The Guitarist who switched to the piano, Miyako is a classically trained pianist, started playing guitar at the age of 18, learning how to play from a book. She has fused classical music into heavy metal music and created some of the best songs that the fans all enjoy. She became a great guitarist on top of her piano and composition skills. Not only that, but she has many influences that are almost too many to name, everything from classic 70s groups, to 80s thrash metal bands, Bands like Dream Theater to Polyphia. Guitar greats like Yngwie Malmsteen and Gary Moore, Ritchie Blackmore, Kirk hamlet, Dimebag Darrell just to name a few. Asami the vocalist, grew up learning ballet and studied music, she was a fan of soul and R&B music and decided to attend school in the USA to study jazz & hip-hop dance, while in the USA she sang the National anthem at a baseball game, this event is what inspired her to become a singer, after returning to Japan she began her singing career singing various backing vocals and other various solo performances. Eventually, she tried out for this band as the lead vocalist, She performed the song called "Love bites and so do I" by Halestorm, The band loved her unique powerful voice, and they used the name Love bites from the Halestorm song. I believe asami's vocals are very special, a lot of people will tell you they sound like.. Lovebites is, in my opinion, the best power metal band ever. But they don't just play power metal, they also play a lot of thrash metal as well as traditional heavy metal. They also play a ballad or two. They formed in 2016 and are from Japan. They are one of the rare Japanese bands who sings all of their songs in English. Asami is the lead vocalist. Miyako is the piano/guitar player who also writes a lot of their songs. Midori is the other guitarist. Haruna is the drummer and is one of the best in all of Japan. Fami, the bassist, was only 20 years old at the time this video was made. She had just joined the band a few months before this because the original bass player, Miho, had left. This was Fami's first ever concert as a member of the band. She is a phenom on bass and has her own YT channel with over 700,000 subscribers. Lovebites won the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. Next song should be "Judgement Day" either live or their music video, both are great.

You just watched greatness. These Japanese women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile exceptional musicians. Their live performances are just outstanding. Some people say that they’re angels who came to planet earth in order to save metal. Others say that they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in a little more than seven years. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined the band. Miyako is also a concert level classical pianist, trained since 3 years old. Their main influences are the great metal bands of the past but they have been developing their own and unique style. Miho (exbassist and founder of the band) once said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. Recently they finished their world tour (Europe, Asia and the USA). Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects. Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the bassist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is 'new girl' Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string) The present members are, Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker. Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE. Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcibed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman. Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos. Fami, Bacchus Bass. The 'new girl', recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens. Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. I saw Lovebites live in London recently, and watched Haruna in awe. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed. All members of the band can play piano/keyboards. They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023. Some knowledge of history is required to understand the meaning of the lyrics of this song. In 1831, some officers and citizens rose up against the Polish government, which was under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, in what was known as the 'November Revolution', but failed due to the direct intervention of Russian troops. Chopin received this news during a performance tour. He never set foot on the soil of his homeland again. When the Russians invaded Warsaw, Chopin's representatives presented the Etude OP 10, No. 12 in Paris. Franz Liszt, a friend of Chopin, then named it the 'Revolutionary Etude'. Miyako composed Swan Song based on this 'Revolutionary Etude' and Dvorak's 'New World Symphony'. Asami (vocalist), a former ballerina, wrote the lyrics inspired by Norse mythology and the ballet suite "Swan Lake", based on the historical background of the "Revolutionary Etude". "SwanSong" is a requiem for the warriors who fought to reclaim their homeland, a masterpiece that only Love Bites could complete. Note that the most well-received “Swan Song” of their live performances among fans is the one from 2020 “with Chopin intro” and the least well-received is this one from 2023. This is not because there was anything wrong with their performance, but because of sound quality issues.

Miyako plays piano in some of them (believe it or not, piano is her first instrument and she is self taught on guitar). Many of their live performances are on other channels, but they have a good selection of live videos to start with on their official channel. From those I’d recommend Holy War, Solider Stands Solitarily, Edge of the World, Thunder Vengeance, Hammer of Wrath, We the United. Basically all of them lol. What a great band.

The management has made a crucial mistake: to think, that a newer recording of this piece (with FAMI as bassist), would automatically deliver better results . . .
you should check out "A Frozen Serenade" - it's kind of ballady, but then again not....but it's a masterpiece - It's their "Stairway to heaven". Lovebites is the best metal band in the last 30 years....if you like guitar work like you said you're in for a real treat. They are heavily influenced by the great bands of the 80s and early 90s, influences include Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax....you guess where this is going. Swan Song is one of their tamer songs, actually ;) If you like to listen to them resurrect heavy 80s Thrash Metal, there are a lot of songs to choose from - check "Break the Wall", "Set the World on Fire", "Thunder Vengeance", "M.D.O", "The Hammer of Wrath", "Dissonance" or from their latest EP which came out last month "Where's Identity". They will wreck your neck ;)

The best version is the 2020 with the Chopin intro Revolutionary etude! Then, there is a little wrong on the mix record and the piano volume is too low!
I had to trash the soundengineers after this version. In the 2020 version (sadly not on their channel, but found on a private account, but then also with Chopin intro,) the piano comes in beautifully at the end. Sadly not here, where it's hardly heard before the band stops playing.
This is a bad choice to meet the band for the first time. Even if it is the official version, the mix is terrible, the piano is not heard, and the intro of Miyako is missing. A classic song, but I still prefer the older version with the Chopin introduction. The sound mixing on this version has the piano WAY TOO FAR back in the mix.

If we didn't know that one (and this was your previledge!), this would be a really good video! But then again, take any LOVEBITES song, and you won't be disappointed. right off the bat because they skipped the cool Chopin Intro they did with this song in 2020 with better sound quality on the transfer from guitar solo to piano I'd recommend you check that version too.

The Guitarist who switched to the piano, Miyako is a classically trained pianist, started playing guitar at the age of 18, learning how to play from a book. She has fused classical music into heavy metal music and created some of the best songs that the fans all enjoy. She became a great guitarist on top of her piano and composition skills. Not only that, but she has many influences that are almost too many to name, everything from classic 70s groups, to 80s thrash metal bands, Bands like Dream Theater to Polyphia. Guitar greats like Yngwie Malmsteen and Gary Moore, Ritchie Blackmore, Kirk hamlet, Dimebag Darrell just to name a few.
Asami the vocalist, grew up learning ballet and studied music, she was a fan of soul and R&B music and decided to attend school in the USA to study jazz & hip-hop dance, while in the USA she sang the National anthem at a baseball game, this event is what inspired her to become a singer, after returning to Japan she began her singing career singing various backing vocals and other various solo performances. Eventually, she tried out for this band as the lead vocalist, She performed the song called "Love bites and so do I" by Halestorm, The band loved her unique powerful voice, and they used the name Love bites from the Halestorm song.
I believe asami's vocals are very special, a lot of people will tell you they sound like.. (insert name here) but by this point I am thinking they are her vocals, and she makes a very interesting style of music that makes this band so unique. Check out the song Judgement day.

Lovebites is, in my opinion, the best power metal band ever. But they don't just play power metal, they also play a lot of thrash metal as well as traditional heavy metal. They also play a ballad or two. They formed in 2016 and are from Japan. They are one of the rare Japanese bands who sings all of their songs in English. Asami is the lead vocalist. Miyako is the piano/guitar player who also writes a lot of their songs. Midori is the other guitarist. Haruna is the drummer and is one of the best in all of Japan. Fami, the bassist, was only 20 years old at the time this video was made. She had just joined the band a few months before this because the original bass player, Miho, had left. This was Fami's first ever concert as a member of the band. She is a phenom on bass and has her own YT channel with over 700,000 subscribers. Lovebites won the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. Next song should be "Judgement Day" either live or their music video, both are great.

You just watched greatness. These Japanese women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile exceptional musicians. Their live performances are just outstanding. Some people say that they’re angels who came to planet earth in order to save metal. Others say that they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in a little more than seven years. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined the band. Miyako is also a concert level classical pianist, trained since 3 years old. Their main influences are the great metal bands of the past but they have been developing their own and unique style. Miho (exbassist and founder of the band) once said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. Recently they finished their world tour (Europe, Asia and the USA). In this video Fami is playing the bass. My next recommendations are “Judgement day”, “The hammer of wrath”, “Set the world on fire”, “Thunder vengeance”, “MDO”, “Shadowmaker”, “Break the wall”. Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects.
Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the bassist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is 'new girl' Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string)
The present members are,
Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker.
Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE.
Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcibed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman.
Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos.
Fami, Bacchus Bass. The 'new girl', recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens.
Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. I saw Lovebites live in London recently, and watched Haruna in awe. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed.
All members of the band can play piano/keyboards.
They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023.

Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album both were released in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have already released 4 full length studio albums, 4 EPs, a best of compilation and a bunch of live albums, available on CD/DVD/Blu-ray.
In 2018 LOVEBITES won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
LOVEBITES have toured in Europe back in 2018/2019 and also recently in 2024. This also includes appearances at most European major metal festivals such as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop, Resurrection Fest and Hellfest.
They also played their first US shows this year in September.
In 2021 the band went into a hiatus, because founder and bassist Miho quit the band for personal reasons. During the break also two babies were born. Some knowledge of history is required to understand the meaning of the lyrics of this song.
In 1831, some officers and citizens rose up against the Polish government, which was under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, in what was known as the 'November Revolution', but failed due to the direct intervention of Russian troops. Chopin received this news during a performance tour. He never set foot on the soil of his homeland again. When the Russians invaded Warsaw, Chopin's representatives presented the Etude OP 10, No. 12 in Paris. Franz Liszt, a friend of Chopin, then named it the 'Revolutionary Etude'.
Miyako composed Swan Song based on this 'Revolutionary Etude' and Dvorak's 'New World Symphony'.
Asami (vocalist), a former ballerina, wrote the lyrics inspired by Norse mythology and the ballet suite "Swan Lake", based on the historical background of the "Revolutionary Etude".
"SwanSong" is a requiem for the warriors who fought to reclaim their homeland, a masterpiece that only Love Bites could complete.
Note that the most well-received “Swan Song” of their live performances among fans is the one from 2020 “with Chopin intro” and the least well-received is this one from 2023. This is not because there was anything wrong with their performance, but because of sound quality issues.

@@MissedFlicks they’re so good! They don’t have a bad song. Anything you pick to react to will likely amaze you. They have a range of styles. Miyako plays piano in some of them (believe it or not, piano is her first instrument and she is self taught on guitar). Many of their live performances are on other channels, but they have a good selection of live videos to start with on their official channel. From those I’d recommend Holy War, Solider Stands Solitarily, Edge of the World, Thunder Vengeance, Hammer of Wrath, We the United. Basically all of them lol. What a great band.

you should check out "A Frozen Serenade" - it's kind of ballady, but then again not....but it's a masterpiece - It's their "Stairway to heaven". Lovebites is the best metal band in the last 30 years....if you like guitar work like you said you're in for a real treat. They are heavily influenced by the great bands of the 80s and early 90s, influences include Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax....you guess where this is going. Swan Song is one of their tamer songs, actually ;) If you like to listen to them resurrect heavy 80s Thrash Metal, there are a lot of songs to choose from - check "Break the Wall", "Set the World on Fire", "Thunder Vengeance", "M.D.O", "The Hammer of Wrath", "Dissonance" or from their latest EP which came out last month "Where's Identity". They will wreck your neck ;)

The best version is the 2020 with the Chopin intro Revolutionary etude! Then, there is a little wrong on the mix record and the piano volume is too low!

I had to trash the soundengineers after this version.
In the 2020 version (sadly not on their channel, but found on a private account, but then also with Chopin intro,) the piano comes in beautifully at the end. Sadly not here, where it's hardly heard before the band stops playing.
This is a bad choice to meet the band for the first time. Even if it is the official version, the mix is terrible, the piano is not heard, and the intro of Miyako is missing. The version to see is the live of 2020. Thanks still for reacting to Lovebites.

A classic song, but I still prefer the older version with the Chopin introduction. The sound mixing on this version has the piano WAY TOO FAR back in the mix.

If we didn't know that one (and this was your previledge!), this would be a really good video! But then again, take any LOVEBITES song, and you won't be disappointed. They are all at least great, some of them real masterpieces! No fillers at all...
