Immortal demon Bose, Aura Guillotine, Grausam the Miraculous and Macht of Golden Land all have heavy CC spells but they couldn't hold back the humanity greatest hero.
@@thewatcher62 real. tbf, we don't know what the fight looked like and it appears that the southern hero and the omniscient demon might've been planning something even together, but to think he walked into that fight and somehow didn't die instantly.
i mean, i want to think that maybe he had A TON of special items (armor, weapons, sigils, enchanted gear) that was just a direct counter to a lot of demon powers, theres no way he had huge mana pool like frier but maybe he had a miror that let him "miror" someones mana amount in the case it was a check for some overpower hability.... Rivale is a wild card and really hard to rank due to him and Linie being the only demon warriors we have seen so far while the other demons were all mages. It's suggested that he is one of the oldest living demons despite being someone who risks his own life in every given opportunity which makes him really scary.

But y frieren seems expecialy bad against him she is a slowpoke that is good in analyzing and countering enemy magic which is very useless against Rivale. Fern would have a better chance ironically.
Completing every available sidequest and 100%ing every dungeon is probably the only reason the party could take on the Demon King under any circumstances. I think the Demon King was the legit main boss, but as in a lot of jrpg's there might be a hidden/true boss.
There's a chapter in the manga, an exchange between Frieren trio and a warrior, the latter said "You're finally going to defeat the Demon King?" or something like that. Frieren only reacted subtly but that part make it seem like that the Demon King never really died. Demons having a seer and a vast amount of knowledge about time, they must have done something

The german umlaut which is the two dots above a o and u can be spelled out in english by adding an e after the letter for example: ä becomes ae, ö become oe, and ü becomes ue. Ä is pronounced like an e, ö like a u, and ü like oo. And yes the characters’ names are german words for those wondering, frieren means freezing, himmel mean heaven, übel means evil etc. The pronunciation of ie and ei in german are also different for ei it’s pronounce like I in I am, while ie is pronounced like ee.
Don't agree with solitar's and macht's placements. For ME, it would be reversed. As you said, she had the capabilities to decipher Diagoldze. She had similar capabilities to frieren on magic knowledge and the science behind magic. But Frieren needed the memories of a century from Macht to decipher Diagoldze. Its was not on a whim. Frieren had to relieve Macht using the spell again and again for a very long time and had previous knowledge of the spell, as she had her hand turned into gold a couple of centuries ago and took a century to turn it back to normal. She needed both of these to decipher the trump card of macht.

dude has future visions as his divine blessing. basically he has a sharingan in steroid. you dont need to level up magic skills when you can avoid every single attack. he only needs to level up his fighting skill and defense prowess. there is no way those powerful demons especially mages can strike an attack on him. the only opponent for him is someone who has the same ability a.k.a schlat.

Generally speaking, Macht and Solitar are on the same level of power, with Macht possibly being slightly stronger because Diagoldze is an extremely overpowered curse and Macht has ways of using it that doesn't rely on simply cursing the target into gold.

I feel like the demon king let himself die. After centuries (millennia?) of existence, he either learned what he wished about humans or that he never would and so saw no reason to continue
I'm gonna go on a slightly different tangent and say the Demon King let himself lose to the party based on what Schlacht saw a thousand years into the future, as it pertains to Demon kind's fate. Whether that means he resurrects himself, has time magic, or simply did let himself get killed for the greater good of his species remains to be seen.

It's not true that demons are emotionless. As Flamme stated, they definitely feel pride and lust for power. I'd say also fear, at least the fear of death. Probably also curiosity like Aura when asking Frieren why she wasted mana to unbind Aura's soldiers instead of just destroying them. Or Linie asking Stark why is he continuing to stand up and fight instead of laying down and trying to save his lie.

This is gonna be a long-ass comment, but I'm sorry in advance. It's just that I happen to really adore how the author presented demons in Frieren and thus feel strongly about it. The direct rebuttal to your opinion has been stated in the video (and the manga/show itself) multiple times. You're confusing instincts with emotions. It has been pointed out a bunch of times in Frieren that demons don't operate like humans. Pretty early on, as Flamme theorized, demon behavior is fundamentally different from humans'. Your interpretation of fear, pride, and lust are already human-centric, and while sure, it definitely makes sense from a human perspective---it's simply not the same with demons in Frieren. Fear of Death: Even species considered literally "emotionless" e.g. plants or bacteria, etc. have mechanisms for self-preservation. These species react to threats akin to fear, but is more about survival instinct rather than what you point out as an emotion. All demons' deaths so far, or their prevention of it, has simply been a biological drive rather than intrinsic emotion. To put it simpler, all living things are programmed to survive, emotions aren't a prerequisite for it. Pride and Lust for Power: It's been stated pretty early on that such characteristics in demons aren't tied with humans viewpoint of pride and lust. In our case, it is deeply tied to self-awareness, ego and social interaction. For demons, it's purely due to their hierarchical instincts, dominance or their natural drive to control. It is in their nature, and tying it to "emotions" is just inaccurate. Moreover, curiosity isn't an emotion. Even in humans, it is simply a cognitive drive or a mental state. Any being with the capability to think has it. Several demons---such as Macht, Solitar, the demons you mentioned and even the demon king---all displayed extreme levels of curiosity, but what they all proved by the end of their lives is that their curiosity never extended to anything more than just that. And it's precisely because they're incapable of emotions. However, there are cases that make for a convincing argument that demons do have emotions, on top of my mind is when Luger got visibly furious when he found out Fern was hiding her mana. That can easily appear as an emotional response. But conversely, much like in animals, even anger can simply be a direct response to a threat or mechanism. Meaning it still shouldn't be equated to what we view as "emotions" since demons intrinsically lack the depth for it. At the end of the day, I don't think demons in Frieren having "emotions" would be logical. If they had that, the story wouldn't have progressed the way it did. Nor would they act in ways they do. We could argue that demons are really just malevolent versions of elves, meaning that their emotions manifest in different ways due to their long life spans, but how elves are potrayed in the show already disproves this. At this point, it's really just a matter of their nature, and so far, part of demons' established nature is being "emotionless."

Those are base emotions that all complex animals can feel. Now pride and lust for power; those are more complex. But we see from the Flamme flashback that Demons do have pride. Though it is likely born from their Pecking Order instincts, they do have a sense of pride surrounding mana. And Ludger’s frustration and hatred was a reaction to being deceived; he was already dying, but the idea that the battle was unfair got to him. What I’m saying here is basically that the story wants demons to be nuanced, to a point. They can have emotions, desires, even complex relationships and principles. But they cannot escape the simple truth that they are beings of deceit who endeavor to kill humans

I think I will place Macht above Solitar because Macht win with hax, also I think power scaling in Frieren is like Rock Paper Scissors, it's really heavy on situation and which opponent character compared to, for example we know from manga there Macht really bad at mental magic that's make Grausam win the advantage against Macht (when Schlacht Force Macht to join against Hero of South) and against Edel mind reading that makes his downfall, and Macht is really strong at close and distance fighting style. and I think Solitar can't escape the effect of the Algoze and why Solitar doesn't turn into gold is because they already make teams up so Solitar isn't immune to the Algoze, Also correct me if I was wrong 👋
I'd put March above Schlacht, it seems he brought at least two other sages of destruction with him, one of them being a direct counter to March to make sure he didn't try to resist.
I've enjoyed the series (overwhelmingly), and there are plenty of amazing fights/choreography to boot.... but man, Lugner's fight was my favorite. I believe it had to do not only with the dialogue (amazing), but also the animation and visualization of his specific magic.

Graumsam, i could see why. But why do u think solitar is alive? Didn't she die literally in front of frieren? Also, maybe the hero of the south could still be alive. They wiped off the memories of the battle from macht's memories. Why would they need that if it wouldn't change anything for them, since theoretically all sages of destruction are all dead(only grausam is teased to be alive, since he can make illusions and stuff and could change his face and appearence). Maybe yhe hero of the south is just frozen from diagoldze or something similar.

As you can see here like Frieren she lives longer and you get more powerful because of mana. so in my conclusion if 1 of the elves practice so well like serei they would get wipe out easily so that's why they wipe all elves because they are big threat? btw it was my theory only since you know elves can live longer so they could become powerful like Frieren.
macht is like the one dude with a nuclear bomb. No matter how muddy the battlefield is, if there is a nuclear bomb, everything will become useless. Tbh, he's a hax unbeatable char except with illusion magic (sage level). Even if solitar capable of human thinking, i dont think macht is going to lose. Tod was the mystery to me in this ranking since she implied that she's inevitable a 100 years from the time travel(when the demon king was still alive) arc then to the current timeline. We know that it's 80 years since Himmel's death.

I wouldn't say Schlacht was necessarily weaker than the sages in a fight, he was strong enough to threaten Macht even before he revealed that he had Grausam as backup. And Macht is one of the strongest sages.

So it doesn't stay a slice of life series then. That gets me hyped for the later seasons. I was finally able to get around to watching Frieren, and while the slice of life part is wholesome and good i love the action and villains. So its good to see those won't get dull anytime soon.
People saying Macht is stronger than Solitar are both right and wrong. Yes, Macht is superior due to his hax but at the same time, he isn’t because Solitar has better offensive spells. Solitar clearly was the superior mage, she taught Macht human magic, she destroyed the barrier that imprisoned him for 50 years and just downright have better combat spells. However, Solitar is not immune to Di Algoze and she also doesn’t have any counter to it thus she would lose in a fight. But point is, without Macht’s hax, Solitar would mop the floor with him. That is why she was ranked higher. They also have the same mana output so basically they are equal, but the mage with greater knowledge and spells will always win.
Macht is my favourite demon tbh and kinda gets hard done by, Frieren can only beat him because she spent literally 600 years and using his own memories to analyse his curse, and serie just happens to have the nuh uh, magic from basically before human magic and it's basically unlearnable in most humans lifetimes.

More than remarkable it comes with age, a demon who live for centuries gains the title but obviously a demon who live so much it's strong, how many centuries? I think 3 and above, Lugner at most have 2 and linie and draht hardly 80 years.
Well i have theory that was not a real Soliter. As we know Soliter, try to avoid challenge against strong opponents, but her original goal was to come and kill Macht (she did not know about Frieren and her group back then) This act sound to bold for Soliter (Macht is not a punching bag and at very least he is on same lvl with Soliter). To much of the risk for Soliter if she did not hide a trick in her sleeve As we know, Soliter have very deep knowledge about humanity magic (at least on Frieren lvl). What if she use Land cloning magic (with strengh equal to original and remote control) in order to face against Macht? This is possible and it suit Soliter personality - even if her clone fail her fight against Macht - Real Soliter still would be in safety
We don't know that. She originally came to El Dorado in order to kill Macht. And she's both very analytical and a self-proclaimed coward. She wouldn't have embarked on that mission in the first place unless she thought she has something with better than even odds of getting her past Di Agolze.

I do know that many people think one is stronger from the most OP power couple, but they are equals and can change depending on the scenario of a fight. As both are all rounders with specializations on specific fields of fighting. Solitar is the most adaptive demon once she experiences it first hand she gains answer to said magic and is generally good with every magic despite her mastery of Mana control. Macht favors cqc the most and can change fighting styles easily. He is as versatile as Solitar but focus mostly on his direct combat prowess.
Qual over Aura is a hot take. Aura could literally make him her slave and if Himmel did not interrupt Aura's magic, could have been a fatal blow to the Hero Party as all four were needed to defeat the Demon King. Just because Aura's power is more strategic doesn't make her weaker than a more direct attacker. There is a reason why she out ranked him in the Demon Army. She simply had a bad matchup to Frieren who both is one of the few characters who has more mana and who is the most proficient at hiding it which even a couple hundred years of suppression training would not have been enough otherwise. Also, keep in mind, Aura waged war for multiple decades in modern human society without anyone being able to pin her down and best her until Frieren intervened and we know that humans were aware of this as Ubel even commented on it as common knowledge later. Frieren even states that if Aura had fought her normally, that she would have had trouble defeating her. The same cannot be said of Qual who lost with little to no effort. Hard disagree.
Qual was not "no effort", Frieren had another mage go pure defense so she had time to cast her spell. Edit: To add, we even see a bit of training Frieren put that mage thru to be ready for that fight. It was far from no effort.

Zart is a normal german word, it means gentle, delicate or tender. I would say the name comes from Zart avoiding direct combat and trying to avoid any direct attacks as much as possible with his teleportation ability.
I really think something will happen, and schlacht wanting frieren to not see the fight trough matcht of el dorado memories, indicates something was done by him that no mage should see because it will have consecuences in the future, also the demon king killing all elves and sending so many strong demons after frieren, probably indicates that frieren or an elf will ruin their plans in the future (this can probably be the demon king death tho), i think something incredible is about to happen in frieren, and that it aims to be a very long story (wich i hope it is).
If I were a demon I would not try to confront any human at all I them threat to my own existence. I would try to understand the fundamental and complexities of magic and think outside the box of thinking for a average demon. I would stack knowledge and experience and loots. I would first try to find the secret of immortality and defensive techniques while boosting my offense and my physical strength. try develop abilities so I would be versatile in combat and evolve much powerful. I would live for eons so my own dreams come to dark reality.

I want to hear how you think each Demon will handle a 1v1 fight scenario against Asta. There are many things to take into consideration like Asta having 0 mana, his ki detection skill, and having multiple anti magic swords with different abilities. I’m really hoping that maybe one day you can actually do this video since I’m really curious on if there are certain demons who can stalemate or actually kill Asta.
Tbf asta would beat the ever living shit out of all of them as his anti magic basically makes them all useless and his planetary scaling would wipe every demon in combat. If you want the demons to have a chance, first remove asta anti magic and somehow lowball asta to city level

Macht and Solitar should be reversed Also I kinda disagree with Rivale's placement as well, seeing how he is one of the oldest known demons (he calls himself senile, making him older than other Great Demons we know of like Solitar), and to survive this long a demon must be really strong. Though I can't really blame you since it's hard to rank him due to him appearing in a single arc as of now, hopefully we will get more of him and he may turn out to be stronger than some demons you placed higher. :]
Solitäir was able to "press" Frieren? Why not say the what truly happened? She beat Frieren fair and square just after beating Stark & Fern with ease at the same time. Frieren admitted she needed Fern to fight alongside her, otherwise she wouldn't be able to beat Solitäir, ant that's exactly what happened, Fern shows up and attacks Solitäir by suprise, saving Frieren.
Brother, Frieren was literally analysing macht diagoldz spell during their entire fight solitaire stated that frieren in holding back her mana and after frieren turns the city of wiese back to normal solitair herself stated that whg would she do something like analysing a spell that would obviously affect the outcome of a fight.Solitair didn't win against her lol more like stood on equal footing after frieren copied her spell.

Frieren was only holding back her mana initially, later she releases it when Solitär tells her she killed Stark and Fern. Frieren gives her all and still is unable to beat Solitär who had already beaten Fern and Stark, taking an injury to her shoulder. Frieren then straight up admits on her head that she can't beat Solitär 1v1 and needs Fern. Even after copying Solitär's spell, Frieren still couldn't win because Solitär had an amazing shield.

I wouldn't put Solitar above Macht. During the start of El Dorado arc, Frieren downright said that they won't assist fighting Macht. Collaboration of multiple high-class mages just to extract every little things to know about Macht's curse. Sacrifices were made and great amount of time to let Frieren decipher the curse. Yes, Solitar is very strong, but Macht's diagolze is just pure cheating. Not to mention, Frieren is fighting Solitar she just met moments ago while deciphering diagolze.
Why has nobody considered the fact that the hero's party managed to kill the demon king but they couldn't kill Quall and had to resort to sealing him. It took him mere seconds to decipher the new defensive magic that was used against him and immediately figure out how to counter it. Imagine if he had the hundreds of years the other demons had to perfect his spells. To rank him so low is inaccurate.
We still don't know how the Hero Party defeated the Demon King. Honestly, there's even theories out there that the Hero Party didn't kill the Demon King; leading to the possibility they did have to seal him or some other roundabout way. I wouldn't use that as a way to justify another demons strength, as it's stated multiple times that there was no demon stronger than the Demon King. (They wouldn't have followed him otherwise.) Qual's insane potential is something I discuss in the video, but the truth is, while alive, Qual didn't even qualify for being one of the seven sages. I can only rank Qual off of what he has shown and done. It's not really accurate to rank him off a possibility that if Qual lived longer, he would've been stronger.

Furthermore it should be noted that he was only defeated because the hero’s party bought time for humanity, through the united efforts of many mages including Fieren and over decades to reverse engineer and develop countermeasures for his spell, a countermeasure which he figured out how to overcome on the spot. He was even killed by his own spell, Zoltraak, which had become the very basis of the modern magic system. No other demon’s magic has that accolade. Basically he invented the rifle when people were still using bows, and when people took decades to develop kevlar he immediately figured how to overcome it as well. No other demon has demonstrated such a flair for magic. Since he was killed by his own spell which was only possible because humanity had time to repurpose it and he was sealed the whole time unaware of the fact and unable to respond to their counter, the short battle in which he died is not a fair assessment of his combat skills. The true assessment should be based on his first battle with the Hero’s party when the human version of Zoltraak didn’t even exist, and we know from that battle Fieren’s entire party could not defeat him. Therefore it should be asked, which demon in the story is Fieren’s entire party unable to defeat. I doubt any of the Sages can claim that. “Qual didn't even qualify for being one of the seven sages” Sages are just the demon king’s generals, there is no indication that there are no stronger demons outside that group, in fact Schlacht who leads them is not a sage himself, and there are other greater demons comparable in strength as well such as Solitar.

Demons like Rivale or Tot aren't anywhere near as powerful in a fight as Solitar; and there's no indication that there are more like her at that level. Could there be? Sure. Your whole entire argument IS his potential. You're saying he should be able to surpass the Sages if he had enough time after being unsealed to do so, but this never happens. I discuss his quick adaptation in the video, it's not overlooked. The 7 Sages are in fact the Strongest Demons under the Demon King. Demons only respect hierarchies based on strength, it's coded into their genetics. Solitar is an EXTREME anomaly due to her unique curiosity and fascination with the human race, almost rejecting the Demon King's army entirely. She instead is considered a great friend to him and is called when needed, but chooses research over battle. Solitar is 1 of 1, and not many other demons are as layered besides Macht or the Demon King himself. This is stated and canon. You literally ignored or missed my whole point on Aura. She also survived her encounter with the Hero party lol. But to be honest, the power system works in such a way people may beat others through wit and strategy, rather than strength. Just because the party beat a demon one way, it does not mean they could beat another demon with the same method; even if that demon was weaker. It depends completely on their magic.

I don't understand demons being all destructive evils. Considering real world humans with their condition exist and by the vast majority do not act like animals. Most people without empathy actually hide it extremely well. It's the extreme minority who lash out or create a self destructive environment. Even if for no other reason than survival, they usually behave.
Because demons are pretty much evolved monsters in this series, they dont think or empathize the way humans do and cant really be judged by the same standards. It's like trying to get a wild animal to understand a conversation.
Please do not compare demons to people with developmental conditions, it is very obviously not comparable. For one such humans are not immediately destinct with horns, they have to live in society and not in a parallel one of their own kind, they are not compelled to eat human meat and they are not far more powerful and longlived than normal humans. Also contrary to Hollywood betrayals people with strong antisocial conditions tend to be of below average intelligence and success, often impulsive and prone to violence, they actually are not Hannibal Lectors fitting smoothly into society and even then having no empathy on the level of demon would be a rare, extraordinary case.

Rivale is a wild card and really hard to rank due to him and Linie being the only demon warriors we have seen so far while the other demons were all mages. It's suggested that he is one of the oldest living demons despite being someone who risks his own life in every given opportunity which makes him really scary.

Completing every available sidequest and 100%ing every dungeon is probably the only reason the party could take on the Demon King under any circumstances. I think the Demon King was the legit main boss, but as in a lot of jrpg's there might be a hidden/true boss.

There's a chapter in the manga, an exchange between Frieren trio and a warrior, the latter said "You're finally going to defeat the Demon King?" or something like that. Frieren only reacted subtly but that part make it seem like that the Demon King never really died.

The german umlaut which is the two dots above a o and u can be spelled out in english by adding an e after the letter for example: ä becomes ae, ö become oe, and ü becomes ue. Ä is pronounced like an e, ö like a u, and ü like oo. And yes the characters’ names are german words for those wondering, frieren means freezing, himmel mean heaven, übel means evil etc.
The pronunciation of ie and ei in german are also different for ei it’s pronounce like I in I am, while ie is pronounced like ee.

Don't agree with solitar's and macht's placements. For ME, it would be reversed. As you said, she had the capabilities to decipher Diagoldze. She had similar capabilities to frieren on magic knowledge and the science behind magic. But Frieren needed the memories of a century from Macht to decipher Diagoldze. Its was not on a whim. Frieren had to relieve Macht using the spell again and again for a very long time and had previous knowledge of the spell, as she had her hand turned into gold a couple of centuries ago and took a century to turn it back to normal. She needed both of these to decipher the trump card of macht.
If you think Macht is stronger than Solitar, why are you arguing for why Solitar is so strong?

Solitar and Macht should be swapped, as Solitar even directly acknowledges that she initially broke the barrier around El Dorado and approached Macht with the intent to kill him as his desire for coexistence was too dangerous, but that in the end chose to not to because she wasn't confident she could actually win.

Generally speaking, Macht and Solitar are on the same level of power, with Macht possibly being slightly stronger because Diagoldze is an extremely overpowered curse and Macht has ways of using it that doesn't rely on simply cursing the target into gold.

I'm gonna go on a slightly different tangent and say the Demon King let himself lose to the party based on what Schlacht saw a thousand years into the future, as it pertains to Demon kind's fate. Whether that means he resurrects himself, has time magic, or simply did let himself get killed for the greater good of his species remains to be seen.

It's not true that demons are emotionless. As Flamme stated, they definitely feel pride and lust for power. I'd say also fear, at least the fear of death. Probably also curiosity like Aura when asking Frieren why she wasted mana to unbind Aura's soldiers instead of just destroying them. Or Linie asking Stark why is he continuing to stand up and fight instead of laying down and trying to save his lie.

This is gonna be a long-ass comment, but I'm sorry in advance. It's just that I happen to really adore how the author presented demons in Frieren and thus feel strongly about it.
The direct rebuttal to your opinion has been stated in the video (and the manga/show itself) multiple times. You're confusing instincts with emotions. It has been pointed out a bunch of times in Frieren that demons don't operate like humans. Pretty early on, as Flamme theorized, demon behavior is fundamentally different from humans'.
Your interpretation of fear, pride, and lust are already human-centric, and while sure, it definitely makes sense from a human perspective---it's simply not the same with demons in Frieren.
Fear of Death: Even species considered literally "emotionless" e.g. plants or bacteria, etc. have mechanisms for self-preservation. These species react to threats akin to fear, but is more about survival instinct rather than what you point out as an emotion. All demons' deaths so far, or their prevention of it, has simply been a biological drive rather than intrinsic emotion. To put it simpler, all living things are programmed to survive, emotions aren't a prerequisite for it.
Pride and Lust for Power: It's been stated pretty early on that such characteristics in demons aren't tied with humans viewpoint of pride and lust. In our case, it is deeply tied to self-awareness, ego and social interaction. For demons, it's purely due to their hierarchical instincts, dominance or their natural drive to control. It is in their nature, and tying it to "emotions" is just inaccurate.
Moreover, curiosity isn't an emotion. Even in humans, it is simply a cognitive drive or a mental state. Any being with the capability to think has it. Several demons---such as Macht, Solitar, the demons you mentioned and even the demon king---all displayed extreme levels of curiosity, but what they all proved by the end of their lives is that their curiosity never extended to anything more than just that. And it's precisely because they're incapable of emotions.
However, there are cases that make for a convincing argument that demons do have emotions, on top of my mind is when Luger got visibly furious when he found out Fern was hiding her mana. That can easily appear as an emotional response. But conversely, much like in animals, even anger can simply be a direct response to a threat or mechanism. Meaning it still shouldn't be equated to what we view as "emotions" since demons intrinsically lack the depth for it.
At the end of the day, I don't think demons in Frieren having "emotions" would be logical. If they had that, the story wouldn't have progressed the way it did. Nor would they act in ways they do. We could argue that demons are really just malevolent versions of elves, meaning that their emotions manifest in different ways due to their long life spans, but how elves are potrayed in the show already disproves this. At this point, it's really just a matter of their nature, and so far, part of demons' established nature is being "emotionless."

Even dogs and cats can get “angry” or “fearful”. Those are base emotions that all complex animals can feel.
Now pride and lust for power; those are more complex. But we see from the Flamme flashback that Demons do have pride. Though it is likely born from their Pecking Order instincts, they do have a sense of pride surrounding mana. And Ludger’s frustration and hatred was a reaction to being deceived; he was already dying, but the idea that the battle was unfair got to him.
What I’m saying here is basically that the story wants demons to be nuanced, to a point. They can have emotions, desires, even complex relationships and principles. But they cannot escape the simple truth that they are beings of deceit who endeavor to kill humans

I think I will place Macht above Solitar because Macht win with hax, also I think power scaling in Frieren is like Rock Paper Scissors, it's really heavy on situation and which opponent character compared to, for example we know from manga there Macht really bad at mental magic that's make Grausam win the advantage against Macht (when Schlacht Force Macht to join against Hero of South) and against Edel mind reading that makes his downfall, and Macht is really strong at close and distance fighting style.
and I think Solitar can't escape the effect of the Algoze and why Solitar doesn't turn into gold is because they already make teams up so Solitar isn't immune to the Algoze,

I've enjoyed the series (overwhelmingly), and there are plenty of amazing fights/choreography to boot.... but man, Lugner's fight was my favorite. I believe it had to do not only with the dialogue (amazing), but also the animation and visualization of his specific magic.
Well I recently caught up to the manga, and Macht definitely stronger than Solitaire. Solitaire says this herself btw and admitted she feared him.

Heavily disagree with Solitär stronger than Macht, Frieren went toe to toe with her even though they met for the first time but frieren needed to decipher 100 years worth of memory just to analyze di agoldze. Edel was a clutch on that arc.

Graumsam, i could see why. But why do u think solitar is alive? Didn't she die literally in front of frieren? Also, maybe the hero of the south could still be alive. They wiped off the memories of the battle from macht's memories. Why would they need that if it wouldn't change anything for them, since theoretically all sages of destruction are all dead(only grausam is teased to be alive, since he can make illusions and stuff and could change his face and appearence). Maybe yhe hero of the south is just frozen from diagoldze or something similar.

As you can see here like Frieren she lives longer and you get more powerful because of mana. so in my conclusion if 1 of the elves practice so well like serei they would get wipe out easily so that's why they wipe all elves because they are big threat?

It came full circle when demon king killing all elves made Frieren what she is today, Frieren the slayer and helped kill the demon king.
macht is like the one dude with a nuclear bomb. No matter how muddy the battlefield is, if there is a nuclear bomb, everything will become useless. Tbh, he's a hax unbeatable char except with illusion magic (sage level). Even if solitar capable of human thinking, i dont think macht is going to lose. So macht should be 3rd for me based on that reasoning
Tod was the mystery to me in this ranking since she implied that she's inevitable a 100 years from the time travel(when the demon king was still alive) arc then to the current timeline. We know that it's 80 years since Himmel's death.

So it doesn't stay a slice of life series then. That gets me hyped for the later seasons. I was finally able to get around to watching Frieren, and while the slice of life part is wholesome and good i love the action and villains. So its good to see those won't get dull anytime soon.

People saying Macht is stronger than Solitar are both right and wrong. Yes, Macht is superior due to his hax but at the same time, he isn’t because Solitar has better offensive spells. Solitar clearly was the superior mage, she taught Macht human magic, she destroyed the barrier that imprisoned him for 50 years and just downright have better combat spells. However, Solitar is not immune to Di Algoze and she also doesn’t have any counter to it thus she would lose in a fight. But point is, without Macht’s hax, Solitar would mop the floor with him. That is why she was ranked higher.
They also have the same mana output so basically they are equal, but the mage with greater knowledge and spells will always win.
Zart is underrated he could just let boulders rain over a city and destroy whole nations.
One tip, for these kind of videos. Check the pronunciation of the spells and names. They're all German, so I would look it up how to pronounce them.
Macht is my favourite demon tbh and kinda gets hard done by, Frieren can only beat him because she spent literally 600 years and using his own memories to analyse his curse, and serie just happens to have the nuh uh, magic from basically before human magic and it's basically unlearnable in most humans lifetimes.

As we know Soliter, try to avoid challenge against strong opponents, but her original goal was to come and kill Macht (she did not know about Frieren and her group back then)
This act sound to bold for Soliter (Macht is not a punching bag and at very least he is on same lvl with Soliter). To much of the risk for Soliter if she did not hide a trick in her sleeve

We don't know that. She originally came to El Dorado in order to kill Macht. And she's both very analytical and a self-proclaimed coward. She wouldn't have embarked on that mission in the first place unless she thought she has something with better than even odds of getting her past Di Agolze.

I do know that many people think one is stronger from the most OP power couple, but they are equals and can change depending on the scenario of a fight. As both are all rounders with specializations on specific fields of fighting.
Solitar is the most adaptive demon once she experiences it first hand she gains answer to said magic and is generally good with every magic despite her mastery of Mana control.
Macht favors cqc the most and can change fighting styles easily. He is as versatile as Solitar but focus mostly on his direct combat prowess.
Qual over Aura is a hot take. Aura could literally make him her slave and if Himmel did not interrupt Aura's magic, could have been a fatal blow to the Hero Party as all four were needed to defeat the Demon King. Just because Aura's power is more strategic doesn't make her weaker than a more direct attacker. There is a reason why she out ranked him in the Demon Army. She simply had a bad matchup to Frieren who both is one of the few characters who has more mana and who is the most proficient at hiding it which even a couple hundred years of suppression training would not have been enough otherwise. Also, keep in mind, Aura waged war for multiple decades in modern human society without anyone being able to pin her down and best her until Frieren intervened and we know that humans were aware of this as Ubel even commented on it as common knowledge later. Frieren even states that if Aura had fought her normally, that she would have had trouble defeating her. The same cannot be said of Qual who lost with little to no effort. Hard disagree.
Qual was not "no effort", Frieren had another mage go pure defense so she had time to cast her spell.
Edit: To add, we even see a bit of training Frieren put that mage thru to be ready for that fight. It was far from no effort.

Zart is a normal german word, it means gentle, delicate or tender. I would say the name comes from Zart avoiding direct combat and trying to avoid any direct attacks as much as possible with his teleportation ability.
I really think something will happen, and schlacht wanting frieren to not see the fight trough matcht of el dorado memories, indicates something was done by him that no mage should see because it will have consecuences in the future, also the demon king killing all elves and sending so many strong demons after frieren, probably indicates that frieren or an elf will ruin their plans in the future (this can probably be the demon king death tho), i think something incredible is about to happen in frieren, and that it aims to be a very long story (wich i hope it is).

I don't think Solitar is dead, because she seems like the kind of character who would plan her own death.
If I were a demon I would not try to confront any human at all I them threat to my own existence. I would try to understand the fundamental and complexities of magic and think outside the box of thinking for a average demon. I would stack knowledge and experience and loots. I would first try to find the secret of immortality and defensive techniques while boosting my offense and my physical strength. try develop abilities so I would be versatile in combat and evolve much powerful.
I would live for eons so my own dreams come to dark reality.

I want to hear how you think each Demon will handle a 1v1 fight scenario against Asta. There are many things to take into consideration like Asta having 0 mana, his ki detection skill, and having multiple anti magic swords with different abilities. I’m really hoping that maybe one day you can actually do this video since I’m really curious on if there are certain demons who can stalemate or actually kill Asta.
Tbf asta would beat the ever living shit out of all of them as his anti magic basically makes them all useless and his planetary scaling would wipe every demon in combat. If you want the demons to have a chance, first remove asta anti magic and somehow lowball asta to city level

Solitäir was able to "press" Frieren? Why not say the what truly happened? She beat Frieren fair and square just after beating Stark & Fern with ease at the same time.
Frieren admitted she needed Fern to fight alongside her, otherwise she wouldn't be able to beat Solitäir, ant that's exactly what happened, Fern shows up and attacks Solitäir by suprise, saving Frieren.
Brother, Frieren was literally analysing macht diagoldz spell during their entire fight solitaire stated that frieren in holding back her mana and after frieren turns the city of wiese back to normal solitair herself stated that whg would she do something like analysing a spell that would obviously affect the outcome of a fight.Solitair didn't win against her lol more like stood on equal footing after frieren copied her spell.

Frieren was only holding back her mana initially, later she releases it when Solitär tells her she killed Stark and Fern. Frieren gives her all and still is unable to beat Solitär who had already beaten Fern and Stark, taking an injury to her shoulder.
Frieren then straight up admits on her head that she can't beat Solitär 1v1 and needs Fern.
Even after copying Solitär's spell, Frieren still couldn't win because Solitär had an amazing shield.

I wouldn't put Solitar above Macht. During the start of El Dorado arc, Frieren downright said that they won't assist fighting Macht. Collaboration of multiple high-class mages just to extract every little things to know about Macht's curse. Sacrifices were made and great amount of time to let Frieren decipher the curse. Yes, Solitar is very strong, but Macht's diagolze is just pure cheating. Not to mention, Frieren is fighting Solitar she just met moments ago while deciphering diagolze.

Why has nobody considered the fact that the hero's party managed to kill the demon king but they couldn't kill Quall and had to resort to sealing him. It took him mere seconds to decipher the new defensive magic that was used against him and immediately figure out how to counter it. Imagine if he had the hundreds of years the other demons had to perfect his spells. To rank him so low is inaccurate.
We still don't know how the Hero Party defeated the Demon King. Honestly, there's even theories out there that the Hero Party didn't kill the Demon King; leading to the possibility they did have to seal him or some other roundabout way. I wouldn't use that as a way to justify another demons strength, as it's stated multiple times that there was no demon stronger than the Demon King. (They wouldn't have followed him otherwise.)
Qual's insane potential is something I discuss in the video, but the truth is, while alive, Qual didn't even qualify for being one of the seven sages. I can only rank Qual off of what he has shown and done. It's not really accurate to rank him off a possibility that if Qual lived longer, he would've been stronger.

That is speculation, I don't think it is reasonable to disregard a feat based on that alone. "Because we don't know X so we can disregard this feat" is presupposing that what you don't know will support your position and question begging. What if it supports the opposite?
Furthermore it should be noted that he was only defeated because the hero’s party bought time for humanity, through the united efforts of many mages including Fieren and over decades to reverse engineer and develop countermeasures for his spell, a countermeasure which he figured out how to overcome on the spot. He was even killed by his own spell, Zoltraak, which had become the very basis of the modern magic system. No other demon’s magic has that accolade. Basically he invented the rifle when people were still using bows, and when people took decades to develop kevlar he immediately figured how to overcome it as well. No other demon has demonstrated such a flair for magic.
Since he was killed by his own spell which was only possible because humanity had time to repurpose it and he was sealed the whole time unaware of the fact and unable to respond to their counter, the short battle in which he died is not a fair assessment of his combat skills. The true assessment should be based on his first battle with the Hero’s party when the human version of Zoltraak didn’t even exist, and we know from that battle Fieren’s entire party could not defeat him. Therefore it should be asked, which demon in the story is Fieren’s entire party unable to defeat. I doubt any of the Sages can claim that.
“Qual didn't even qualify for being one of the seven sages” Sages are just the demon king’s generals, there is no indication that there are no stronger demons outside that group, in fact Schlacht who leads them is not a sage himself, and there are other greater demons comparable in strength as well such as Solitar.

1: Respectfully, killing the demon king is a canonical feat, not speculation. Unless we have new canon information, any claim that it was not really a victory or that the demon king is not really dead is, unfortunately, speculation. Therefore the burden of proof lies on you for any claim that involves outcomes not stated in the story, and the killing feat counts for and not against my position by default.

I don’t remember focusing on Qual’s potential as my argument for this discussion. Him managing to figure out and overcome countermeasures to Zotraak in mere seconds in the middle of a fight is an estimation of his actual ability and not potential ability. I also specifically said that the assessment for his power level should be based on the first fight since the second fight was not a fair fight for him. That was also not a claim about his potential, since we know the actual outcome of that prior battle, which was that Frieren’s party was unable to defeat him.

The statement that it is speculation to say there are other greater demons on the same level as Solitar/demon sages is false because like I said, Schlacht the leader of the demon sages himself is not a demon sage, and we know for a fact that demon hierarchy is entirely power-based, meaning we already have a factual example of someone stronger than a demon sage who leads them.

Your whole entire argument IS his potential. You're saying he should be able to surpass the Sages if he had enough time after being unsealed to do so, but this never happens. I discuss his quick adaptation in the video, it's not overlooked.
The 7 Sages are in fact the Strongest Demons under the Demon King. Demons only respect hierarchies based on strength, it's coded into their genetics. Solitar is an EXTREME anomaly due to her unique curiosity and fascination with the human race, almost rejecting the Demon King's army entirely. She instead is considered a great friend to him and is called when needed, but chooses research over battle. Solitar is 1 of 1, and not many other demons are as layered besides Macht or the Demon King himself. This is stated and canon.
You literally ignored or missed my whole point on Aura. She also survived her encounter with the Hero party lol. But to be honest, the power system works in such a way people may beat others through wit and strategy, rather than strength. Just because the party beat a demon one way, it does not mean they could beat another demon with the same method; even if that demon was weaker. It depends completely on their magic.

I think this vid takes zard too lightly. While I agree he’s definitely no top tier, thinking that just because he can’t teleport people in the sky anymore makes his technique worthless is just uncreative considering there are SO many other places that would still be valuable. "Oar-fahsen"............... Erfassen means to "record"... she records others' moves. Draht literally means wire. Stark literally means strong. Zart means delicate. "Graw-sum"??? Grausam means cruel/vicious. "Loo-gnar"??? Lügner means liar. I could go on for the whole video but I think you guys get the point.

But it can be too much "slice and life", too much "calm" for some People. It is à very inteligent show about time and life. I have watch over 300 (400maybe, lost count) anim and this one is in my top 10

I don't understand demons being all destructive evils. Considering real world humans with their condition exist and by the vast majority do not act like animals.
Most people without empathy actually hide it extremely well.
It's the extreme minority who lash out or create a self destructive environment.
Even if for no other reason than survival, they usually behave.
Because demons are pretty much evolved monsters in this series, they dont think or empathize the way humans do and cant really be judged by the same standards. It's like trying to get a wild animal to understand a conversation.
Please do not compare demons to people with developmental conditions, it is very obviously not comparable. For one such humans are not immediately destinct with horns, they have to live in society and not in a parallel one of their own kind, they are not compelled to eat human meat and they are not far more powerful and longlived than normal humans. Also contrary to Hollywood betrayals people with strong antisocial conditions tend to be of below average intelligence and success, often impulsive and prone to violence, they actually are not Hannibal Lectors fitting smoothly into society and even then having no empathy on the level of demon would be a rare, extraordinary case.
They are monsters and do not share the same ancestors with humans
The series eludes to this by comparing a fish and an orca. They look the same but are prey and predator respectively

@@davids7646 yeah teleportation is way more op than blood manipulation as he can just spawn a knife into a persons eyeballs or spawn a grenade on a person head. He could also teleport giant wild beast towards his target to weaken them or give them some Trouble. There is just so many uses!
