    Hello Scott !
A few days ago, I started clearing out items that had became unnecessary and old from my parent's house. I want to toss them all because ,as you mentioned in a short video, they are only gathering dust and occupying space . But having seen too much garbage, I found it's impossible to do all things by myself. Then I asked my brother living nearby for help. He said he was busy this week and would let me know his available day for help nearer the time when next week's schedule is fixed. I didn't know that he was such a busy man!.

      Hello there!🍦
That's so great that you could find the opportunity to use 'toss them' in your story. Parents tend to have a lot of rubbish in their houses, especially if they are of a certain generation who want to hold onto everything.
I hope your brother will be able to find some time in his schedule to help with the job, but I guess he'll let you know 'nearer the time.'
This was such an excellent way to practice English using the new language. Well done!!👍🏼

    Another great lesson!👍👍👍👍👍
To be honest, I didn't know this phrase.😅 I think "nearer" is a strange word.😵‍💫 What part of speech is it?🤔 Is it an adjective or an adverb (because an "-er" ending suggests it is a comparative)? Is it a preposition (because it is followed by a noun)?
Leaving that aside, I've learned when and how to use this expression, thanks to this wonderful lesson.☺
Oh, I almost forgot to hand in my homework.😅
"I'll give you further information nearer the time."

      Hello there!☺️
Thanks so much for tuning in. I'm glad you were able to learn something new about the expression 'nearer the time.' It really is very commonly-used and should be a really useful one for you to add to your vocabulary.
In answer to your question, 'What part of speech is it?' It's being used as a comparative adjective - which is basically an adjective with 'er' tagged on at the end.
Your homework sentence was absolutely perfect. That's the exact way I wanted you to use the expression, 'nearer the time.'
      Here's my version:
I'll provide more detailed information nearer the time.
      Have a good one!✌🏻

      Hello there! ☺️
Thanks so much for watching. Ah, yes! The last part of the sentence in Japanese was a bit of a tongue-twister - Oshurase Shinasu..😅
Let's take a look at you homework:
      You version
Please let me imform about your schedule in detail !
① Small typo -imform -> inform
② Inform about -> Inform you about
② You forgot to use 'nearer the time.' If you add it on to the end of the sentence, then that would be great.
      Corrected version
Please let me inform you about your schedule in detail nearer the time.
      My version
I'll provide more detailed information nearer the time.
      Have a lovely day!✨

    Nearer the time,

      @ThatsEnglishSchool  24 дні тому +1

      Hi there! ☺️Thanks for watching.
Yes, it's mainly used for events in the near future. When it's still a little too early to decide things we can just say, 'Let's decide it nearer the time.' It's a super useful and easy phrase that everyone should try to adopt into their conversation.
      Cheers for now!✌🏻

It's funny though, I had to google about TX Avenue as I'd never actually heard about it before. So that's what it's called! I learned something new about the TX today.

Hello, Scott sensei. Thank you for the new lesson. I have long studied English but I haven't noticed this expression😅 Homework: We will let you know the detailed information nearer the time. I tried my pronunciation using a voice recognition app but they missed my pronunciation of' Nearer'. It recognized 'near'. The pronunciation is so hard for me to make others understand.

      Hello there! ☺️
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and could learn something new from it. As I mentioned in the introduction, I was surprised that all 4 of the students in my class had never heard of this pretty basic expression before, so I thought it was time to share how useful it is with everyone on the channel.
I must admit, the pronunciation is kind of tricky. I'd recommend saying it kind of slowly until you get used to it. Really focus on the last 'er' part of 'nearer.' As I said it so many times in the video, I also started to feel the same way - even as a native speaker.
Your homework was very well done! That's exactly how it should be used. Here's my version:
I'll provide more detailed information nearer the time.
I hope you'll have a chance to use it sometime soon.
      Cheers for now!✌🏻

Good morning, Scott. You always nail your video.
The answer is I'll provide more detailed information nearer the time.
I joined a barbecue this month. But I got a message last month. We texted in Japanese. My friend wanted to make sure if I'd join a party.
Friend : It's still a long way off. Do you fancy a barbecue next month?
Me : Sounds good. Works for me so far. But I might be busy. My shift hasn't been decided. It'll be fixed tomorrow. I'll give you my final answer tomorrow. If I say yes, can you provide more detailed information nearer the time?
Friend : OK. I hope you join us. It'll be so fun.
Me : Feel free to ask us for help. You always prepare it by yourself. I think it's our turn to help you. Maybe we can be of any help.

      Good morning, Katsuyoshi!☺️
Thanks so much for your kind words.
Your homework sentence was excellent and that's exactly the way I'd use 'nearer the time. Making plans for the future can be tricky as we don't have all the information yet and some people can't make up their minds.
It's often the case that we have to decide things 'nearer the time,' like when we have a barbecue or some kind of get-together. It's a very useful expression that I hope everyone will try and put to good use.
      Have a good one!✌🏻

    Hey, Scott sensei! 💥
By the way, I've got a message about a party from a strange account on social media in the past, pretty much like this.
"Hey guys a big fat juicy party thats what. We will divulge a little more nearer the time but please get the date in your diary and come celebrate with us. Gunna be big its gunna be hoppy." (a file attached)
Quite a friendly vibe to it. After a lot of deliberation, I texted back like, it’d take me over ten hours by plane to get there, and then they replied, ‘I’ll let you know when we do it in Tokyo.’
Gotta say, I really like such a laid-back Aussie vibe.
    Adios!🦭

      Hi there, EB!🦘
That sounds like the kind of thing an Aussie would come out with. In my experience with Australia, everything is based around 'We'll let you know nearer the time."
This comes down to various reasons, the most prominent being because they can't be bothered to decide anything right now and kind of leave things until the last minute. It could also because they've had a few many schooners or perhaps something a little stronger.
It's best to 'pencil things in' to your diary when you're dealing with the adorable Aussies. Things could go wildly adrift at any point in the proceedings.
      Fair dinkum, mate!🇦🇺

    • @Extraordinary_Bluesky
      @Extraordinary_Bluesky 24 дні тому +1

No doubt about it!😂Everything's just tentative. They think they can get away with anything by just saying 'Aussie time.'
