Also, concerning continuing to work, while all of your neighbors are retired..... We moved here while continuing to work. We were told we would get ‘retirement envy’. There’s no such thing..... This one is so funny! We need more funny thought bubbles! And you are right - I watched one of your really old videos and Linda looked so shy and uncomfortable. It’s great to see her smile and have fun during the show!
Rain in Florida is much welcomed and appreciated! Plants and all living things need water. I would rather have it looking nice and green instead of hot and dry. Also, a rainy or even just a cloudy day can keep the heat down enough to make the temperature tolerable outside. Rainy months are usually June through Sept. September is usually the most rainy. Otherwise, the rain is NOT a problem.
I love trying to find the pictures you add each week. Willie Mays and Steve Irwin this week. Great show again, thanks for all the time and effort to devote to helping others.
You two crack me up! I'm 48 and my hubby is 45. We're from Oregon but moved to DeLand, FL in 2016 for his new position within his company. We are back home in Oregon now, as we knew it wasn't a long term relocation. I absolutely LOVED Florida. It felt like I was on vacation every day. Our 17 year old daughter loved it as well. We also have a mini dachshund. Her name is Bella and she just turned 11. I'm not sure how or why YT suggested your channel but I am SO glad they did. I've been binge watching your videos while I'm in my art studio. You two make me smile and The Villages should absolutely put you two on their payroll. You do a phenomenal job of providing information, showing us around and giving honest opinions and feedback. We don't have any plans to return to Florida, to live anyways. My hubby is an avid outdoorsman and we do love our mountains here in the Pacific Northwest. But if we ever were thinking about returning to retire, you have definitely peeked my interest for The Villages, once we'd be eligible to live there. Thank you so much for making these videos. I too am a UA-camr and know all the behind the scenes work, editing etc so I really appreciate everything you do. You have fans here in Oregon 👋🏼😁 Abby
We loved the little cloudy comment balloons above your heads in the last part of your vid. THANK YOU for yet another fun, informative video!!!!! From your friends in Baton Rouge, LA.
Another Great Video Jerry and Linda as always. Nice that they have corn hole down there or as we call it in the Chicago Area Baggo. Also I think that is great that Linda is thinking of volunteering at one of the Charity Thrift stores. My Wife and Sister also did that. Keep those Mail bag Mondays coming. Going to send you an email with a couple of questions.
This video was certainly entertaining. I'm a retired teacher and proud Hoosier also. Your personalities radiate midwestern warmth we are known for. Keep up the good work and thank you!
Thank you for answering question about decorative temp fencing for our dog. I guess like Gizmo said, our dog will have a rope around her neck when she potties.

My sister has lived in Florida for close to 25 years, and regarding rain, her husband told me, " IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE WEATHER IN FLORIDA, JUST WAIT 10 MINUTES" And I have seen it first hand through out our first 8 months here. Very dry Winter months, which are appreciated. But, when it does, it is welcome.
Another great Mailbag Monday and another Monday I've been distracted from work for something more enjoyable :-) Enjoyed the animation with Gizmo, now was that Linda doing the voice-over - and if so is that what you meant when you said Linda was talking more LOL. Have a great week.
@@JERRYANDLINDA Due to the US borders closing in 2020 - the week after we completed the designs on our home, and remaining closed a year later we decided to rent out our designer home for 2 years giving the world a chance to return to some form of normality. Cute video guys! I'm a super practical person, so I have been doing the benefits of putting the GA income tax into a Roth. Thanks for putting perspective on the topic. Gizmo, my boys Seymour and Hogan are a bit bigger and they are a bit worried about the yard issue too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Hugs and tummy rubs from Georgia!
My husband retired more than 20 years ago.I had to wait a little longer.I was worried about the time spent together also.We have different levels of togetherness honed over the years (57)....he has a back bedroom set up as his space and I have a front room the same.We each have our own tv's etc.so we watch what we want. This has worked out well for when we want "alone:" time. We hope to make it to at least 60 years this way!!
Great show, as always, remember that certain homes do have completely fenced in yards for those dog people, veranda homes and certain villas have private yards, just please don’t leave your dogs out there barking all day.
A lot of northeast states have mo income tax on retirement income. PA has none. NJ has none on up to $100k (married filing jointly or $75k single) on other retirement income, but non-retirement income is taxed, and if all income except SS exceeds $100k all of it becomes taxable, not just the amount over $100/$75k. What drives most retirees out of NJ are all the other taxes, especially property taxes, and the opportunity to cash out the equity in their houses.

Hi Jerry well good news is we sold our house and we're on our way down and should be down there June 1st. The second thing is I was wondering if you could have a Electric scooter on the cart paths. I haven't heard anybody talk about it and I've never seen one when we were down there on our lifestyle visit. Just wondering if it's an option for a second vehicle on multimodal path? See you when we get there😃
Really enjoy your videos, but we never wanted to move to The Villages. You are both the best spokespersons for that community and your advice applies to other places too. The community is very appealing but home styles just aren’t for us. I’m not sure why they aren’t better when we’ve seen great homes in the southeast that are at the same price. I won’t name them all but from Virginia to SC there are many golf course communities. We’ve decided to stay in Virginia and retire to Fords Colony in Williamsburg. We aren’t huge golfers so access to several courses there and locally works. Plus we love the landscape, home styles and historic area. Thanks for all the videos, we’ll keep watching.
Understand what your saying… we actually think the homes here are quite nice. We are comparing them to the homes of Southern Indiana. Of course across the country there is a trend for building homes with many more luxury features.
Hi I'm, Randall. I originally started watching to learn about Florida living in the Villages. That was a cute little ending to the show. You both seem so sweet. That is part of the attraction to the show. You both just have a little something special that feels good to see. Gizmo too. Thanks so much. Maybe it is the former teachers shining through.
Omg. Last question. 🤣 Hilarious answers in your mind. Thanks for the comedy relief. You guys seem like a couple that’s always cherished each other. Thanks. Always appreciate mailbag Monday’s. Don’t know if it’ll be the villages but wherever we retire in Florida, we want a lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange, mango and avocado trees in our backyard. Hope that will be allowed. Have a great week. Til your next video. Grand day to you.
Think you woke Gizmo up with your question! Linda you toss those bean bags like I do, LEFT HANDED👍Do you also golf left? It’s been hard for me to find left hand instruction, as bad as my golf game is I may switch to right handed, don’t think it could get any worse!
I think that your discussion about how your relationship evolves, especially in retirement in 55+ communities, was good. You need to do activities together & apart & have lots of choices. As to the humor thought bubbles. Linda if he throws dirty socks on the floor & tries to “recycle” them without washing, simply throw a clean pair in it’s place, toss dirty ones in hamper. You have to pick your battles like with a toddler. Truthfully, you both seem to have a great relationship. Jeanne
Nice job you two, really enjoy your videos. I am 54 and thinking about the next chapter in life for me and my wife, looking forward to a life style like yours- fun and smiles (most of the time).
Great video as always! Re the rain days per year, as a life long Fla resident, that number is very deceiving. Yes, the 40-50 inches of rain annually is a hard number, but almost all of that falls during the afternoon in the summer months and usually comes in the mid afternoon gully washers that lasts 30-60 minutes. Then it’s gone. Most days are sunny with the the exception of summer afternoons. If you start your day early you’re Golden! The only days without sun are a few times a year when a frontal boundary sits on top of you for a couple days. We don’t want to scare all the Yankees away😄

Good morning from a mile or two south - really enjoyed you two this morning. 💖 Loved the thought bubbles at the end. 😂 Nice tosses Linda! 💪🏻 Jerry I’ve had 5 basal cell carcinomas and a squamous too, from sun damage in my teens. Dermatologist recommended Neutrogena sunscreens with helioplex - any level 30SPF or above. I like the spray version. Load up! ☀️
No sales or income tax but they get us with property taxes. especially if you live on waterfront property. That was a very good episode today.Tske care and leave some sunscreen in your golf bag.
Linda was a delightful on scene reporter lol...excellent. I knew the Giz had a voice.Jerry, Linda's shyness is so sweet (Yes,Jerry...you definitely have one in a billion)...but she has a demure shyness that evokes a very manners-driven childhood.I'm guessing that Linda has impeccable manners and is always aware of what she says and how she says it, so as to never offend but still make her opinion heard.I'm still guessing but I think that Linda found her Marlboro man when she found you Jerry (she always looks to you glowingly). You Jerry found looks, manners,a deep heart and soul in Linda. You knew very quickly that you had hit a home run in her :).I would think all of that combined with deep respect for one another;creates an atmosphere that enables you both to navigate every day just a little different to ease comradery.A good Midwest attitude on you both is icing on your cake.Your videos are a very bright spot in your viewers day,for that I thank you.I wish nothing more than longevity , health, and fun for you both; you are providing fun and knowledge for many others.Face it ... you guys are still teaching :).
Jerry and Linda, easy on the weather forecasters! (Lol) My son is a Meteorologist who broadcasts on your Spectrum Cable news network in Orlando. I assume you could watch him since you have Spectrum Cable; he works the weekend mornings and the Monday through Wednesday late morning into the early afternoon time period. Chris Gilson is his name and I bet the forecast is accurate!! Check him out!!
Basal cell carcinoma....hey, something's gonna get you. PS, when I was in bootcamp in Orlando in the summer of 1978, I swear it rained everyday at 2 or so. And it was a "wet" rain. Just muggy.
a john denver tribute artist is coming to your savanaha center later this month. they are doing multiple concerts. you don’t want to miss jim curry and his wife anne. enjoy.
Having lived in the Houston area, humidity and rain doesn’t bother us...much. We found when storms knocked out the electricity for days at a time, it was great to have a gas or propane stove. Can you change out the electric stoves there for an underground propane tank?

Good morning from a mile or two south - really enjoyed you two this morning. 💖 Loved the thought bubbles at the end. 😂 Nice tosses Linda! 💪🏻 Jerry I’ve had 5 basal cell carcinomas and a squamous too, from sun damage in my teens. Dermatologist recommended Neutrogena sunscreens with helioplex - any level 30SPF or above. I like the spray version. Load up! ☀️
Thanks, Karen!
Question do know if I wanted to build a home in another state would the villages sell me the blue print
Doubtful... but money talks.
Great info as always, Jerry, Linda and Gizmo!
Aloha from the big island Hawaii. Again, you two are adorable! I just love your show!
Excellent video. If you have a good marriage things are easier. My wife and I are both retired and we do a lot of things together.
No sales or income tax but they get us with property taxes. especially if you live on waterfront property. That was a very good episode today.Tske care and leave some sunscreen in your golf bag.

"Has your move brought you closer together?" I love the expressions, the silent period - LOL

I never heard of pickle ball
Wow!!! Thank you, Ellen! 😁😁
Will do! Its a hard job... so unpredictable! Plus, you can actually watch it rain a neighborhood away, and never get a drop.
@@JERRYANDLINDA To your question about rain. It might rain in any place within Florida on a daily basis. Maybe not in your area, but somewhere...
Gizmo great answer 🐾❤️👍🏼
Your are the best keep up with the good work having fun
Y’all crack me up! Those thought bubbles had me rolling! 💕✌🏼
What part of Indiana are you from? I grew up in South Bend but live in Texas now.
You were in Irish country, We grew up across the river from Louisville Kentucky.
Absolutely loved it!!!!
Basal cell carcinoma....hey, something's gonna get you. PS, when I was in bootcamp in Orlando in the summer of 1978, I swear it rained everyday at 2 or so. And it was a "wet" rain. Just muggy.
Very cute!!😂😂Good job!
Another great video! The end was too funny!
a john denver tribute artist is coming to your savanaha center later this month. they are doing multiple concerts. you don’t want to miss jim curry and his wife anne. enjoy.
Having lived in the Houston area, humidity and rain doesn’t bother us...much. We found when storms knocked out the electricity for days at a time, it was great to have a gas or propane stove. Can you change out the electric stoves there for an underground propane tank?
Our neighbor did exactly that!
