanced player. His legacy in the end was a huge success and a beautiful story. Rafa and joker would even get 50 slams but cannot match the elegance of Roger. Cannot match his finesse and cannot match the understanding of the life of tennis; which roger understands. Tennis is a game of sword. The sword game is always won by the peaceful warrior
