The senior high rise I lived in was constantly visited by the ambulance and in the past four months, there were three visits by the coroner. Many times the ambulance was called to lift someone up who'd fallen. I moved to a more regular mix neighborhood. Too much misery in senior housing because many are high density, so the senior population is concentrated In a more compact area.
I lived in a senior community for 7 years and there were 7 neighbors and myself that were pretty close. One by one they would get sick and die, would fall and die during surgery or would be found dead in bed, having died in their sleep. Then there was only the lady next door to me and myself. All the others were new people and six of the original group had died. Then the lady next door to me died and I thought......seven down, one to go and I was the one.....also thought how it was way too depressing and I hesitated to get close to anyone there and decided to move and get a small apartment in a small town where there were all age groups and get away from all the dying all around me. The neighbors here were really nice and diverse. I especially loved the one couple next to me who were about 25 years younger than me and would always be looking out for me and helping any way they could, They were both so very active, traveled a lot and just so full of fun and laughter., In a matter of around 5 months, one of them came down with cancer and died. It is way harder to lose someone so much younger and so full of life and dreams then one (or 7) of your peers when you are older.
I don’t want to wish my life away, but so look forward to the day when having to deal with bugs on my golf cart ride is my biggest problem. I always look forward to mail bag Monday, thank you for these videos.
