This scene is where Frieren told Aura to kill herself.

One of the absolute coldest kills I've ever seen. Went beyond using an opponent's strengths against them to making then actualIy take their own life. I loved this anime.
Stone cold, Frieren didn't even spare a look back to watch Aura die as she walked away.
@@philledwith8307That's not what scared me; it's the eyes still seeing as the head fell to the ground...
If she hadn't before then, she definitely resolved to destroy Aura at around 0:42 when she saw the soldier's necklace and realized whose body that was.
I almost thought it was cruel until I realized that aura did that to all of the beheaded soldiers in her army. That's why their bodies are not too damaged, but their heads are completely missing.
This scene was the moment when this show went from “great” to “masterpiece”. Just brilliant.
And for me, it was when Fern was walking in slow motion while Zoltraak was playing. I got goosebumps remembering that moment.
The catharsis of the moment was just... I need a cigarette after that.
You know, this is one of the darkest scenes I’ve ever watched in anime. I think the impact is all the more because this show so often feels light hearted.
it's a light hearted show, that has like, the darkest background ever. like yes, dainty elf girl who acts childlike and needs a human to function. but also: Genocide of the Elves. This entire arc. The fact that Frieren could probably kill every single person they've met so far, outside of maybe the old elf lady. Demons in general
Not dark at all, but def. one of the darkest of this anime
Really? Then you haven’t watched enough anime
Now watch the scene with Guts and Adonis from Berserk 1997
Elfen lied, Claymore and Evangelion are pretty dark
I love demons in this anime, often I see ones where enemies have relatability and so on, or specifically demons are not so different from humans and so on. It's just refreshing to get a type of demon that is actually what they say it is in the anime. It is not a person, it does not feel as we do, it learnt language and mimics people only as a means to fool, and manipulate it's prey, they don't have family, they don't have friends, they are not mindless, they simply are incapable of feeling emotion, and without that, are incapable of sympathy for anything, even their own race. Even the one singular demon in the series who earnestly tried to learn emotions and understand them, merely scoffs about how he and his own race are truly monsters and incapable of it all at the moment of his death, even thinking his own time among humans attempting to learn was a waste in the end.
True. And we got cringe twitter bots calling it racist that demons are depicted as “horrible people”. Like the point of the demons in this show is that they don’t think like us. They might as well be aliens in behavior and views. The only reason people are salty is because the demons look like humans. If they looked like dudes straight out of Doom, there would be a significantly less amount of outrage.
I wonder if there is a sustainable way that demons, and humans can coexist without being hostile to each other. In the story, the closest thing is demon king, and Macht. But both of them seems to spiral out into war for demon king, and golden city for Macht. We don't know the motivation behind demon king, but we do know for Macht. He is driven by curiosity, and ended up following human orders just to learn about them. But after everything he experience, he still failed to understand empathy
We do know that demon do have emotion (mainly fear), but they failed to extend / project their own feeling to others. They acted on a principle based on solo survival, but not as a group. They only huddle together if their goal is aligned, and will ditch their comrade if need be. Frieren think that coexisting is impossible, and all demons must be eradicated. But is that true?
I can draw some similarity between demons, and humans to a dazzle of zebras, and a herd of horses. Horse have sense of hierarchy, and will follows their herd leader. So if human captured the leader, their herd will follows. This is not the case for zebras, where if human were to captured a zebra. Likely none of the dazzle will follows. This is the reason why horse can be domesticated (tamed, and integrated into human society), but zebras cannot. However, like zebras in a zoo, it can be tamed but only at individual level. So in this case Macht is like a tamed zebra, and there maybe a way to coexist peacefully, albeit it may only be applicable to a small sub-population
@@thipoktham5164Found the demon!
I love how gentle that spell Frieren used to dispel the soldiers looked, she really took Himmel's words to heart
Greatest trick of all time is to fool your enemies by concealing your hidden power for thousand years without revealing or not letting them know how powerful you are
Helps when you've acted like an idiot well before the 'Prelude story" even takes place.
To do her dirty by turning not only her own trump card, but her own body against her. Only to not even dignify it with killing Aura with her own hands, and even turning her back after commanding Aura to off herself.
That's cold
Got to love Karma when the main character uses a villains own Ego against them
Aura gambled her soul thinking she is weak and lost
Frieren really said ky and walked away, what a savage.
1:18 wrong move aura, don't pull himmel card on Frieren
She pushed the Himmel Button. She shouldn'ta done that.
This kill seems much darker due to the fact that aura looks like a little girl. But gotta remember shes a demon and does not have human emotions.
Sure she does. She obviously felt fear as she took her own life.
@@garnorix fear is not a human emotion. All creatures feel fear it's a survival mechanism.
@garnorix Aura feels fear of death sure, because she doesn't wish to die, but she feels no empathy. It's like a lion fearing fire and avoiding it to keep from feeling pain.
@@garnorixdude even the smell of cut grass is plants screaming in their own way. Fear and not wanting to die is no where near uniquely human.
What emotions are uniquely human?
This was the epitome of "You fool, you have no idea what you're up against" and "Oh...Well, actually, it's YOU who have no idea what youre up against"
That exact scene is what killed bleach for me many years ago. But this show sets it up beautifully, you're not blindsided by it. It doesnt feel like a stupid cop out you know its coming for at least a full episode and you just cant wait for it to finally happen.
This anime single handedly revived a dying genre of anime
One of two of my most anticipated scenes in the entire manga after I heard the manga was being adapted. MADHOUSE nailed it
Ah yes when ainz removed his mana concealment ring 💍
"Aura, kys. GG no re"
Best exit
I'm going to declare a headcanon that those scales have both a line-of-sight requirement and a cooldown. Because if they didn't, in the 80 years that Frieren was leaving Aura alone, she could have taken the entire north. There has to be a limitation of those since no one else has the mana to stop it.
Serie could have
@@jimmychase8494 It feels odd to me that someone as aggressive as Serie didn't seek out demons to fight.
@@philledwith8307 yes it does, maybe because they see her as a goddess and humans as weak she doesn't bother after the death of the demon king and only was involved on behalf of the elves idk
Could also be that the scale prevents you from using any magic for a period of time or something and that was why she drew a sword to use. And if she uses it in a group setting, she'd be able to control one person but then others could easily kill her cause she couldn't use any more magic. All head canon/speculation of course.
Himmel existed. That's actually all the head canon you need lol. Even in his old age he was still so HIM that demons ran away.
500 year old teenager still be too impetuous. Wrong move😅
And here I thought the teacher in Another killing himself in front of his class was dark.....Frieren telling Aura to kill herself then just walking away was DARK A.F.!!!
"I've taken lives. I got worse. I got clever. Manipulated people into taking their own."
A masterpiece
The secret to win a fight vs demons.
Don't lose your head 😊
Frieran fight while concealing her mana. Amazingggg
Youth and exuberance is nothing against old age and treachery, this whole eps in a nutshell
I have come to believe that Frieren is Darth Myne's great ancestor.
I knew this was going to happen. I knew she was going to show her true mana and she defeat Aura, but that didn't make it any less awesome when she did. Epic scene!
*N O W*
That was literally cold blooded lmao omg... "Yeah, nice... but I'm another 500 years past you in power and experience. Just go {censored}, ok?"
Aura never thinks of the counter of that magic, unlike Ainz, he will never be trapped in that situation.
if you're going to add terrible cuts, just delete your channel now. it doesn't help prevent strikes. you just destroy the scene
Since the demons love using their power to control the weak, they take immense and extreme pleasure in humiliating the weak but hate being humiliated themselves so for someone like Aura who uses a spell to control people to get turned against her and have kill her is basically one of the biggest humiliations by demon logic.
Frieren said: "k"
im surprise frieren give aura chance two get away and she denied it twice...lol
that string guy didnt even get to talk..
Why is half of it cut out!?
Probably to dodge being copyright claimed.
Sometimes it's not the video itself but the music that gets caught by content ID. And so you gotta do dumb cuts to get around that. Or something to that effect.
Omg. I must watch 😮😮😮😮😮😮
This is just my opinion, but Aura’s look of fear was portrayed much better in the anime than the manga.
and this was the day she got perma banned on league
1:48 get that sexy pronunciation boys.
No mercy for the arrogant.
Knowing key sentences were cut from this meeting, makes this edit trash.
Always do demons dirty, this is the way of Frieren
Guys
Is this a dub or sub anime?
I've watched it in both, and it's good for either. I guess the main preference is whether you prefer Frieren sounding young or mature
@@CrownofMischief i see
Thank you.
この作画の面白いところはアウラが自らの首を刎ねた後もアウラ目線になっているところです。
Eh, should have kept her as a eternal slave to open her Mimic Chests with. That was the stakes of the duel of souls, and being fed to hundreds of Mimic Chests over and over per year for centuries would be fitting. Way better than the easy death she got here.
It’s not Frieren’s full blown mana
How do You know ? You can spoil
@@marcinkochan441 go watch it yourself instead of asking for spoilers in comment section
@@marcinkochan441 She can't unleash her full power because the demons will recognize her. After the battle with Aura, it was mentioned that other demons investigated the residual mana Frieren used during that fight.
@@JaysonandFriends thanks, I’m not sure if I miss that information, it was missed in anime or missed in translation because I don’t remember it

フリーレンのめっちゃ大事なセリフをちゃんと入れないとね…。
The editing is giving me an aneurysm
Editing is so bad. It always cuts at the most important message.
So basically Frieren is Saitama.
They are only 2 kill that I Felt badasses in anime this is one of them.
The other is Kira izuru in bleach...
No mercy, no bargain... just a clear end. To me it, feel more impactful than anything when it come to the death of any character
