Just out of curiosity I did the math on 130,000 residents x $161 HOA fee each month. The Villages collects, in the area of $21,000,000 PER MO in dues. I amazed myself. That's around a quarter of a billion dollars per year. Whew. Hey, it's still one of the lowest in Florida. The smaller the community, the higher the HOA fee. Hope it's sunny in Florida. It is in Duluth and a whopping 0° outside. I think I'll stay in. In the winter, the sunnier outside, the colder the temp up in the Northland.

I lived in a senior community for 7 years and there were 7 neighbors and myself that were pretty close. All the others were new people and six of the original group had died. Then the lady next door to me died and I thought......seven down, one to go and I was the one.....also thought how it was way too depressing and I hesitated to get close to anyone there and decided to move and get a small apartment in a small town where there were all age groups and get away from all the dying all around me. The neighbors here were really nice and diverse.
