You are looking good. Almost ready to do a jig. I guess you are half of the six million dollar man and once you had surgery on your other knee. Then you will be the six million dollar man. You will be better than before. Able to jump higher and run faster than before. Recovery time is slower than before when we were younger. Take your time, before you know it. It will be spring time. I recommend running a return air duct to the cold air inlet on the heater. Much like return air supply on HVAC systems. A carbon monoxide / smoke detector is very affordable and can save a life.
Chicken's laying is very much affected by the length of daylight. So if you put some lights on the ceiling of the coop, and ran it with a timer from say 4 PM to 8 PM, I think they would start laying again.
Happy New Year and thanks for the video. Please be careful on the ice. One slip and your progress on the knee will be lost. Hard to recover from any fall. We know you want to be active and stay busy but do it inside out of harms way. It will be 6 months before your knee muscles are back is my experience. It has taken my hip muscles a full year to recover 100%. Knee and hip replacement joints work from day one, but it is the muscles that take time to recover. Follow your Physical Therapy exercises daily is my advice. They are angels that will get you through this!
Happy New Year! You've sold me on the diesel heater. I thought the installation was easy and the overall price to install and operate seems great. I am curious if it has a thermostat option for situations where you wanted to keep the temperature above freezing (when not in use). I really like the power station and solar element too! The snow/ice looks risky on video, but at 42 degrees it was probably pretty slushy. You are getting around good with the bionic knee on it. Nice to see you are improving. You'll probably master stairs before much longer. God bless.

Hi Ken. I just got my "hot spot" checked out from the library so I can watch videos at my new apartment! I can have it for 2 weeks and turn it in and get on the list to get one again. NO COST TO ME! Love that! Yes, don't slip on your new knee! Good thing you'll get your power supply moved inside where it's warm. Our diesel gels at 14 F degrees! We have to put anti-gel stuff in our heating oil tank. It's so pretty inside the Vardo! It's cold so I'm eating a lot of soup. It's soup season! I know about the stairs with a knee problem. You go up to heaven with the good leg first and down to "the other place" with your bad leg first! That's how the nurses explained it to me so I'd remember which leg to use. The vardo looks cozy before the heat is turned on because of that beautiful paneling. It’s obviously well built. I have to admit to a few seconds of absolute terror when I saw that driveway! If you don’t hear a crunch or splash when you step, tread carefully. I’m glad your chickens are doing well. It’s not unusual to have a slowdown in egg production in the winter. What is the plan to make it easy to fill the Vardo's heater fuel tank? Nice that you can't really hear if the heater is starting or not when you are inside. My chickens have no interest in going outside in the snow. Looks like you have great range of motion in your new knee. Hopefully you'll have plenty of strength in it for stairs when you get the other one knee done later this month.

Chickens dont like getting their feet cold in the snow, plus I have seen them get the bottoms of their feet stuck on ice which can rip the skin off the bottoms of the feet and bleed quite badly.
@@kenskarpentry I got a set back when I was working outside before retirement and they work quite well on glare ice or that heavy crust on top of snow. Mine are on springs that you can stretch over regular work boots. A bit of a cramp to get on but they never fall off. Not sure if you'd be able to use them till you can bend that knee more for getting them on.

It seems like a thermostat would be a good option for it. I don’t have one. I’ve started working on doing stairs. It hurts a little when I do that.
