Owner of the DT770 Pro for over 15 years and absolutely loved the sound stage and quality. Recently they broke so now I'm getting the Pro X LE version and see how that fairs. But kid you not, these are amazing products and will last a very long time as long as you treat them with care.
Did you get them? How do they compare?
I do actually work in Heilbronn, Germany, where Beyerdynamic is situated. I use the regular DT 770 Pro and am very happy with it, the only thing I wished for was a detachable/replaceable cable
So, you'll be upgrading...? 🙂
@@AskDaveTaylor if the old one breaks, yes
@@cacciomanI have bad news for you... They will never break. They are very repairable, and every part can be replaced.
@@BlackSG5 except the cable...
I had the old detachable modded but ordered the X one because I need more volume
I must have good hearing, the day I got these headphones I was blown away, huge upgrade.
It's reasonably priced. I'm a huge fan of Beyerdynamic and their product line. Will be purchasing this. Thanks Dave!
Love the DT 770 pro x. Thanks for the review!
The bag might seem cheap, but the fake suede bag I had with older headphones, it completely bio degraded and crumbled apart
I ended up using this canvas bag for those, since it's still in one solid piece. My stock ear pads have worn out, the vinyl ones. I am sick of vinyl products unless, it's a solid hard vinyl like a record.
1:53 as a newbie, i appreciate that you explain the 6.3mm being called a quarter inch jack. Is there a reason why it's called a quarter inch jack instead of simply 6.3? Initially I assumed people meant the 4.4mm, when they referred to the quarter inch, just because I associated a quarter with the number 4 (as in one fourth)
6.3mm = one quarter inch. Simple as that!
@@tonylowe3130 thanks, it would be less confusing if they just called it 6.3mm. i don't know why we're suddenly talking in inches when it comes to 6.3mm.
Because in the U.S. we call it a 1/5” jack, simple as that. His accent leads to believe he’s in the U.S., and 6.3mm jack won’t mean anything to the average person.
