Why has El Salvador always been a separate sovereign nation. You look at it on the map it looks like someone took a knife or a large tool and completely carved a large chunk of land in the Pacific side of Honduras and pushed it south a bit. Geographically El Salvador and Honduras should be a single nation. Has Honduras ever laid any land claims to El Salvador.

Flying Nazgûl Real social and political unity in decision making. Central Americans (overall and more likely in the northern triangle) regard one another favorably but we are still foreigners to each other within the nation state structures that do not have enough bargaining power on their own to push for real sweeping changes that are needed. SICA is nice but that’s no replacement for a direct union. Still, I don’t think it will happen anytime soon. There may be “strong unionist people” as you say, but there is also a huge amount of external pressure from foreign actors (China, U.S., etc.) and businesses on the political organisms in these countries to act selfishly and make decisions against the collective good. People have a difficult time trusting their own politicians. They have less of a reason to trust some who they do not consider paisano.
Been there, done that (both LA, and El Salvador, 7 times)...so worth it, love El Salvador, wish I never had to go home every time I come (I'm Canadian, I live in Toronto). Trust me, this country is the best kept secret, and it's not yet over run with tourists, yet!

where all did you go? I'm going in a week
@@Codiggity369 I went to San Salvador, stayed at a Hostel in Zona Rosa which is the nicest area in the city. Escalón is nice as well. Went to Santa Tecla, Merliot and Boquerón national park which is really cool view into the volcano but very small and not a whole day trip. Went La Libertad and the beaches south of there which are some of the best, prettiest and quietest I’ve seen in my life
Yeah el salvador, you the man, best country make us proud!!!
Lol, thanks for creating these awesome videos Geography Now! I enjoyed to know more about my mother's country a lot more with a spin of humor and facts!
I can smell it. My country is getting closer. Ethiopia 😍😍
I can't wait, Ethiopia has such a bright future ahead of it. :)
Bright future? Please tell me more.
I'm excited about that one
I would butcher an explination, so instead I will link you to a reliable source.

The country still has to jump quite a few hurdles, but it seems like the only way is up for Ethiopia.
+Bryce Vickery actually its pretty unstable
I love this video my mother is Central American Salvadorean and my dad is Colombian from Cartagena I live in both country's Central America and Colombia and travel a lot to Belize Honduras Guatemala panama Costa Rica I love it all you should make a CENTRAL AMERICA video as a whole country like it use to be United Provinces of Central America
Mario Garcia ummm you shouldn’t go to the honduras
Mario Garcia That would be pretty cool. It has been a while since the region really identified like that, but I love the idea.
Flying Nazgûl Ey, acordate que lo mismo le dijeron al santísimo. La verdad por veces suena como paja, mijo.
You roots are whose Miss Universe 2017 Candidates are Roommates
As a 100% you nailed it with the video. Super accurate description. Thank you!!!
Love from INDIA 🇮🇳 💖💐🙏
When El Salvador is so small you can actually point out the roads and see your town :') ... miss it every day.
I had a Salvadoran friend in high school who used to have me over at lunchtime for pupusas it was the best. I miss them
"A volcano erupting? Meh, must be a Friday."
Been there, done that (both LA, and El Salvador, 7 times)...so worth it, love El Salvador, wish I never had to go home every time I come (I'm Canadian, I live in Toronto). Trust me, this country is the best kept secret, and it's not yet over run with tourists, yet!
I’m half Salvadoran from my mum’s side and I was born and raised in Australia. I don’t know much about this side of my family unfortunately or the culture so it feels so good learning new things about the country and where my family has come from :)
And I bet your family from your mom side will be very glad to meet you
I actually managed to visit el salvador a week after my 18th birthday. It's an amazing place
The relationship between Guatemala and El Salvador is true I'm a Guatemalan myself and most of my friends are from El Salvador
I’m also a Chapin and I love them to death. They’re probably tougher than we are. 😅 we’re both survivors & I can’t imagine not having them around. Here in the U.S. we are very good friends too
God! This video can't be more accurate! Thanks for getting all info right. I am Salvadoran and have lived here pretty much all my life.
Thumbs up!
(The town ilobasco* should be spelled with i instead of with L)
Saludos desde El Salvador! this was really special :) thank you for showing not just the bad things, but a little glimpse of everything this country has to offer :) I would love to see a video about the best places to visit. My favorite places here are la playa "Costa del Sol" ,and "El Refugio" wich is a park near El Pital mountain with little cabins in the woods! . My favorite pueblito es "Ataco" they have great coffee plantations ;) anyways, I'm intrigued now, to know about other countries, you have one more subscriber! un abrazo!

El Salvador = badass
No offense, but not caring about the gangs and natural disasters is common even in Guatemala (not so much with the rich though). So the correct answer is Central America = Badass
heck yeah you are right!
you right, All of central america is badass.. but among the bad asses.. El Salvador may be the baddest lol... I am salvadoraIAN though, mostly (my mom is honduran/salvadorIAN and my pop is 100% SalvadorIAn).. just messing with ya! peace and love Cental America!
